They are SO affectionate! I cannot think of any other type of dog that is so alert and aware of what is going on. They react immediately. If you stop stroking them, they will either bark or tap you on the arm as if to say: "Hey! I want more!"

My husky hates affection. Most of the time, he tolerates it but he does growl and show his teeth if he’s not in a good mood or doesn’t adore the person. That being said, most nights, he won’t sleep until I’ve rubbed his belly
@@haneulsjams Hmmm...most of the huskies I've come across are non stop licks and jumps with paws on my shoulders...I suppose you can always come across one that isn't like that, but a slim minority...it may depend on their training and socialization...you may be missing out on something...
@@merc340sr I got him when he was 7 months old. His old owner said he’s the biggest jerk she’s ever met and said he was too stubborn to train and let him do whatever. I’ve had him for almost a year and he gets compliments on how well behaved he is but he’s still a jerk and doesn’t like other dogs, white men or children. He’s not very husky like in his personality and was rehomed for attacking the dogs he lived with. Now he likes most dogs as long as he’s only with them for less than an hour and they’re not dominating. He adores cats though and would rather wrestle and play bite me than let me play with him using his toys
@@haneulsjams Sounds very odd...I don't know whether you can get this checked out at the vet or with a professional dog trainer...something sounds abnormal...just the fact that the dog's former owner gave it away could be a clue. Many huskies are given away because new owners cannot handle them...maybe the former owner got fed up and beat the dog....or maybe the dog was taken away from its mother prior to EIGHT WEEKS from birth....prior to eight weeks will significantly affect the dog's socialization and you will likely get behavioral problems....just speculating...

Where I live it's called the sunniest place in the world, it's a few hours away from Phoenix. It gets around 120'f in hot weather and if my husky is outside for a long time he would start crying because he's eyes are too clear for the sun. I guess they can handle the hot weathers as long as they're use to being outside if not they could dehydrated.
When I was in the military,I got a husky. My son was born about 8 mos later. He could crawl all over the husky and she would just lay there and take it. Then in May of 86 I got orders for the Philippines for a 4 year tour and it is hot all year round there. I wasn't going to do that to my doggie. So I found a good family to take her. It broke my heart to let her go,but it was for the best.
I truly admire you for your service and selflessness: to your country and to your family. I'm sure she's doing great.

The constant and complete ass kissing of the military in the US is really odd. It's just like any other job and comes with many perks and benefits.

You have to go full in on a Husky. Because they will change your world. They mean everything they say...everything they destroy in your house. They mean it. Be sure to have a huge back yard. Also, make sure they cannot escape that back yard...because they will and really try hard to do it. Not that they do not love you...but they still have half a wolf in them that loves freedom.

+kappa And *VERY HIGH* energy levels. I do not recommend huskies for normal families. They're simply too demanding. Tons and tons of husky owners regret their choice, because it requires gigantic amounts of running - not just walking, though they need that too - or other forms of hard labour.
I cannot stress enough how little I recommend a husky, and I truly hope people who want a husky take a good, very hard look at their lives and ask themselves if they're ready to have what amounts to a dog version of an athlete training for the olympics.

I know, right? I didn't know a dog could shed twice its size worth of hair!
It's because Huskies have two coats, so lots of fur to shed haha.

Huskys are great. But the Running Part has to be much much bigger. We had one once and he loved to pull you around in the Woods while i was sitting on a Bike.
You forgot the talking back LMAO!!!...These dogs are one of thee most VOCAL dogs I have ever had the pleasure of owning. Ya just cant get past those baby blues with out a smile!

What type of dog do you suggest I want a husky or another dog that's in my house (I'm 10 so I live with my parents) but I want your advice
I grew up with a husky, whom we named North Dakota- Dakota for short. He didn't listen very well when we tried to teach him tricks, but he was loveable... Unless you were a groundhog that wandered into the yard, then he'd kill you. In his younger years, he was super energetic and dug holes everywhere in the yard. Since he was claustrophobic, Dakota had to be an outside dog. He loved running around the yard, and watching him always brought a smile to my face. Naturally, he lost the energy to sprint about as he aged and he developed arthritis in all four of his legs. Due to his inactivity, he started to gain an unhealthy amount of weight.
We had him out to sleep on October thirty-first of my senior year in school, which was about three years ago.
When you bring a husky into your home, be prepared for the purest love. But you also need to prepare yourself for the intense heartbreak that will unassailably come after the wonderful years that you spent with them.
Dakota gave us fifteen years of affection.
I still tear up sometimes when I look into the yard, expecting to see him running laps around our pool with the Doberman and German Shepard.
Huskies are my favourite breed, but I don't think that my family will bring another one home.
I'm very grateful to have found this channel. It brings back fond memories.

You're lucky. My dog was only 6 years old when we had to put him down due to Limes disease. He was a Pekingese and the most loving creature I've ever had. When I have to guts I'm going to get another one along with either a Husky or German Shepard. I miss him dearly. He died last year on November 8th.

OTaku yeah he is so adorable
That's so cute! My white shepherd (Naru) is friendly too. But this one time when the cable guy came to install the cable at our house. Naru heard him coming and started growling. That was his first time he's growled at anyone, I was surprised.
My Husky only sheds twice a year.
Once for 7 months and then for 5 more. ;-)

All dogs are beautiful, but huskies are unbelievably beautiful. My dog stopped running away because of the age. What is funny about her is when she wants to go outside at night in the yard she does not bark or hauls, she whispers. I guess she does not want everyone to wake up only me :)))
I agree, majority of dogs are beautiful, but Huskies are just a different kind of beautiful on another level :D I miss mine.
my grand parents had a beautiful husky named Clyde but it choked and died on a stick I could not stop crying after I got the news I loved that dog so much.

I've had huskies as a kid, never had any trouble, but of course, I lived on a farm, my husky Magnum got very attached to one of my cows, they would actually play with one another and He would even follow the cow everywhere. They are my favorite breed!

they're just like old people. the older they get, the less of a shit they give haha. I've got two, one is sixteen and her names Lucy, other is fourteen and his name is jack. Lucy is probably the most hard headed living thing I know, and I absolutely love it!

I LOVE DOGS!!!!!! Big and small, dogs bring so much joy to my life. Gohan is absolutely beautiful! So sweet, you can look into his eyes and see the soul. Good for you and good for him. Your a lucky pair! I don't have a dog in my life for the first time since I've been an adult and I'm 49 so that's alot of happy years and I long to have one I'm just not in a stable environment as far as knowing I will be able to ensure where our safe home will be. I'm safe but we all know that our four legged babies have to live in a doggy safe environment hopefully with a big fenced yard. I'll get there soon. I don't know that I'll have a Husky. my cousin has a black lab that will sometimes talk back when you tell her to sit
i have 3 dogs of my own none of which are trained well.my oldest is 17 but by the timd my dad met my stepmom they didnt ever want to train her.they never trained my 2nd oldest dog.and the youngest judt came along at like 4 years old and they said it was to old to train him

My husky does some crazy things when she poops she looks like she gets really happy, digging digging and digging, cuting grass, biting friendly etc. I love her.

I have a husky and it was quite easy training him to Poo outside , however when it comes to training them w/ being without the leash is very hard lol

+Nina and Rhea mine follows me everywhere lol I didn't really train him he just copied my jack russel terrier, they both follow me even in the house,I think it's bcus I ride bike alot at random times and take them out with me (unleashed) so I guess they think I'm going to leave n take them for an adventure at any moment xD. its wierd when I'm getting ready to go out my husky starts howling when I start to put the gear on n my jack russel starts going in circles,they're so funny n adorable

yes, we have a husky - 10 yrs old, getting a bit slow now - he is an outside dog (about 95 lbs) knows a lot of single word commands (sit, stay, go see, come (responds to claps), here, (wave the hand - to go away), does not beg for food, never on a leash, has 10 acres to run around, does not stray or run away, he is always on "alert" when Dad moves around in the house. He is not a guard dog, but will certainly announce when somebody comes into our yard. Very smart/intelligent dog - wouldn't have any other. He's due any time (as soon as the weather warms up here) for major blow-out of his coat. He has different greetings for different friends of ours. What an awesome dog Love him to pieces. He's my big baby.

I don't know, but she was not born with the intention, there was a male boxer who ran away and he found the belgian who was able to get pregnant so... tadaah 😂

+enjoy5566 Pitbulls aren't bad dogs, they're actually pretty great if raised by the right owner, they're just like all other dogs requiring love and attention, My aunt has owned 5 pitbulls and they were all lovely and very vocal just like huskies and guess what? 2 of them were from the shelter, stop being so judgemental.

Um that can happen but that's any dog some people buy dogs and they went up attacking them but again that's any dog but pitbulls aren't naturally aggressive its the owner but i understand what your saying but at the same time any dog can do that ANY
***** No there not BRED to be aggressive it depends on the owner i know i've met and i've had A LOT of pit bulls in my life and trained and also it's the owners fault for making them aggressive because a lot of them use them as fighting dogs ( or where used as one ) and it's not in there blood there loyal and sweet and all they need is a good owner and exercise and i've seen poodles before the owner didn't raise her wrong she'd bite anybody mostly because she didn't like being petted but at the same time i love pit bulls they just need a good owner to show them in the RIGHT direction.

I have a dirty faced husky and he does literally all the same things! He actually doesn’t have that many places to dig so he’ll start digging and burying his toys in blankets or pillows. It’s actually adorable

Huskies are pretty hard to own and train, to a novice they will overwhelm u and take a lot or hard work to train
Wow. I heard Huskies can never be let off their leash no matter how much training they've had. How does your Husky not run off?
My brother has his off his leash all the time except when he needs to go with him somewhere. At his house or at his shop he gets free reign.
Don't know who has told you this false information but they are no different to other dogs, while not legal (but have never been told of for it) I never put a lead on my husky, for some reason whenever he is on a lead he pulls uncontrollable so instead I trained him to keep his head next to my knee when we walk if I call "heal", once at the park I tap him twice on the bum and say "good boy", this is his signal to run free but he never goes more then 10 meters a head. Had him like this for 5 years and have never had any incidences.
You shouldn't let your husky or any dog off leash unless they are fenced in. It doesn't matter how well you *think* you trained them, all dogs can be distracted.
Amanda Jade Considering I've had him like this for 5 years and he has never lefted my knee, even when we have had cats bolt in front of us or have had a dog bark at us from his property. I know he is trained pretty well. I know it's not legal and I know if people had a problem they could easily call the cops or animal control and give me a fined, but no one EVER HAS in 5 years (I do cycle between the same 3 walks) so unless someone does I'm not going to stop.

The runs, the crazy runs! We have hardwood floors and sometimes my husky just slides through the house when he goes on these crazy runs.
