Funny, just yesterday I had an icle thought that they should have shown a shot through one of the bay-windows in the cockpit as the ship begins it's descent, and here it is. very well done although I prefer the darkness of space and sickly blue-green hues of the planetoid in the original, and the landscape was more organic-looking based on Giger's designs. Overall i liked this and would make a great basis for a scene in an updated/extended edit of the movie. Nice work!
I wish I could see this film again for the first time knowing absolutely nothing. I actually saw Aliens first. Felt like a feature length teaser for the first film.
Thanks very much. I've spent probably WAY too much time studying the Nostromo from every angle; I hope I got it at least semi-accurate. Thanks again. :)
@@fubaralakbar6800 Kane could also have said " roll 92 degrees port " the yaw order deleted. In the movie the Nostromo only seemed to be doing a roll maneuver since it's starboard side was facing the surface . It was already descending towards the planetoid facing foward so there was no actual need to yaw.
@@3dtinkerer161 also keep in mind that “Space Jockey” from AVP Forums released a book a year or two ago with his blueprints of all things *Alien.* I even got a little contribution on it. 😁 He was wondering what to call the other shuttle, as you would assume there would be some symmetry to the Nostromo. As Narcissus is essentially about “self love” (which is fitting for an escape craft), I suggested Salmacis, with the idea that it was unusable due to an accident fusing it to the “garage” door/protector. I got the name from Genesis’ *Story of Salmacis* (which is on their *Three Sides Live* album), which is about the creation of the first hermaphrodite (the blending of 2 organic beings), which I thought was appropriate for *Alien.*
@@TheRealNormanBates How is the blueprints book? I'm on the AvP forums too occasionally, and had been following his thread. It looks like a fantastic book, and is definitely on my To-Buy List. :)
@@3dtinkerer161 I got it last year. It’s really nice! He has blueprints for everything, including *Prometheus* (maybe *Alien:Covenant* … I’d have to recheck) No internal blueprints though.

It’s been three years and no one gave you a like? What injustice!
This is such a fine piece of work!
I gave you one like.

Nostromos!!!💖 EXCELLENT
BEST POS IN THE UNIVERSE
Nostromos come home
Build it- now
When Kane said roll 90 degrees port yaw I was confused. Roll and yaw are two separate manuevers.
Makes more sense with a comma. "Roll 92 degrees, port yaw".

Nice, looks like Starcraft 1 sinematic. The beginning in space.
Quite brilliant man, well done !
Thank you so much, Max! That is very kind of you. :)
Nice
Does this planet give anyone else the creeps?
I know I never asked to land on this ball of wax, that's for damn sure
Absolutely. It looks sickly green from orbit.
Any chances on getting a longer "tour" of the model? I would love to see where you added Ash's observation blister.
