Hi everyone! I'm an American from the Northeast (New England). I want to create a watering hole for people who want to discuss, learn and teach about history through UA-cam videos which you guys recommend to me through the comment section or over on Discord. The Mongolia episode was so good. You should really watch the whole thing. James and Richard did actually build the whole car, they know a lot about the mechanics of a car, far more than your average person. They're decent mechanics

James spends most of his free time tinkering with old motorbikes, he's an incredible mechanic and Richard definitely knows what he's doing.
Jeremy has no idea how a car works. Literally no idea.

I think you should react to Richard Hammonds crash, The reason why his scared of a jet engine, he had a very serious accident while recording top gear, whilst in car that had a jet engine. it nearly left him permanent brain damaged. He does still have some problems with memory loss from the crash to this day.

The grand tour is a little hit and miss mostly because they have no boundaries whatsoever. And yet its always worth watching
If you like the jet engine then maybe check series 10 EP07 of "Scrapheap Challenge" where someone builds a working jet engine out of parts in 10 hours. It'll blow your mind :)

The Grand Tour is the same format as Top Gear, but it just has Amazons Budgets and not the BBCs.
The early years of Top Gear there was more Car Reviews but they got less as the format grew into the challenges.
There are some truly great Top Gear Challenges, The Amphibious Car Challenge 1 & 2 will have you in stitches. There us one where they turn a car into a tribute to the Space Shuttle and strap it to a HUGE rocket and launch it.
There are whole episode specials that are 90-120min of "cocking about in cars" the best one of these is the Vietnam special but they are all great
None of the crew helped to build John, it was all Hammond and May (Jeremy made the doors).

On a very clear day u can see Calai from England it's mich easier to see england from claim because of the high cliffs. With naked eye

I live near Dover. You can see France very clearly on a bright day. Its so close to Dover it was nicknamed hellfire corner because they could use their large guns to bombard the town.

The shot obv didn’t hit the shed 1st time but I’d love to know what went into hitting the shed with the same car like it dropped high and hit it spot on obv it was done with retakes but how did they get that great shot

Top Gear was all about the Challenges and specials and from my memory you’ve not watched any so until you do you can’t really compare Top Gear to the Grand Tour.
It is unfortunate that they didn't show you what happened when they first tried to drive the car they built. The steering was reversed!

Hitler could see the cliffs of Dover from France - with bins. Dover to Calais between ports is 31 miles. I’m sure there’s some route that’s only 26 miles though! Can’t remember!

1.4 million cars scrapped in the UK every year. If you want hubcaps, try a scrap dealer. Also, before you can sell a car you first have to buy it.

You’re into history would you react to the only British territory to be occupied by the nazis during world war 2. Im from Guernsey in the channel islands and I’ve never seen a reaction to what happened to us during the war. In most of the uk people refer to us as nazi sympathizers just because we got invaded and occupied for 5 years even though we helped them escape Dunkirk and had all are militia troops taken over to England to fight in France leaving us completely un defended. m.ua-cam.com/users/TimelineChannel
