When you realize that Mannie fresh was making golden age hip hop beats in the late 90s....he was literally doing BDP style production.

I can almost certainly say he his production was piano synths of all all styles vintage and new. I'm pretty sure the stab was off one of those synths in the room. I don't think I've seen a video of him yet sampling vinyl from a turntable to a sampler in this era

The production sounds cheapish. The beat is hard though.
