    For those who are upset that I didn't know what several of the buttons did, thanks to the community, I've found that the battery lever on the left of the steering wheel is a manual regen brake lever. If the automatic regen braking isn't enough to stop you in time, pulling and holding that lever will use the max regen braking to recover more of the energy before having to use the brake pedal. Letting go of the lever will stop the added regen braking. It's not a toggle (on off switch). It needs to be pulled the entire time you want the regen braking increased. Here's a video of it in action ua-cam.com/video/FfKJlZc-YX4/v-deo.html
    The buttons on the back of the steering wheel are to change music tracks next and previous. On the other side, it controls the volume.
    Hope that helped.
    If you have any other information I missed, feel free to mention it here so others can learn about other useful features, tips, and tricks.

    The paddle "Button" is for regen, it brakes the car without touching the brake and regenerates the battery. The buttons on the back (both sides) of the steering wheel are for track forward on the left and volume on the right, so you don't have to look down at the screen to change music while driving.

    • @ItsBinhRepaired
      @ItsBinhRepaired  Рік тому

      That's what I figured, minus the paddle braking

    • @ItsBinhRepaired
      @ItsBinhRepaired  3 місяці тому

      The best thing about that paddle, is it almost guarantees you never need the brake penal and are using regen braking to the max.

    Not to nitpick, but 90 seconds in, I've gotten multiple "I don't know what this does" and "this doesn't seem to do anything" and I'm looking for another video. I don't need a guy who doesn't know what the buttons do: I *am* that guy.

      Haha The one button was extra regen braking as others have mentioned. The nice thing about UA-cam is it's a community of people, so anything I didn't know, people will mention it in the comments.

      @@ItsBinhRepaired misleading information is worse than no information. I'll give you an example: you said that one of the buttons was to set follow distance. There is no follow distance on that car because there's no adaptive cruise. You could have someone setting that thinking the car will have adaptive cruise and could get into an accident because it doesn't. How about you just talk about the things you actually know and not mislead about what you don't. It's for collision warning btw.

    Buttons behind steering wheel is the volume and changing

  • @BasicMike
    @BasicMike 2 місяці тому

    why make a video about how to use a car if you haven't read the manual or experimented with the car to learn about the neat features? The lever behind the steering wheel is a regen lever. Holding it down will apply braking while regening the car. Even in single-pedal mode, the regen lever will add additional braking and charging to the battery. If you don't have single-pedal mode engage, he regen paddle will hold the car at a stop from drifting forward.
    the buttons on the left side of the behind the steering wheel change the radio station, or advance or rewind a podcast or other media. The buttons on the right side behind the wheel adjust radio volume. If you console is set to the media mode, you can manually scroll up and down the station with the thumb wheel on the right side.

    • @ItsBinhRepaired

      That's called regenerative braking. Don't turn it off unless you want to greatly reduce the efficiency of your vehicle. Need to learn to adjust your use of the accelerator pedal and gradually lift your foot off.

    Of all the different videos that show the Bolt's operating system, this one is excellent. Oh that left steering wheel paddle when pushed drains the wheel movement faster for the regen. This slows down the car faster for a stop!

  • @ladyaridette9661
    @ladyaridette9661 3 місяці тому

    Somewhat useful. Everyone has said it before; you probably want to do more research before you upload this type of video. It also does not look good to tell people, who come to your video for information, to just go and find the information elsewhere. That's just bad business for your UA-cam channel, and then on top of that you ask for donations in your description. Why would I donate to someone who can't be bothered to put more effort into the knowledge and presentation of a video that's supposed to be informational. Sure, you don't know everything about the car since you don't drive it, but you could have used that to open up a discussion for people to talk about what they know or if you missed anything. It's fine if you don't know, and I'm not sure what motivated you to make this video since it's, as you've said repeatedly, not your car, but the lack of confidence and information on your part makes me not want to check out your other videos. Just a thought and critique if you're actually trying to be purposeful. Seems like a weak money grab at this point.

    • @ItsBinhRepaired
      @ItsBinhRepaired  3 місяці тому

      @ladyaridette9661 it depends how people go about it. If you watch a video and go boo you suck, you didn't know a lot of things, you think I'll be like, let's learn more together?
      If they said, did you ever find out what this does or is for? Then that's different.
      Imagine learning addition in school and then the kid says, can you solve this calculus equation? And after saying no, the student goes booo you don't know anything. Why should I learn math from you? You think the teacher will want to help the kid figure it out?
      I made this video for people who can't be bothered to even go through all the menus.
      I made the video because my friend said the car was stupid because it didn't lock itself after getting out. I found out that it was possible, so I decided to make a video going through every feature/setting I could find.
      Over 50% of people probably didn't even know there were buttons behind the steering wheel. Just because something is useless to some, doesn't mean it's useless to everyone.
      I wouldn't go to elementary school to learn and then tell teachers they're stupid for not being able to teach things at my level.
      People that read the manual and know all the features, what did they expect? I didn't say it's a video about secret hidden unknown features.
      If you noticed in the comments, when people were actually helpful and said they knew what it did, I said thank you.
      If you think it's dumb, you don't need to watch it. My content has a very wide variety. The most useful are the unedited disasseblies of computers and other electronic devices, but again, everyone watches things for different reasons. Some complain they're not edited perfectly, others appreciate the learning experience, and others like being able to clearly see how things are done, then there are those that just want entertainment. You can't please everyone.
