LOL.

Faux faux archi faux.

201 minutes of space idiocy
Kubrick avait donc raison...
3 interesting and partly quite extensive comments I found on his last film- Eyes Wide Shut- which Stanley Kubrick (possibly) paid for with his life.
1st comment by Aryl Takayama:
1. exposing the elites
The machinations of the elite are a central theme that is addressed in many of Kubrick's films - especially in "Barry Lyndon". An elite, i.e. a small but very wealthy and powerful group in society that lives out its own (a-)moral rules and is not comprehensible and certainly not accessible to outsiders like Bill (Tom Cruise). Eyes Wide Shut clearly depicts occult rituals that take place in secret and involve more than just sex. However, in the attempt to expose the elite, Bill, i.e. in a sense the viewer, is unmasked and exposed and by extension threatened and intimidated - "you would hurt your family too".
2. paedophilia
As in his masterpiece "Lolita", paedophilia occupies an important, albeit here a rather subtle, position in Eyes Wide Shut. This becomes clear, of course, in the scene in the costume shop "Rainbow Fashion", both at night and the following day. But Bill's young daughter, Helena, may also be a victim of the elite. In transforming the book into a modern film, Kubrick takes some liberties, which he uses skilfully and thoughtfully, recognisable, among other things, in the names of the characters, which all deviate from the original. Helena's name - possibly based on Helen of Troy, who is stolen by Paris - is written in the colours of the rainbow on the door of her room. Later, she asks for a dog as a Christmas present that can protect her. In her very first scene, she is shown in a butterfly costume with wings when she asks her parents if she could see the "Nutcracker". In the final scene when Bill, Alice and Helena are shopping in the toy shop, Helen holds up a Barbie doll with a costume from the "Nutcracker" in her hand before following two men and disappearing at the end of the film. Is Helena, like most of the women in Eyes Wide Shut, just an object of male desire?
Additionally:
Eyes Wide Shut is missing 24-25 minutes that never appeared and were edited out after Kubrick's death, leaving many transitions rigid and many questions unanswered such as:
Who was the person under the white mask who immediately recognised and greeted Bill from the balcony in the castle after he entered the room. The same person later searched for Bill in the castle and hired one of the naked ladies on him.
And yes, in these times of exposing powerful men like Weinstein, Epstein, etc., this film shows what is going on in the background much more powerfully than at the time of its release.
2nd comment on this from Yawnpawn1:
I can only agree EWS has tremendous depth. EWS is like a massive message.
It is clearly about elites.
The infinite wealth is obvious.
The free, uncompassionate disposal of people as well.
The unlimited possibilities as well. Ziegler knows the official details of the prostitute's death and the lack of evidence of murder; even the not so accessible ones (door locked from the inside) and quotes them from memory to Bill, although he clearly downplays the death as meaningless beforehand.
The security staff are completely professional and highly educated.
It is clearly about Satanism
The chant during the ceremony is a backwards=inverted Romanian chant of Christian content (Zisa Domnului catre ucenicii sai...Porunca noua dau voua...Domnului sa ne rugam pentru mila, viata, pacea, sanatatea, mantuirea, cercetarea, lasarea si iertarea pacatelor robilor lui Dumnezeu.).
To be heard forward here: ua-cam.com/video/2vdzA-82I-Q/v-deo.html
This would not be necessary for a simple orgy.
To Helena (possibly: Hell, in a?):
Helena comes across the pram from Rosemary's Baby, of all things, in the final sequence. It doesn't fit in the shop at all. This in turn alludes to the deliberate witnessing of victims for ritualised violence. There isn't? Here is an excerpt from ÖR television with the Federal Government Commissioner for Abuse: ua-cam.com/video/LxgP379v2yM/v-deo.html (German).
Which, by the way, also fits well with Alice. Alice does not act in a psychologically normal way by urgently offering sex to Bill at the end when she is distraught and frightened. This, in the context of what she says a few sentences earlier, fits a trauma-based mind-control technique that leads to dissociativity. Similar to the dissociative behaviour of the daughter of the costume shop owner offering her for sex.
Why do you think Alice is called Alice of all things (deviating from the original)? Alice from Wonderland, where delusion and reality can no longer be clearly distinguished, Alice who went deep down the rabbit hole as a child?
The entire film is completely crammed with content that only makes sense if you interpret it. And the most likely interpretations constantly point to a self-contained, meaningful whole.
If you don't analyse the film in depth, it remains a crude, at times badly acted relationship drama. But that is ridiculous. Why, for example, should Bill, an educated, wealthy man, buy a newspaper with a (!) huge headline reading "lucky to be alive", of all things, at the moment when he is (still?) merely being demonstratively monitored?
By the way, it's also about (satanic!) consumerism and superficial relationships.
First sentence, Bill: Have you seen my wallet?
First sentence, Alice: How do I look?
And of course about the unwillingness to see the truth, no matter how hard-core it appears (prime example Bill), numbed by greed and cowardice (his visually perfect but emotionally washed-up wife; the opulent parties of the completely amoral hosts). Just as the viewer delights in the opulence of base pleasures and does not let the deeper, more disturbing message get to him.
And, that a scene showing a room in the orgy house has a pentagram on its floor. The source downplays this as incidental (tenor of the source: "Conspiracy theory!"). It is absurd.
3rd comment by NuPunX
An interesting sidefact: The newspaper article that appears in the film and reports on the "deceased" model is written by a Larry Celona. This Larry Celona not only wrote the first article about Kubrick's death, he also happened to be the first to report on the "suicide" of Jeffrey Epstein. Coincidences do happen...This Larry Celona also appears in the credits for Eyes wide shut as a journalistic advisor.
