      @@9252LIFEFrom other reviews and videos I've seen I think those that get ones that work are the lucky ones, and there are many that end up with problems. We've had ours for about 5 years and hundreds of birds processed as well. We had to put a new GFCI plug on the wire and we also replaced the wheels because they are just too small to move it around on uneven ground to bring it out and put it away.

    Thats ruthless man. Obviously intended to be used with water but they don't even use a decent seal on the motor or make a blind hole for the shaft... Maybe just a bit of good quality silicone caulk on the open hole for the shaft would seal that up enough to stop water going down there

    Pro Tip from a HVAC company owner in Holland Mi.
    You can speed up and slow down the drum by closing and opening the pulley on the motor. Just gotta be mindful of not over-amping the motor, excellent Backwoods Engineering brother !

    • @9252LIFE
      @9252LIFE  Рік тому +1

      Do you mean adding different size pulleys will increase and decrease speed?

    • @T-Stat79
      @T-Stat79 Рік тому +1

      @9252LIFE no, most pulleys are 2 pieces and have threads, so you loosen up the outter Allen set screw and then you screw the front of the pulley (tighten) which in turn makes the pulley bigger hence the higher speeds. We do it all the time on commercial Roof Top Units to move more air, like adding boost !

    The thing about McGyver is he would have fixed the chicken plucker with a couple of paper clips, some Elmer's Glue, and a rubber band. Be that as it may, it was interesting to watch you figure out how to make it work again. In fact your fix is a better overall design. Because the motor is no longer sitting underneath the water and waste drain. You'd think that the manufacturer would have thought of that in the first place. I can see that it was frustrating to lose so many potato's. But FREE RANGE ORGANIC POTATO FED CHICKEN sounds gourmet to me.
