My Dear Robbie, I bought tulle since u recommend it using your link of course and it is a life saver. No animals tried to dig again! I watched almost your videos. Thank you
I am so happy it’s working great for you like it works for me, thank you so much for posting this ❤️😊
OH YEAH SISTER ROBBIE, GOD IS BLESSING OUR CARDBOARD BOX GARDEN. IN PLACE FERTILIZING. YOU ARE GOD SENT 🙌
How wonderful I’m so happy thanks for sharing that with me 😊❤️
I think the clear plastic cutting mats from the Dollar Tree would work as well for your tulle frames. I have one tote set up for my tomato plant. I’m excited to see how it works. Thanks for all your instructions and encouragement.
@Kathleen Krause, plastic cutting mats from Dollar Tree sounds like a good option!!
I have a couple of these. I'm going to try making a couple. 🤠
Robbie, you have always surprised me with your creation. It is not about being frugal but super creative in repurposing stuff👍
Well, I'm already slowly making 18 gallon tote Greenhouses. My hands, my body is diseased and crippled from Rheumatoid Arthritis. Robbie, you have become a lifesaver in helping my 70 year old body provide me with continued joy of my 36 years of container gardening. I had 3 chairs donated to me last weekend, and I had one chair of my own to use. As my body allows, I am preparing four 18 gallon totes for those chairs!! And, I saw ya'lls video about using cement blocks and ladders to make tables for totes. I got all excited because I happen to have some cement blocks and straps of wood here!! My daughter is coming from out of town this weekend to visit and help me. We're gonna make 2 tables for four more totes. Thank you so very much for ya'll and your channel. Because of your teaching and sharing, I'm getting to enjoy gardening again!!
So heartening to know that even those with difficulties are able to continue gardening with Robbie's tips! I'm sure I'll be developing some difficulties of my own as I get older, thanks for giving me hope. 🙂🌻
Blessings Robbie! Ever since I watched your video on turning totes into planting pots with DIY the mesh Lids. I've been doing the same thing! My hubby created a great platform to put our garden table on, & finally we can start with a raised bed planting! So thank you for your great ideas & keep em coming! Thanks again!
This is just what I need. God work's in so many ways to answer our prayers. He sure did this time through you. Hug's, & kisses. Thank you.
Thank you so much 😊
🌼🌻🐝☀️🌺👨🌾🌸🌺 You are an inspiration to me. Im growing most of my garden in containers. I can see you put a lot of work and love into growing! The best part of gardening to me is you get to see the new growth everyday it brings me so much joy! It’s the start of my 3 year gardening but there is still so much to learn and I appreciate your tips, tricks and advice! I look forward to learning more from each other as we grow!
I agree we can't worry about everything, life is to short.
You gotta be industrious, creative, and frugal. I love your approach!
How brilliant.... I lost my full time job of 21 years in November. I'm always looking for ways to save money and still grow my garden. You're a gem.
You are so dang funny!!! I just love your sense of humor, AND you're a genius too!!
By the way, love your husband garden as well💜🇯🇲🇺🇲🙏
And she's at it again!!!! 😂 All these great ideas, Robbie!! I won't tell them you sent me 😉😉😉 !! Once again, thanks for sharing with us!! Have a wonderful evening!!
Robbie. You’ve certainly convinced me that function over perfection gets the job done. Don’t know why I’ve always thought if I couldn’t do perfect it never got done. , huh?
You’ve talked and shown me to just DO!!!
METHOD IS PERFECTION and your experience sharing is PERFECT
ION!!!
Again, many thanks 👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏
MaryAnne Ramona 💪👩🏻🌾👍🦋
Robbie you are so funny! Don’t tell ‘um I sent you ! Another great video !
Get ideal! Tks for sharing this with us
Thanks 😊
My project for today was putting seeds on the wet paper towels from your video and so now im definitely going to get some flooring samples to make this and keep my new seedlings safe. Thank you for all of your videos and always helping us.
@Kathy franco, how do I find the video regarding putting seeds on wet paper towels?? Do you know the video title by chance?? Thanks for your help.
@@1blondidea i just went to the search bar and put in "robbie and gary growing seeds in paper towels " and it popped up. Hope this helps
Ok!! I'll try that!!
Robbie you're so creative!!!!! Thank you for sharing.
You are so welcome, thank you
Thanks so much for this video. The idea of trying to cut ✂️ up tote covers was seriously stressing me out.
I have one more video coming out that may work even better for you, hopefully soon, thanks 😊❤️
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy Cool 😎 I'll wait until the next video to make my covers then.
@Spicey Ky, it was aslow going for my weak Rheumatoid Arthritis hands, but I got my first 18 gallon tote cover all cut up and ready to start stapling the "greenhouse cover" together.
@@1blondidea I think I'm going with the vinyl. No need in upsetting my carpal tunnel syndrome.
I love that you keep refining your methods. This is gardening for everyone.
Thank you so much 😊
Just thinking if the old wire hangers cannot be bent together. The pointy ends can be stuck into the soil, the tulle clipped on. Will have to try! I still have a few floating around. If it works well I will look for mre!
Thanks, this will help to keep out the pest.
My tulle will be here any day now. Can't wait to spend my time gardening instead of squishing Squash Vine Borer eggs. Thanks for the link 😊 ~ Lisa
My dh has two heavy duty staplers that are not pliers. I just order myself one and will pick up a couple samples to see what would be easiest to work with. Need to get my containers put together and start planting.
I use leftover vinyl to put on my bathroom & kitchen cabinet floors - easy to clean especially if something spills😊
Robbie! You are genius!! I am going to make those for my containers!! Thank you again!!🙏🏻
Love this idea, thank you!
thank you for sharing
Thanks again for sharing Robbie I never would’ve thought about using the vinyl tile flooring for stripping to make tops on your 5 gallon bucket 🪣 and your totes.
Omg what a great idea! I am so excited I have gathered up all the totes and chairs for my chair garden and am starting seeds have already got sweet peas coming up my collard is going to seed but I don't care as I am using for fertilizer and also will leave some out for the birds! Thank you Robbie for being my hero! Jan Vancouver Island Bc 🇨🇦
All sounds wonderful, more ideas on these covers coming soon , take care thanks 😊
I am always watching 😊
Thank you for sharing❣ I also use those floor samples for coasters. Just cut to size.
This is an awesome idea. Robbie you always give us great ideas.
Hi Robbie, am new to your channel just want to say I like how you garden. I've used some of your tips and ideas, recently bought the tulle which came in 3days $11 tops was able to give some away to friends and still have more than enough for myself. Now I'll be going to home depot to check out the vinyl to make the covers. Always wondered how you did it until now. I'll be getting the freebies as well. Lol😅 watching from New Jersey 🇯🇲🇺🇲🙏
Oh don’t tell them I sent you 🤣 more on top and covers coming soon 😊
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy Oh no Robbie, wouldn't want to spoil a good thing. Have to be smart😅
Another awesome idea! Thank you so much! I need to plan a trip to Home Depot. Love to you, Gary, Kitty, and all the rest of the pups! ❤
Hi Robbie, I tried dollar tree noodles with tool to make my plant dome. It works great to keep bugs out.
I got noodles too from them, thanks for sharing 😊❤️
Will the irrigation tubing work also?
Robbie I appreciate your information so much. I would of never thought of using this. I seen your video on using tote lids cut up. Everything is working wonderfully. Thank you
That is a great idea!
This is such a great idea! I am going to make some of these for my container garden! Thanks so much for showing how to make them! Blessings and greetings from central Florida!
Thanks!
Great idea! I was wondering how to protector veggies in my round containers. Thank you for solving another problem! 🐛🪲🦟
I am still using tulle from gdau wedding! Thanks for this idea.
Excellent thank you 🔔👍🏻
I got my 10 large pots completed yesterday 7 tomato plants 4 pepper plants and 2 broccoli plants, it took 3 days, hubs helped on day 1, or I would never have gotten them completed. The only problem is they are on the ground, we did have 1 pallet he put on stacked cinder blocks which helped me add the dirt and put in the plants so I'm going to look for some more of those. I have several packs of seeds that say I can plant through June and again in August and I will be doing those soon and starting my cardboard garden. We are expecting a lot of rain the next day and a half and it should be cloudy and in the 70s. I used lots of pin oak leaves in the bottom, I also dug up parts of the yard and have only found 5 worms, so I rehomed those into the pots with the scraps I have been collecting in the freezer, 3 bags did not go very far. I may have to buy worms. LOL I will be putting in stakes and tulle next after the rains, which gives me a day or 2 to rest. It felt good to be out in the yard again. Thank You Robbie for all the information, giving me a chance to give gardening a try again.
All that sounds wonderful what you have going on there. If you found a few worms there are more, and you will see them soon around your containers. Thanks 😊
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy Got home yesterday and 5 of the planters were torn up, who knew critters would want old banana peels, coffee grounds, tea bags, and eggs shells that had been in the freezer. One pot was completely dumped over so it had to be something like a raccoon, others were just dug up, they took some of the plants, it's pouring so I haven't been out today, I had repotted the surviving plants and will buy some replacements. I'm still going to start some of the seeds I bought, I have into June to work on that. I don't think tulle would have helped but I will wrap them up to see. Hubs and I aren't able to fence in that little area. Anyway a learning experience.
My Dear Robbie I just love your videos and ideas 💡💕💕
OH, wait for the new video I am working on RIGHT NOW, I think it may also work perfect for you on "tops", Thank you so much 😀
Hi Robbie this is my next project because it will do double duty in my area keep both rain and bugs outwe get too much rain this idea will cut down on the rain and keep bugs out! Thank you for this great idea!
Could you use several of those plastic straps that are around big boxes to make one of these? I couldn't believe I missed Hobby Lobby's sale on tulle. It was a really good price. We've been busy and I forgot. You rock.
I have flooring leftover, but it is fairly thick and would be harder to cut. Might have to see if there is any flooring that I like.
Robbie that's a good idea and I made me one and I love it. Think you Robbie.
Cool! Thanks 😊
Thank you for the idea of using the flooring. I don’t have totes to use the lids and I have been searching for an alternative. I even have some flooding left over from our remodel so this idea will work well.
More to come on this soon 😊
I have seen people we use the mesh laundry bag from dollar tree over tomato cages.
Done
😍😍😍😍
Hi Robbie! You are so inventive! Love this! How do you clean your vegetables after you harvest them? My lettuce is very buggy!
1st, drop the leaves into a big bowl of cool water, the bugs don't like to drown, so will release from the lettuce leaves. Afraid there's no substitute I know for finishing with a close inspection of each leaf as you get it out of the water, & handpicking off any that are left. Good Luck 🍀
Correct me if I'm wrong.. it looks like, as a bonus, the ring being inside the bucket, it would keep the whole thing in place better in strong winds (it's blowing about 25mph here at the moment)
I started seeds and plants in trenches to help protect the little ones from wind until they got stronger. I have the space to garden in the yard.. it felt wasteful to to not use it, so I'm planted in the ground.
I think I'm going to do something similar with bird netting. I need the pollinators but have birds that eat the tops off my plants.
I wonder where to look for real linoleum remnants.. it's just linseed oil. I know it's not cheap anymore, when you can find it.
Is there a special aspect of the toule? I ordered some a year ago the holes are so tiny that I had to remove it as the plants weren't getting enough air flow. So to get the larger holes what do I look for in my order? Thank you for your time.
Will the tulle keep squash bugs off zucchini plants? I would have to hand pollinate ?
I am trying to think if there would be something else to use instead of the flooring stuff.
Interesting shirt! Did u design it?😊
Robbie, I must have crazy chipmunks, well I have 2 crazy chipmunks, they dig up my tulle and get into the containers, they jump all over the place 😫😡
Has tulle helped keep aphids off pepper plants? If not, do you know a way to keep aphids off them? I never get any peppers because the aphids kill my plants every year. I love this idea for shading my plants either way!
Plant nasturtium nearby. They will draw the aphids away from the other plants. You plant the nasturtium a few feet away. Especially the yellow ones. The aphids are drawn away from the plants you want. The nasturtium will be the bait/sacrifice for the aphids.
@@tammyfritschie1697 Thank you so much for the tip! I'll try that!
@@breezybest6064
Ps. After all the aphids are done, any nasturtium that are left are edible.
@@tammyfritschie1697 That makes it even better then! I'll plant more in other places too so i can taste them!
How will vinyl hold up in the heat wave?
Might be good to double it up (staple 2strips together) when makings it if you get real hot
Squirrels are getting into my tomatoes! 😠 first it was slugs and spider mites, then hail, now this. Arrrgh!!
Try tulle
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy thanks! I saw your tulle video. I'll give it a go!
You mentioned it had fiberglass? Would you want that potentially leaching into the soil? js
Thank you for this fantastic idea. My vegtable garden is being eaten by animals. I'm going to buy some tomorrow. X 🥕🥒🥬🥦🍓🍓
