I believe it was a couple coyotes that attacked my husky retriever when we first moved up north in Michigan. Either that or a wolf pack but a couple nights later this noise was the same that I heard probably a few hundred yards away from my house
When I was a teenager, we had a husky and her name was "Blue eyes." She was one of the best dogs we ever had and she was quite a character. Anyway, whenever we Heard sirens just like that out on the road nearby, she let out this super mighty loud howling. Even sometimes when the moon was full she'd lay out in the moon lit ground and howl at the moon. Or even if we heard coyotes nearby, she'd howl at them too. But I remember when I graduated from highschool, we had a party there and I had some friends come over along with a few teachers and a couple of nearby neighbors. One point, there was a police siren on the road and this time, not only did Blue eyes howl, but the rest of the dogs howled along with her. We had a German shepherd, a black Labrador and 2 beagles. I'll never forget it. Especially the way everyone reacted. One of my friends came back outside from using the bathroom and he asked "what was all that noise?" I don't remember what I said but it was kind of a reference in the form of a joke.
I find them so relaxing weirdly 😂 I used to fall asleep to them singing. If you howl to them, they'd howl back..so cool. I loved scaring friends in the dark showing them lol
I just heard this (and hear it often, especially as it gets warmer) so I finally looked up coyote packs howling and this is EXACTLY what I heard. Pretty cool.
I went to a museum today. Heard the sound of coyotes. Freaking uncanny, wild and beautiful all at once. This video is what comes closest. OK, the first coyote, 0:04- 0:25, probably the lead of the pack, alerted the others that it was indeed ok to react to these weird sirens. These natural-born sirens did not know what to make of those fake sirens at first, and were spooked. The leader confirmed their perception. You can see it starting from 0:25. They're at it (reacting) till 1:06, THEN you start hearing doubt about the validity of it all (obvious from 1:12-1:18 and on). They conclude that these fake sirens are not to worry about, not even worth their time. Funny though, the 6 second silence between 0:19-0:25. Why didn't they react immediately to the sound of the leader? Like they gave themselves some legit ponding time. Or were they waiting for l'éminence grise at 0:25-0:26 to also give the signal?
I've been living in Humboldt Park , Chicago for almost 10 years. Last winter I had one of the most amazing experiences of my life: I love 3am walks. They are peaceful and spiritual. I walked towards the big "rock feature" and out of nowhere I heard what sounded like a high pitched melodic bark. I loved the sound but I didn't catch what it was so I started to mimic it and then it called back. I did it again; and they called back again. It was very cool! But I got scared because they got closer very quick.... I walked away slowly; looked next to me and there it was. A big messy Coyote. We looked at each other and went back home with a huge smile on my face! : )
Prob not the only one who heard yippin' at night, and decided to check youtube. My suspicions were confirmed, that I definitely heard a pack of coyotes.
Ugh I grew up living in the middle of the woods, and this is one of the creepiest sounds to wake up to in the middle of the night, especially if you don’t know what the sound is at first.
This woke me up last night at 2am in Connecticut. They were right outside my bedroom window. I opened the window and yelled STFU and I heard them running away through the leaves. Its a cool sound, but I wasn't happy about being woken up lol.
Once I was camping and there was a pack in the distance. I woke up periodically to them getting closer until they sent a scout I guess. Could literally see it casting a shadow on my tent. Creepy as hell haha
I have a hunting pack that has been in the woods next to my property for years now. Had one walk nearly up to me one night, as it moved along my tree line. They do sound scary, but I love them. I pray they are not hungry at night. It hurts my heart thinking they are out there hungry. I feel this way for all the animals.
I feel a weird sense of camaraderie knowing that I'm not the only person who's ever arrived here after wondering if that crazy screaming was actually coyotes and not every dog in the neighborhood going buck-wild
I live close to the Mall of America, one night as my husband and I were going to bed we heard sirens go by. As a joke I quoted the movie Zootopia and said "stop, you're going to start a howl". Immediately after I said that two coyotes started howling. It was perfect timing.
Not at all likely. They're terrified of humans and the only time they would wander this far into a densely populated area would be because their starving. Not much else to worry about as an human, but a lone child or a lone pet would definitely be targeted to hunt. Their also quite dumb animals so their vigilance and leadership is not always going to be the best or the brightest... they howl after they have gone patrolling solo and the alpha wishes to regroup the pack, or to put the word out to every swingin dick in the city that this is their turf now. This often backfires as it spooks nearby prey causing them to travel even further out alone to find something to eat. This group has apparently given up for the time being and resorted to being assholes who just "wanna have some cats and eat them too." 🤦♂️ bad dad joke... Anyways, these little shits are awful and they would typically be dispatched or removed by DNR or local law enforcement. Most states allow you to hunt them all year long without any license, unless you're a trapper and you're selling the males pelts to companies like Canada Goose jacket company who uses coyote fur in their hoods. Cheers. 👌🤷♂️

I love wolves and I love their howls. A coyote howl however, especially a pack is what my nightmares are made of
I love the coyote sounds lol.
Heard this sound coming from the woods few nights ago. Scared the s#$+ out of me! 😀
At least their coyotes and not a skinwalker or a sasquatch. 🤔😒
I love it and miss hearing them
I've heard that sound before, and it was pure nightmare fuel.
Same I heard it last night
It scares the sex out of you?
I love coyotes, I used to share a wooded are with them when I was homeless. We bumped into each other several times in the middle of the night but they never messed with me and I didn't mess with them.
They are amazing animals, that's pretty much been my experience with them too. Hope you're doing well these days man.
I don't love coyotes. They are dog killers and child killers. I shoot em whenever I can.
@@steves4966 be a responsible dog owner and parent and you wont have issues with them. Keep your dog on a leash at night and bring a flashlight. They make coyote vests for little dogs now, but you handling your dog in a well lit area will be enough to deter them
@@nbee777 a rifle does a good job too
@@nbee777 wrong
And they say Coyotes don't run in packs lol. Btw hide your cats and small dogs in this neighborhood
I believe it was a couple coyotes that attacked my husky retriever when we first moved up north in Michigan. Either that or a wolf pack but a couple nights later this noise was the same that I heard probably a few hundred yards away from my house
@@theshowmustgoon7468 obviously not wolf cause they would snap your dog in half with there bite force, so most likely coyotes
Coyotes will hunt in packs when food is scarce but they generally prefer being loners.
Aren't any dogs or cats left in this area, they are easy pickings for these guys.
It's why I'm not seeing cats walk outside in arizona
I've seen wild coyotes up close and I think what a lot of people don't realize is how small coyotes are. Also very cute.
When I was a teenager, we had a husky and her name was "Blue eyes."
She was one of the best dogs we ever had and she was quite a character.
One of my friends came back outside from using the bathroom and he asked "what was all that noise?"
I don't remember what I said but it was kind of a reference in the form of a joke.
I see them all the time walking my dog at night. They're scary but I love and respect them.
Jay Gasper wait so the coyotes just hang out with your dog?
I saw one cross the road at night behind me once, it was huge. Scared the * out of me. Very quiet though.
@@kaya9718 I believe she said the coyotes actually walk her dog at night. That’s nice of them.

I find them so relaxing weirdly 😂 I used to fall asleep to them singing. If you howl to them, they'd howl back..so cool. I loved scaring friends in the dark showing them lol
I'm hearing coyotes right now and rushed to this video to make sure I was hearing the same thing. Spot on. Thank you.
The good the bad and the ugly brought me here. Ennio Morricone mentioned the music for this movie was inspired by the howling of the coyotes.
Just heard these the other night while camping in the badlands. What a beautiful sound.
"Awoooooo"
"What are you doing your gonna start a howl?!?"
"That wasn't me?!?!"
"Awoooooooo"
"Oh n- awooooo"
"Awoooooo"
Future Potato zootopia
Once I was camping and there was a pack in the distance. I woke up periodically to them getting closer until they sent a scout I guess. Could literally see it casting a shadow on my tent. Creepy as hell haha
It left, it didn’t try to look for trouble?
F#@k that. Sincerely, an Aussie.
😂
They are just cute little puppies.
Puppies that will eat your face off.
Cheers. 👌🤷♂️
My grammar and spelling in that post.....🤦♂️
I got so excited the first time i heard a coyote pack and i joined them
What a beautiful night it was
At Yoem Pueblo, we heard coyotes howling and they sounded like Native American spirits cheering, it was the most chilling yet beautiful thing ever.
I’m a coyote therian and want to hear a reference to some coyote sounds to help with vocals and this video helped!!❤
Their glowing eyes makes it look and sound extra terrifying
I grew up in forest-y California and moved to Florida recently, I’ve missed hearing these beautifully horrible sounds in the distance, haha! It’s oddly comforting, in a way. Maybe just because I grew up with it.
I live in Florida and my balcony is completely open to the back where there's just a bunch of woods. I heard this last night at 2am while I was reading and my dad was playing his VR. Since around this time it was pretty cold i left the door open and i hear this. It was terrifying. Even my dad was scared.
2am?💀💀
I remember hearing a pack of coyotes howling in the woods by my aunt’s backyard at night after finishing salting her driveway and I was terrified and raced back into her house.
I love that sound! Use to hear all the time in rural Missouri. They go crazy and then just stop.
Was just taking my pups for a walk and literally same exact scenario, they were howling in response to an ambulance siren 😂
My chihuahua does that too! 🤣
I've never heard these guys in real life. I needed to hear them so I could get in my reading mood. I'm currently reading Stephen King's Desperation, lots of coyotes howling in that cursed town. Tak!
I hear this every night and it literally sounds like I’m living in hell
Camping in a campground right now 5 miles into the woods. This woke me up out of a deep sleep. Scared the sh*t outta me.
I heard coyotes last night. It sounds like a pack of thousands howling.
So, I was out walking last night. We live in a mobile home park, surrounded by SOME woods. There are also newly built homes, in our area. I heard what sounded like a bunch of kids screaming, but now searching for coyote sounds on youtube. Your channel confirmed what I heard. I quickly walked home.
Looked this up to confirm if what I heard outside my window was a coyote glad to say it totally was and now I’m wondering what it’s doing
am i the only one who think this sounds kinda cute? maybe im just too used to being in the country
I was camping on some dunes in Oregon very very alone in a bivvy sack and these guys woke me up at 2am and I kept scaring the hell out of myself with every little sound around me
I miss hearing the cries of our coyotes in my childhood hills in good ol' Port Costa, Calif...
Every evening when the moon rose, ⛼🌜🌘 🌠 over our hills & bay, they'd cry out with such excitement & joy - you'd never hear them on moonless nights!!!
I especially loved hearing the new pups "Yip" as they learned how to "Howl!"

Tonight I woke up around midnight to hear exactly this. I knew that we had lots of coyotes nearby but I never knew they sounds like that. I heard it and literally thought something was dying, since there has been lots of attacks recently
I remember the first time I heard coyotes while out on my deck. I was horrified. Those sounds while alone in the dark are terrifying! I got goodbumps just listening to this! Eeek!
seriously the most ominous thing you can hear in the woods at night
I came to hear this because I heard about 10 of them on the side of my townhome. We have woods over here, and they Iike to pick up the stray cats. I’m in Minnesota
I heard this last night in a rural part of central PA but with no barking. It only lasted a few seconds. I also heard it in a gated community outside Phoenix early this month, also short with no barking, but in fits and starts.
Lol came here to confirm that it was definitely a couple coyotes that woke me up while camping. Kinda scary when you’re in a tent and hear them. Especially when one was right near my campsite and decided to wander through. I’m surprised my dogs didn’t even wake up 😂
Man, I remember hearing coyotes howling back during BEAST week in Air Force BMT. I was on watch with a friend and right around like...midnight or so, we heard a pack of them just yapping and howling away. It was pretty surreal.
That one Coyote is just soooo HAPPY!!! OMG! Like, it's just too cute! He's super excited!!
Gives a whole new meaning to "Siren Call" 😆 They're mimicking the sirens.
Damn coyotes I thought there was a car crash outside my house
Thank you for confirming what I just heard outside my window.
1:28 I like how the Coyote Pack stops howling when they hear the sirens of a cop car so far away
Sirens got them howling ☺️
I live next to a long stretch of wetlands, and every once in a blue moon I have seen a coyote. I've always wanted to get my phone out and snap a pic and take a video. They're so fast and run back into the wetlands. Awesome seeing them.
I play this for my cats so they don't want to go outside in the dark. We live by a park in a city and there are coyotes.
That one has severe mange I hope he’s ok.. last time I saw a coyote with that bad of a mange case he had rabies
Brittany Fogarty Nah He Happened to wander into a Meth lab a Week prior that is all! his other coyote buddies called the ambulance but they drove right past them #CoyoteLivesMatter!
Jon MacDonald omg that’s funny poor thing 😂
Haha poor guy, rumour has it they're still trying to find him.
Brittany Fogarty which one
@@theydidntsaythisai the one with barely any fur. his tail's between his legs when the camera's on him. Poor guy.
I love how they sing their absolute hearts out
My apartment complex is right next to a nature preserve, so I’ve been hearing them the past couple nights. It’s strange because I’ve lived here for nearly 5 years and this is the first time I’ve heard them here.
They're not even in unison, they're just doing it for the hell of it 😂
You're the only person I've ever seen get THIS close and catch them doing this, I've dreamed of this for years to see this with my own eyes brings tears to my eyes liked and favorited!!!
Damn imagine walking home at night and hearing that😄
You get used to it lol
I just did last night. It freaking scaaaareeed me!
literally just happened to me
Note to self and anyone else: Dont watch this at midnight when your alone lol gave me nightmares
My cat even started going crazy hearing this
1:16 That one looked like it's taking a poop while yapping! 🤣🤣🤣
I imagine those sirens were hurting their ears is why they howled. My chihuahua does that! Lol
I’ve heard them a few times in Ohio and once in Pennsylvania, and every time I do it scares the crap out of me!
Just heard them here in Ohio for the first time at about 145am. Holy.cow that was CREEPY.
I Live outside Atlanta and there is a pack behind my house who will do this at 2 AM .
ItsCoreyLynxxYall weird that I just read this at 2 am after hearing coyotes
Me too, north of the perimeter. At night about 4am.
@@houndmother2398 Sadly since I posted this the woods they coyotes lived in has been completely clear cut to build a new neighborhood.
@@ItsCoreyLynxxYall What a surprise. It's Atlanta after all. They just did the same thing at a church behind me to build another baseball fied.
Was high on shrooms. Really high like 7gs and was in my woods at dawn.. Heard that sound and it seemed pretty close. Came out in a hurry as I was quite deep inside the woods. Looked back and it was dark. Felt like a movie type of thing. Good times.
You mean dusk?
I play this for my inside cats (a litter of Siberians I fostered & kept) so they can learn & help build their street smarts.
Funny thing is, my cats ignore most of the neighborhood dog convos. But there is one distinct bark that seems to be universal in the animal world & thats the "coyote is here" sound off.. freaks my cats out.. they will pace & growl, looking out the windows, finding one another so they all growl together.
These videos are great, Thank you for sharing!
I used to live in Dallas, and I live in the Texas Hill country. I saw more coyotes in Dallas, along undeveloped land along a creek, than I have seen in the Texas Hill country which is very rural.
Coyotes are in this area and we do here than at night sometimes. But I have not seen one in 16 years.
I must admit I do like the sound its quite haunting when they howl
I love it, it doesnt scare me at all, i think its amazing
They're all mourning the death of a relative. They just learned their cousin in the Arizona desert was killed when his new explosive device from Acme prematurely detonated...!
That darn roadrunner...
lmao
They respond to that siren like WEVE ALL BEEN GOOD BOYS OUR LORD.
In their defense, a police siren does sound like some type of giant techocoyote. Digital King of Coyotes.
LMAO this is the best comment 🤣
Camping in mountains so Cal, end of season so alone, drinking beer, big fire, then darting by, one then another, many pair of glowing eyes, maybe 20 sets, huge racket........I slept in truck lol
