  • Learn how to frame tall walls like a pro with this ultimate guide! We'll cover everything from balloon framing to roof rafters to help you become an awesome framer.
    Whether you're a DIY enthusiast or a professional builder, this video will show you the best practices for framing walls, including tips and tricks to make the process easier. You'll also learn about different types of framing techniques and how to choose the right one for your project. So let's get started and build that dream house!
    Let's get into framing tall walls, siding them and then hoisting them safely. In this video, we'll get into all of that and save a lot of time. Working smarter, not harder. Here is an article in The Journal of Light Construction covering some of what is shown here shorturl.at/eiHX5
    Truss Jib cornerstone-industries.com/ho...
    The tools I use and recommend acmetools.pxf.io/AwesomeFramers
    Please remember that I'm not showing the best way to do anything, but just the method that works well for us. Thanks for watching!
    Oh and another takeaway, if you use a drone for commercial work, you need to be part107 certified. Commercial work includes social media like UA-cam if you plan to make an income off of that. I watched a video about this last May and then purchased the Part 107 Course sso.teachable.com/secure/2458... I studied and learned for 1 month and then took my test. I scored a 95%, which is a testament to how good Greg and the crew over there teach. That link will save you $100 off the course and support this channel.

    For me, you are a perfect balance of good quality work methods, excellent videography, light and comical banter of the perfect dosage, and very good instruction! Wow! I couldn’t imagine a framer out there that wouldn’t benefit. Thank you.

    Slow is smooth, smooth is fast!
    I love that motto but I didn't abide it in my years of framing.
    I'm 42 with and have framed for 24 years, I have had carpel tunnel surgery on both hands. My grip and hands are already bad at my age. I didn't take care of my body and nobody around me encouraged it, it just want talked about.
    But now a days I tell the young guys to take care of themselves.

    I can say for sure a clean job is safe. Not only that, walking on saw dust or dirt on a solid surface will rob you of energy. Yes, when your foot slips just that little bit, it creates an inefficient use of your energy. I found many years ago that a clean floor will make your day easier.

    Just found your channel and I'm glad I did. Getting ready to build a 30'x70' work shop with 12' eaves and an 8/12 pitch. I was undecided if I wanted to stick frame the roof or use trusses that I would build. Thanks for the videos.

    I can see that using a form of raking shore on those big walls would be handy. That way you can just spin to get the walls plumb, especially handy with only 2 people.

    Never seen windows installed into walls on the floor. And then stood up. Do you have one guy on each window when ylu are plumbing walls? must have a nice inspector, they would never let that slide here.

    I don't care how thick subfloor is but, 2x10 every 24" seems like a super flimsy floor with lots of flex. I bet that as soon as the joists settle and glue dries it's gonna be more squeeky that a Japanese nightingale floor. Plain silly design just to save a couple of thousand bucks in materials.

    • @AwesomeFramers
      @AwesomeFramers  5 місяців тому

      You don't care how thick the subfloor is? Then you aren't interested in learn eh?

    • @interesting7906
      @interesting7906 5 місяців тому

      @@AwesomeFramers Not much to learn, this is america, no subfloor is going to be above 5/8 or 3/4 at the best depending on local codes. It may be ok while the material is new and grippy but as soon as the moisture drops by 5-10% seasonally is going to become a springboard. I am sure all the floors have calculated by the same people that tested the Boeing 737 max that blew apart in mid air, so that tells you what I think about engineers.
