    I use them on my 4Runner. I work in West Texas in the oil and gas fields. I beat the hell out of tires and when it rains the mud is crazy and these tires are the best I have ever used. I don't use straight mud tires because I drive around 300 miles highway miles to get from where I live to where I work. I have 32,000 miles on the tires atm with about 40% tread left. I will no hesitate to buy another set.

    How is your gas mileage with these tires? I have mud terrains now on my Chevy and my mileage has dropped to around 14.4 mpg. I’m looking to get a set of all terrain or hybrids that’ll help my mpg’s at least a little bit

    • @sethtyndall4447
      @sethtyndall4447  6 років тому

      I dont think you'll see much difference in mpg between the MT and a AT. I lost 3 mpg going to these tires but not due to tread pattern the stock tires were a 32s these are a 35s. If you want the gas milage back go to a smaller tire and get the tread pattern you want

    Would many miles did you get out of these tires. I currently have 20k miles on mine (on a Cummins) and the tread is getting really worn and noisy. I think by 30k they will be nearly bald. If I can’t get 30k out of them I won’t buy them again.

      Well we have the ko2s on the wifes jeep. About 50% tread and I canr hear them in the jeep. The grapplers on the truck I can hear at 30 mph windows down and radio off. But thats it and its not really loud at all.

    Mud tires fill a specific purpose. No other tires will be anywhere close to being as good for mud. After watching this video I can say this.
    That not one time on the video did I see any terrain that I would not drive a highway tread tire on. But at the beginning he said the word that
    sums it all up....compromise.
    People are getting so wimpy about the noise which mud tires make and so all their complaining to the tire industry has cause a reduction in the
    usefulness of most all of the tires other than street tires. There is that word again...compromise.
    I have no doubt that these tires will produce better results on the type of terrain that they were shown riding on than plain street tires.
    So if you do drive on gravel roads these tires will work. But mud tires are for mud.

      The_Safe_Haven I have these tires on my 2019 f150 and they ride harder than the oem hancook at2s that came with the truck. I kind of miss the soft plushy suv ride of the oem wheels but these nitto ridge grapplers are suppose to be tough and handle abuse. Theres always got to be a trade off. Its a 10 ply E rated tire so I usually ride around with 50 psi and it feels kinda rough over pot holes and bumps.Smooth and silent but rough.

    Just installed a set today and on the drive home I was already very impressed with road noise & off the line traction! 35x12.5x20, 2015 RAM 1500 4x4. Was running the Firestone Destination, same size. The Firestone's stats were micro cracking, chunks of tire missing from center of tire, etc. at 9715.7 miles (3.5 years old tires) the day the Nitto's were installed (Today 1.16.2019). I was happy with Firestone but was surprised of the wear with 2500 mile rotation and balance. 99.5% on road...maybe that was the problem!
    Peace

I live in a area with nasty weather and the tires I have do amazing in all conditions. I wouldn’t mind trying something different but I wanna get as close as I can to the tires I have now. I wanna try these but I’m afraid that for the price I hope they perform as good or better then what I have now. As it is I’ll be getting another set of the Wildpeaks by this summer if I can’t decide

    Thanks bro, I’ve had the BFG’s, the Wrangler Dura Trac, and I’m just finishing up on a set of the Nitto Trail Grapplers. I love an aggressive pattern and off-road performance, but need a quiet smooth ride on the road. I think this tire hits the sweet spot and your video helped me make my decision. Thanks for the video!

    Great review bud! I’ve got these on my new silverado and agree these are awesome on/off-road! My last couple trucks I only ran Toyo MTs which I still love and may replace with those once these wear out. Never had the trail graps but like the look of them, driven a couple trucks with them on and agree they were not only louder but rode crappy as well imo. My toyo mts would get a bit louder as they started wearing down but otherwise were a great tire!

    Ive watched all your lift build vids (i know you havent been active on here in a minute) and I am essentially copying your set up. You have referenced 2 different size tires in your videos. Are they 11.5 or 12.5? TIA

      Awesome, thanks for quick reply! Sweet truck by the way, ive watched all your Silverado videos probably 30 times a piece. Last question, do you think 12.5s would have rubbing issues?

    • @sethtyndall4447
      @sethtyndall4447  5 років тому

      Thank you! 12.5 should be good mine rubs the tab on the front bumper if I'm turning and hit a bump. I can send you pics if you want to see what I'm talking about. The biggest thing that will cause you issues with rubbing is your offset the more that tire sticks out of the wheel well the more its gonna rub(thanks to chevys square wheel well).

    • @907iceage
      @907iceage 6 років тому +1

      Seth Tyndall I think it would, because water and other debris might get into the shock cylinder. Might cause it squeak or something. This was just my understanding, don’t take my word for it lol. Nice truck by the way! I just purchased a white 2015 Chevy duramax High country and I’m looking on doing the same lift as you did.

    Nice review - I'm thinking of adding these Ridge Grapplers to my 2018 F150. Do you have any experience with how they handle in snow, as we get snow where we live. Also, I currently have BFG T/A KO2's on mine, and you mentioned you have used them in the past. Per road noise, are the Ridge Grapplers louder or the about the same compared to the BFG's? Most of my driving is on paved highway roads so I don't want a really noisy tire. My BFG's are pretty quiet, so wondering how the Ridge Grapplers compare per street noise. Thanks, sweet truck you have there.

As far as road noise I would say they are about the same the wifes jeeph as the bfg at ko2 now and I cant tell a difference between them and my truck with the nittos

    Road noise is not an issue to me. I am more concerned about milage/life of the tire. I do about 90 interstate miles round trip for work daily. I'm a weekend (easy - moderate trails) off-roader and can't afford tire replacement just for a look. From what I hear on other videos this is a 50K+ mileage tire if rotated properly. WORKS FOR ME! Thanks for the review.
