"The Lion Sleeps Tonight" is a song originally written and recorded by Solomon Linda under the title "Mbube" for the South African Gallo Record Company in 1939. Linda's original was written in Zulu, while the English version's lyrics were written by George David Weiss. The song was adapted and covered internationally by many pop and folk revival artists in the 1950s and 1960s, including Henri Salvador, the Weavers, Jimmy Dorsey, Yma Sumac, Miriam Makeba, and the Kingston Trio.
I have listened to many versions of this song ever since I was a young boy. This version stands far apart from the rest. Excellent!

A lot of folks on here are saying "man this guy is so talented" but as a guitar player myself let me tell you, it is not just talent. It takes a lot of practice and discipline to be able to play like this man plays. Anyways, great job brother this is just a joy to hear.

I started aged 24 in 2009, first instrument. Practiced on a regular basis, as far as work/life allowed me to - got to a decent level, but still not close to him.
I'm also a fingerstyler but the thing he arrange songs is completely different. That is beyond excellency!

I have watched this video hundreds of times. I have never been to this place, but whenever I see him play, it feels like home. His renditions make me feel a certain way no other music ever has. By far my favourite guitarist. It doesn't just come down to the style of guitar... its his personality and the atmosphere that he creates. No words can describe where this music takes me. I hope one day I can see him live. That would be truly amazing
