Italian Job Stunt Track Official POV

- The official POV (Point-Of-View) of The Italian Job: Stunt Track ride located at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio. This video however shows the coaster back when it was under the Paramount name. It is now known as Backlot Stunt Coaster. This ride is also replicated at Canada's Wonderland, and Kings Dominion.
-Due to many comments questioning the effects used in the ride, I want to add that many on the effects that are seen/heard in the video are not used anymore.
I missed it when the Backlot Stunt Coaster was the Italian Job Stunt Track!
I wish it was still like this today with all the Italian Job theming and effects working like how it was when this ride was brand new!

Once Paramount sold the parks to Cedar Fair, everything changed completely. Paramount gave great theming to all the rides
I miss the effects in the middle being used to it's full ability. Mainly the water shooting across the track, the helicopter moving, and the water jets that go right before you launch. The water jets that would shoot out used to always make me jump. No matter how many times I rode.
I think taking out all the special affects and audio was a mistake. They should've kept it.

i was with my friends and it started raining after we went on, so we were the only ones on the ride for, like, 7 times
I love this ride, small and not very fast, but I love the aggressiveness it has for its size. And it's freaking SMOOTH!
it launches you once more coming out from the tunnel, you can feel it if you pay attention, but if you don't know about it it's hard to tell...
I agree, the ride is much more intense than it looks.

No one is holding the camera, it is a mounted camera the park set up, thus why it is called the official POV.
I miss paramounts KI, I had not went in years and when I did it was ALL Snoopy and the rides had diff names :(
I miss when Kings Island was still Paramount...but its still fun none the less :) I love this ride :)
My little brother is scared of the helicopter and my little sister is scared of the fire, but we ride it all the time. We love it!
i'm so excited..i'm going to wonderland this thursday wih some friends from school! i want to go on this so badly

@jenniewoods1966 first it drops a little to the left, then it tilts you from side on the track as it makes an S-bend, and then it drops out of the tunnel. it doesn't go upsdie down, but it goes more than a 90 degree angle tilted sideways. you cant really tell though, the tunnel is over so quick
Awww looks like soon to close for the season - will have to catch it later (perhaps much later) - as I am looking forward to Cheetah Hunt @ Busch Gardens. I will miss KI - this, Beast, Son of Beast (which I guess will reopen) - lots of fun there for all!
For all asking about the tunnel: I've been on it with the lights on! Just banked turns like previous parts of the ride! Best part of the ride! I personally think that the launch could use more speed! :)
this ride is one of my fav..soo fast...and goes in the dark...love it
I thought this was a kiddy ride when I was afraid to go on coasters. Now that I'm not, i still can't believe it's a 5 in Thrill.
No inversions on this ride. In the tunnel nothing happens. There is nothing that pops out. You go left and right as the track 'trick tracks' until it plunges into the aqueduct. PM me if you have anymore questions.

No it does not have a loop but it does have a corkscrew and a shooting start.
@DarkHorizon22 It was originally called that.But when Cedar Fair came, it was changed to that name since they didn't had the rights to it.
I go on June 23rd with my class for a feild trip. I know, going to Wonderland during school hours. Thats AWESOME :)
@Walkman1OldSchool1 That happens to pretty much everyone. Eventually I guess you just get used to it and even come to enjoy the feeling.
When I was younger I always used to yell on the drops and it would keep the feeling down. Some people say that holding your breath works, too, but I never tried that.
The fire completed the whole ride. That was the best part for me.

This is a great roller coaster I have not been at Kings Island but have been at Kings Dominion and its awesome. It was my first launching roller coaster and it looked so scary because it launched but it turned out to be awesome.

@Kromius99 That's cuz wonderland changed all the names, so italian job is backlot stunt coaster. this is in wonderland!
It's not worth more than a 30 minute wait but it's still a good time, everytime. Especially the tunnel at the end.
That POV felt like a movie
this ride is NOT slow it is fast! i love this ride!
You're right about it not going upside down but youre wrong about you being able to tell with the G forces. Loops pull vertical G's, just like many other parts of the ride.
Now I get why they have "You Will Get Wet" signs. They don't spray water at the coaster during the heliocopter section anymore.

Right at about 0:08 ..
After the 0 - 60mph launch (or however fast) at the beginning , where the car twists around the track going up. About the second loop around , going upwards , my surroudings started going grey til the point I woke up after the ride.
went there yesterday it seriously gets HOT on that part of the ride
This ride is so much fun. It's so fast, it may not look it, but oh it is when you're on it. It's my faovrite ride and I think everyone should go on it lol

I really like the heavy themed rides.
I went to the park with my mother and father last year and my mother does not like coaster. She did however like this ride. It is a great family coaster and a great coaster for you. Everyone is different when it comes to coasters. The ride goes 40MPH and is no more than a 1:20 long.

Last time I went on this, we got stuck at 0:44 because the coaster failed to relaunch. Problems were sorted out in less than five minutes, and the coaster relaunched so we could finish the ride. :)
I'm obsessed with roller coasters. This ride looks insane. I wanna go to Kings Island sometime and try this ride, Beast, Son Of Beast, Flight Of Fear, Invertigo, and Vortex. Especially Flight Of Fear because I love Premier launching coasters.

I'm going o nthis at Canada's Wonderland tomorrow. Don't know if i can muster up the strength to go on the Behemoth as i've only gone on one roller coaster before this.
yeah ride it I hate rollar coasters but I rode this one and I loved it :D
ive ridden this ride like 4 times in a row cause it was so much fun

@brittanyluvsfashion thts bc they re-did it over last year , then it was italian job , nd no the fire doesnt burn yu , unless ur in the very front yu can feel the heat , its great at night, now it is the , backlot stunt coaster.

Hyde Six I agree. Cedar Fairs ruined this ride by removing the fire for some cheap lights and all the water effects. I really enjoyed the water effect after the tunnel. The only good thing they did was increase the speed a bit.
I love this ride! It's different and just... Fun. Lol. I rode in the dark during the Halloween thingy so you can imagine how cool it was :P
It really does go faster ;) its pretty awesome (then again, any ride where you get to sit in mini-coopers is pretty awesome)
this is diffrent from when i rode it today
when i rode it there wasnt that voice and at the helicopter u stoped farther back and stuff didnt spray out of the barrells and u didnt get wet at the end
It is no longer a paramount park, thus all paramount related names were changed.

@01051825 There's still water and fire, but it's also faster. But there's no music and smoke and sound effects, or water squirting out of the bins. This isn't a recent video.
not the highest coaster, but one of the most fun i've ever been on mainly to that acceleration

I think the helicopter moved when I went last year. Going in a couple weeks will see then.
Yeah... All three Italian Job coasters (Kings Island, Canada's Wonderland, and Kings Dominion) are exactly the same. None of them go upside-down and all of them are precisely the same speed.

a loop is an inversion. An inversion is any element on a roller coaster that takes the rider upside down. The Backlot Stunt Coaster doesn't have and never had an inversion.
i know what u mean!!!! i've rode it 2 times, 1st time i liked it, second time, screamed the whole way through

There's no splash zone anymore, the ride goes WAY faster than this (40 mph magnetic launch), there's no smoke like there is at 0:45, There's more signs, and the billboard now says "Backlot Stunt Coaster". Wow, the ownership change sure did take ALOT out of this ride/coaster. Also, another thing I noticed on this video is that it has the "Paramount's KI" emblem on the front of the cars, so why didn't you call this "Italian Job POV"?
cause Paramount was with movies and a lot of rides were based on movies and since cedar fair isnt they changed the names.
This was the one ride in Canada's Wonderland that i've ALWAYS hated ever since the beginning!
omj, i LOVE this ride. it was my absolute fav. it's not scary, but it's super fun!

on at canada's wonderland is so fast its starts fast and ends fast too
I play around with URL's and found it however it is not online anymore.
I want the barrels to blast out water at the mid-show again..... I miss it making me jump and cooling me off a bit... I don't mind that the "splash" is gone; it was cheesy anyways.

what happened to most of those effects? the splash at the end and a bunch of other effects aren't in use today

There are no loops in the tunle... up, down, left right... but no loops. Really run coaster, though!
I think it looks fun. Maybe a good coaster for kids. They don't all have to be thrill-machines.

yeah thats true cuz i went to wonderland yesterday and i was on behemoth at night then i saw fire at the backlot im like that doesnt happen in the afternoon

It doesnt go upside down its just kinda hilly and turns alot its a fun ride :)

The one at Kings Dominion seems to go faster unless this was slowed down. I love the one at Kings Dominion. I went on it like 5 times

I just went on it today but I think there is just a left and a right bank. I t is hard to keep track of though
just bacically just a little up down right left stuff lol it feels really really cool when u have no clue what ur doin, pretty much u could be dropping as much as behemoth and you wouldnt even beable to tell, its sick being in a dark tunnel,. :P
