It's been a year and a half since I saw the Bernina L890 for the first time and I fell in love. With my previous overlock, which I rarely used, I always had threading problems. I also wanted a coverstitch. I decided to get financing and now I'm lucky to have a machine like this, an overlock and coverstitch in one, and I finished paying for it a month ago. Without a doubt, a very good investment. Thank you so much for your video. I would love to see more videos about the many possibilities with this machine.

The Berina credit card and 48 months same as cash it would only be $166

I just recently purchased a Bernina L 890 so I really appreciate this video showing each step.
QUESTION: Is there a link posted somewhere on the brand/product style number for the table you use? I'm thinking Christmas/birthday present wish list which my dear hubby always requests of me....... 🎄🎁
    Thanks!

The table is the Bernina Serger cabinet made by Horn. I hope you get your Christmas/Birthday present.

I really like the computer assist that the L890 has. I use it all the time so I don’t forget any steps. It’s so helpful.

its been 8 months, has the novelty of a combo machine worn off yet? even professional seamstresses who went down this path repented 6 months later.
the Bernina L890 is advertised as 100% designed and engineered in Switzerland but omits to mention its manufactured in Thailand, all plastic for 7K+. only the 8 series and up is made in Switzerland.
at least the Janome Cover Pro 3000 Professional which will do top & bottom cover stitching also all plastic but made in Taiwan a far superior manufacturing base. with a 5/25yr warranty and at 1/5th the price of a L890. I can safely say I would exceed my life span upgrading/ replacing my Janome Cover Pro 3000 before equaling the price tag on a Bernina L890.

Hi Edna, interesting comment of yours. BERNINA clearly states that the L 8 maschines are designed and engineered in Switzerland and produced in BERNINAs own factory in Thailand: ua-cam.com/video/uFdF0a00poQ/v-deo.html. Comparing the Janome Cover Pro 3000 cover-chainstitch machine to the L 890 overlock-coverstitch/combo machine does in my eyes not make sense, not from the features aspect nor from the pricing point of view, but let us allow that we all have different aspects we prioritise on.

I think Edna made a good point because her Janome does the same job at lower price point and has an additional feature called “ Built-in Top Cover Stitch” which not been found on any other except brother, although it is an accessory attachment. I have a Husky s25 w/o free-arm for the past 10 years and does the same as this new Bernina without the fanciness, at much lower cost. Let’s not forget that overlock machines are all should have a minimum of 5 thread capabilities as moral and ethical point, so home work could really benefit the user. But since capitalism has back-draws, the idea of “what is important” is no longer benefit the user.

Edna I've been a professional seamstress my entire life. This machine out performs any industrial or home machine I've ever used. I personally am a huge fan of the computerized set up and easy of threading and use. You are welcome to your opinion why don't you make your own video.
