      I really have enjoyed working on this table runner which is your pattern apparently and making it my own with your stack stitching. I have some pictures but I’m not sure how to post them. You’re welcome to share them with others. The one thing I would do differently is I don’t think my thread was thick enough for the stacking because it looks lighter than yours.

      @@jaynellestichler7090 thanks for replying Jaynelle. For the stacked coverstitch I use mostly 12 wt. threads and 8 wt rayon thread. WonderFil has a terrific selection, but there are other brands that are great also. You can send pics directly to my email: gail@gailpatrice.com. And thanks again for allowing me to post them. This is hard for me because I am a beginner moving into may be a lower intermediate category. But I have tried it and I do see how it is some thing you have to work at, but it is well worth the finished product. Just as a suggestion, in the intro of your stitch clip, you show a black bag with multiple different threads and stitches and ribbons. I’m wondering if there is a pattern that I can buy for that.? Thank you so much for sharing your brilliant and expressive/creative insight and for sharing it with everyone! You are an amazing Artisan

      Hi Marion Rose, Here is the link for the Tablet Case pattern: www.gailpatrice.com/product-page/zipper-tablet-case-pattern. The center panel features the "stacked coverstitch" that looks like ribbon, but it's actually a serger stitch. Here's the link to my Tip clip on how to do it: ua-cam.com/video/lYjdOSge62Q/v-deo.html. Glad you are finding inspiration and please feel free to ask questions as you are learning. I'll be happy to hear from you. Thanks for watching!

    • @GailPatriceDesign
      @GailPatriceDesign  Рік тому

      I haven't ever had a problem keeping the ends together, but you could give them a twist around each other and that might help. Glad you like the technique. It's really beautiful as a dimensional stitch. Thanks for watching Serger Tip Clips!

      @@GailPatriceDesign lt must be our northwest New Mexico dry climate. I had a lot of skipped stitches in my stitch out of the second run, stitch #24, coverstitch narrow RN, with two 12 wt Spaghetti strands. I didn't think my curves were too sharp. Is there any other reason for skipped stitches? My sewing speed was 600 spm.

      @@joedoe6718 Hi Alberta, Are you using fresh ELx 705 needles? Also for lighter weight fabrics, definitely use a fusible interfacing to keep the fabric smooth. You could also try a different weight needle-either 90/14 or 80/12 (whichever is different from those you were using. Let me know if any of these suggestions are helpful. Will wait to hear from you and thanks.

    Hi Gail, How do you finish the ends of your wired ribbons?

    • @GailPatriceDesign
      @GailPatriceDesign  11 місяців тому

      Hi Lisa, I cut the ribbon ends on a 45° angle and leave them as is. The wire never slides out and the edges won't fray. But if the ribbon is polyester, you can "melt" the edge with a lighter to seal it. Hope that helps but let me know if you have more questions. Thanks for watching!

    • @lisacowan2685
      @lisacowan2685 11 місяців тому

      But if you are doing the wired ribbon out of fabric then how do you finish them off?@@GailPatriceDesign

    • @GailPatriceDesign
      @GailPatriceDesign  11 місяців тому

      Hi Lisa, You can do the same technique. If the ribbon end is cut on the bias (45° angle), it won't fray. You could also run a thin line of Fray Check along the bottom edges for extra insurance. Let me know if I'm understanding your question correctly and thanks!@@lisacowan2685
