- As Russia's invasion of Ukraine approaches its one year anniversary, Charlie D'Agata visited one the war's fiercest frontlines in the country's east. Ukrainian soldiers there told D'Agata that the fighting between sides is so close, they are holding off the Russians with automatic weapons and grenades.

At the risk of over simplifying, Russia wants the Soviet Union back together, and Ukraine wanted to join NATO, which is the opposite of what Russia wanted.
Again, this is grossly oversimplified, and possibly misinterpreted, as there's a lot more that went in to the tensions going back to the breakup of the Soviet Union but that was kinda the proverbial straw the broke the camels back.
Just for land how much they are struggling and fighting. Feel pain for innocent children men and women facing in this war.
