Thanks again for this video. I was able to do the rear brakes with no real trouble at all. since I didnt have the caliper tool you had, I tried my c clamp... too small. But I was however able to use a 12" bar clamp that worked like a charm. Now on to the front pads.My only draw back today is its only 2 degrees out side and I'll be working in an unheated garage.... Thanks again.

Would removing the brake fluid cap first a good idea? Working on and maintaining my 2010 Commander has been pretty easy and great but videos like these are tremendously helpful.

Yes, that's how I do it on my 06.

When you compress the caliber do you need to unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap

No grease on slide bolts or anti rattle clips?

I add grease when I'm going mine. Everyone does their own thing though...

What size socket to use removing the caliper

For my 06, the torque for the bolts is 32 ft lbs.

You forgot to grease the hardware and slide bolts..

Why didn’t you turn or replace the rotors? The old brake pad material is embedded in the old ones and you gotta start fresh. Also, those clips are just for anti-rattle. Plus you should burnish brakes after install

Because the video is called “how to change brake pads” not “how to change pads and rotors” 🤣

@@DNRAuto you have to machine the rotors if you're just replacing the pads and not replacing rotors. Just one of the few misguiding points found in this video.
