I know Mariusz is often praised for his bass playing, and it is absolutely well deserved, but it is his signing voice that captivates me. He has one of the gentlest calming voices that is so pleasant to listen to him sing.
I agree, his voice is phenomenal
100% agree! His bass is only my second favorite of his instruments.

This is the song that I put in every moment in my life where I just feel extremely happy. I've listen it when I go on a bus to a concert, or when I'm flying upon the beauty the pacific, or when i'm in a beautiful beach, or in a river. Or when i just feel good with myself and I feel just happy just for existing. It's my moment of piece, and i'm greatful with Riverside for have created such a wonderful piece.
This song is my definition of cheerfulness and self realization. Lyrics are way too beautiful
Riverside literally save my life! I was feeling pointless and sad at that moment! And now, since i know that band (and especially Mariusz) i drink every little moment in life!! I'm from Canada I saw them in concert recently, and he said; tonight is a really special evening at the same time that his gaze crossed mine (probably a pure coincidence) but it is these little coincidences that make the world beat! I am a new grandfather now and yes... IT'S A LOVELY LIFE!!! 🥲
I shed tears for a man I only ever met through his music.

Came here after hearing the sad news about Piotr to listen to this song, particularly 2:12 for the beautiful solo. RIP Piotr, your legacy will forever live on in prog

I just woke up to the terrible news. I still am in disbelief and can't process this properly. RIP Piotr G. You were one of my favourite guitarists of your generation in one of my favourite bands. Every time new Riverside material was announced I was most excited to hear your sumptuous tones, dynamic musicianship and emotional lead playing, and was looking forward to many more years of great music with your involvement. Wherever you are, you will be sorely missed., but you will live on through your music. RIP.
I grew up listening to Riverside, my parents played it all the time at home. When we found out we were all in shock especially since my parents had just seen them perform in Chicago a few months before. I will always miss Piotr but I'll always continue to listen to their songs. This is my favorite band and I'll never forget him.

Alan Simons Yeah, I remember them playing live. This was their last song after they encored with "The Curtain Falls". They're really quite majestic live.

And now this video has become even more poignant with the loss of Piotr. The music lives on and I hope that Riverside have the heart to carry on. Condolences to his family, friends and brothers in the band. RIP Piotr.

This is one of my favorite albums of recent times. I deeply connect with this album both musically and conceptually, which is very rare for me right now. There's feelings of innocence, darkness, ambition and in this case, beauty. It's strongly felt throughout the album, and it gives me such a beautiful feeling :)
. The sound of this song is so beautiful that you can’t almost miss it. It bleeds you inside your mind, the bleeding of sheer happiness but within sadness. It’s just mesmerizing. I love it.
Heard this song on the radio the other day, boy I'm dealing with some nasty anxieties atm,... I listened to A LOT of Anathema and Pink Floyd back in my better days, Riverside takes the best of both. thank you so much for reminding me how much music can help troubled mind

+scy1192 I'm from where they are from ;) Guess we like to promote local artists! And I heard it on the car radio, because I'm kind of homeless (haha this makes roommating a little complicated!).
+Mil Nien What radio station do you listen to? The stations in my area don't have a clue! It's all mainstream B.S. you hear all the time.
+72Z15SS they are aired every now and then on 'Antyradio' and 'Polskie Radio Trojka' - both could be found in TuneIn Radio for Europe/Poland/Warszawa(Warsaw).
Both programs have their better and worse shedule entries, but both stations tend to play more "ambitious" music. (however, Coldplay is possible on both. But no Bieber etc). Progressive rock fans catch Trójka's "Minimax" program on Sunday evenings CET. Besides music they have some very good interviews with top artists (interviews with English-speaking artists)

Great stuff, though it is somewhat reminiscent of Porcupine Tree...
Mariusz has such a distinct voice though, plus this whole album has incredible production!
Riverside has in recent years blended late Opeth, Porcupine Tree and Pink Floyd with a character uniquely their own to make some of the most beautiful, if haunting, music of the last decade; perhaps too some of the most important looking at the subject matter explored and how it relates to the state of the world, technology and culture at present.

Gotta love Duda's Bass as much as his voice (as well as the rest of Riverside's instrumentation). It's not just art; it adds so much character to each of their songs that is unique. and it's a talent very few bassists possess or express in modern music.
Agree! I came for the band, stayed for the bass parts and excellent sense of harmony. Everything gels but after Fractured (Lunatic Soul) I can't help but notice the strong Duda influence in every single Riverside track.
I guess what I'm saying is - Riverside is certainly melodically steered by Duda.
