I will use 720p and HD as I did here. I will notify all who requested it upon completion. This version, also put out by TELARC, incorporated two choirs who do the major part of the harmony. I grew up with this as it can out. I first heard this through Canadian high end high wattage speakers, high end JVC turntable and stylus with the ultimate weight setting so the stylus didn’t skip on that it be particular cannon that made most jump off the vinyl. Pioneer SX1980 Amp. It was fucking spectacular as a kid.
Exactly THIS record made me switch from my analog setup to the CD. Reason: My record player absolutely wasn't able to play this record. AND: The resolution of the recording was phenomenal and the cannon shots are with nearly no distortion. - This video doesn't catch this. The "bangs" do sound awful, compared to the original Telarc record. By the way: THNX 4 uploading this.

It's whatever I wish it to be when I close my eyes and listen to a great composition. This is the land of the free - especially our imaginations. Nobody can tell me what to imagine when I listen to a great composition. Where would we be if we let others rule our imaginations?
This great composition is played in the USA, it's accompanied by American cannons, and played by outstanding American orchestras. Why would I care at all who wrote it, and for what reason? The USA loves this music, and we're free to imagine anything we want when we listen to it. Why on earth would anyone allow others to rule their imaginations when they listen to music? Free yourself.
I have this both on CD and vinyl. I think the CD version is better with the cannons and the vinyl is better with everything else. If you've seen the vinyl version of this the cannons create the craziest pattern in the groove. If you have a needle that can't handle it it will get thrown out of the groove during that part. If they would have backed it off just a tad on the vinyl version it would be better in my opinion. The last cannon hit basically drowns all of the other sounds out on the vinyl version just for a very short bit. 30 years ago when I played the CD I had a nice Technics receiver with a pair of Radio Shack Optimus 1000 speakers that I changed the crossover in with 15 inch woofers. The cannons would make the cone on the speaker move quite a bit. One of my favorites.
No but the English department at the college needed all new windows on one side. Fact. They blew them out with double shot in the authentic cannons firing them for the recording.
I'm going to assume that you are aware that audio analyzer goes hand in hand with an equalizer, and that not every listening environment is not the same. One of the hardest places to recreate a stage is in a motor vehicle, and the tech has come a long ways since the 90's. Yes, I have to reacquire this piece for my collection. Semi-humorously I do listen to classical and various other genre's of music in my Jeep. I do miss my '81 two-door Fleetwood (Cadi). lol ;) (edit - thank you)
@xeonfuze You are not alone. The first time I heard this Telarc edition, I was warned about the cannons, nonetheless, I was shocked out of my chair when they finally did come. It was like watching an Alfred Hitchcock movie. I wish they hadn't warned me. I might not have been sitting on the edge of my chair so badly. (^_^)
I grew up going to the halfshell in Boston on July 4th and listening to the Boston Pops playing this piece as it starts the opening of the fireworks. You have to be there and hear it to truly appreciate the peace. It's amazing.
@kiwikat Hey (^_^) Those are mean headphones. We used them when I was doing radio work in Namibia. I use Bose QC2 Headphones myself. I hope you remembered to turn that sound down when the cannons came on. The sound of them hurt my jaw through headphones. Who would have thought my jaw would get smacked. LOL Take care.
Or just listen to it and memorise where it appears musically. (i.e. be a musical expert at this piece of music XD) The copy of the score idea is good too (unless if you are unable to read music then... yeahhh...)
@Shrieken213 I appreciate your comment, however vague it might be. Seeing as LossLess uses COMPRESSION (I'm sure you MUST know what THAT means) - what software would YOU recommend to combat the LOSS that happens with compression? If you want to make such a sweeping statement on a video made with audiophiles in mind, how would you like to enlighten us with a decent explanation. We do have a habit of listening to rude people like yourself, even if you don't know what you are talking about!
When you upload to UA-cam no matter what (as long as you are in 720p+) it compresses it to 192kbps mp4 (or AAC I forgot which). Also, with lossless compression you decomp thar file when you play it, like a zip file, but optimized for audio, so decomp is faster>
Where can i get this version of 1812? I have other versions with choirs and other rendition. But none of them have such robust cannon at finale. Is there a link to this file?
+hairypotter1234 If you have the other Telarc with chorus--Kunzel et al--you have the cannons. It's just the original with choruses mixed in. Even better, far as I'm concerned.
The cannon blasts in this video clip to the point they're listenable. I'll link to a version that has the dynamic range turned down, which will make the majority of the recording sound quieter so you'd have to turn up the volume if you wanted to match levels, but the cannon blasts will be at full relative volume (so maybe don't turn it up too high). ua-cam.com/video/-ogotVeBO6M/v-deo.html

Wonderful!!
@delameu Thank you for all the help and encouragement you gave me. I really appreciated your time. (^_^)
BUY THE CD! If you think this sounds impressive, you should hear it with enough headroom for the cannon to come through without clipping.
I have the telarc vinyl, with the right setup it'll annoy the neighbors 3 counties over
Remember the 5 November.......
@Starkiller1701 Well, I am glad you like it. If you have the equipment, play it on HD with 720p. Happy studying! (^_^)
18 people are hit by live cannons
Vive L'France!
@kiwikat Hey (^_^)
Those are mean headphones. We used them when I was doing radio work in Namibia. I use Bose QC2 Headphones myself. I hope you remembered to turn that sound down when the cannons came on. The sound of them hurt my jaw through headphones. Who would have thought my jaw would get smacked. LOL
Take care.
12:00 to end . my favorite
Tchaikovsky hated this piece which paradoxically has become his most popular work. I myself love it, except the orchestra's diminuendo before the end.
it would greatly help to know WHEN these cannonballs shot occur so that we can prevent the damage.
Just get a copy of the score and you're all set!
Man, youtube really compressed the dynamic range on the cannons. A pity as this is an awesome recording by Telarc.
French : I love it.
Napoleon : I NOT love it...
What the hell is with the UA-cam advertisement slipped in five seconds before the finale chord?!?!!
Bought my Denon and set about testing it with this and the David Sanborn Voyeur album. The cannons aren't quite clean after flash compression
WOW, he didn't drop the bass, he dropped the CANYONS!
12:03 - End. My favourite part.
i fucking love classical music!!! Sorry, but this had to be said.
Needs more cannon.

BOOM BOOM! Subwoofer catches fire.
Fucking glorious
Awesome...thanks for sharing. Do I get CD sound quality when I play this at the highest setting (720p)?
@Starkiller1701 Any time. It is my pleasure to advise.
Hallo Bob,
Capriccio Italien is on my Afrikitty channel. It was not on this particular CD at all. It was only on the flip side of the older LP and on an earlier CD, Please watch?v=D0bNcRma4pY I hope you enjoy it. Thank you for watching. (*_*)
Listening to this on high end speakers is next level, but be aware of angry neighbours.
