I am curious about the use of 2 Nas actually, the 1st na (with 2 circles) and the 2nd na( just after it). They do represent the same sound, I believe. Are these two genuinely different sounds or just written as per historical tradition( as Anna sir said, the 2nd na is only written, if the n is at the start of words, while the 1st na is only written for n at the middle of words)?
Nice....Great observation.....Excellent !!! The one with more stress...is ANNa.....Thanni........ other one ....Onnu.....Chinna..(Small)...Definite difference is there ..
Hello Sir and Ma'am. thank you soo much for teaching the alphabets. I am from Karnataka and learning Tamil now as I have moved to Thoothukudi, I did not get how you would write 'cha' in tamil. As in Chennai or Chandru - some say it's called sennai. Another thing is, how do we specify stressed letters, like double consonants - akka, dodda, batta. Thank you sir maam. you are very nice teachers
Hi Anupriya, In Tamil, cha takes the form as 'cha', only and only if 'ich' is preceding. Tamil is a very old language, it is before sanskrit. The actual name of the city is Sennai, and that's what is written in Tamil. There is no 'ha' in original tamil, so, you don't find the hard breath cha, pha, bha sounds in original tamil words. to accommodate borrowed words from sanskrit, grantha letters were introduced, which has 'ha'. but still people avoid use of grantha letters, and make use of actual tamil letters.
@@ninjawarrior531 thank you so much sir. one more question, why in english தமிழ் is written as tamil and not as tamir or tameer, why ழ் is written as 'la' pronunciation. thank you sir. i am still learning tamil, so sorry for basic questions sir. 😊
@@anupriyashankaranhalli766 One thing you must know while learning a language is, every language has it's own beauty and world. Complexity comes when one language tries to mingle with the other. You have brought the right word தமிழ், now in English language, there is no way you can make the sound of ழ். And hence, it's written as 'zh' to signify ழ். Can you write Arnold Schwarzenegger in Hindi ? You can, but there will be a variance as it's an English word, which is based from Latin and Latin sounds have different tonal forms compared to Hindi, which is derived from Sanskrit. Now because the sound ழ் more or less takes the form of like a faded 'l' sound, so the English experts in consultation with Tamil Literature indicated it as 'l' and you see Tamil and not Tamir or Tameer. ழ் is never ர (Ra) or ற (Rra), so saying Tamizh as Tamir or Tameer is not correct in the linguistic form. And if you write Tamizh, the non tamil speaking people will not know the sound of ழ், and so it's apt to keep the தமிழ் as Tamil in English. Another thing you must know is, in Tamil, we don't use conjunct words or cluster words. For example, the word 'Cluster' will be written in tamil as kalasatr or kalastra as a transliteration. But such words don't occur in Tamizh. Tamizh is a liner language, and when people learn it coming from a different linguistic background, it's very natural to write everything phonetically. Tamizh is different in that respect. Enjoy your tamizh course, if you are keen to learn more, you can visit the Tamil Virtual Academy UA-cam channel where Tenses, Person, Verbs and sentence building is taught. Thank you, keep learning.
@@ninjawarrior531 that ழ can be easily pronounced, being a Haryanvi speaker its easy for me to do so. But it would be very difficult for a Hindi speaker to do so 😅
There are mistakes in the order of letters. The three sets of consonants are as follows: க, ச, ட, த, ப, ற :Vallinam/வல்லினம் (strong sounds) ங, ஞ, ண, ந, ம, ன :Mellinam/மெல்லினம் (soft sounds) ய, ர, ல, வ, ழ, ள :Idayinam/இடையினம் (medium sounds)
दीपा जी एक बात बताइए,तमिल में न तो ट ,त , थ की जगह த अक्षर यूज होता है और प, फ, ब की जगह ப ये अखर उसे होता है तो ऐसे तो बहुत confusan होती है जैसी हमने लिखा थाली तो तमिल पड़ने वाला कन्फ्यूज होगा की उसे ताली पढ़े या थाली पढ़े या दाली पढ़े

Rules for pronounciation:
Unlike other language scripts, Tamil script uses single letter {க, ச, ட, த, ப} to represent more than one sound (those sounds will be having same place of articulation). So, one must know where and when to use what sound. This follows a very natural simple set of rules. So, anything written in Tamil script should follow these rules (but due to exposure in English language an average Tamil person could read with correct pronunciation. Ex: Gandhi written in Tamil script as காந்தி. It should be read as Kāndhi only; never as Kānthi or Gānthi or Gāndhi. But due to the exposure in other languages like English and the influence of news channels an average educated Tamil person (according to the context) will automatically recognise it and read it as Gāndhi.
1. Kxxx, xxKKxx, xxɡ, xங்ɡ & xxɡxx
2. Cxxx /Çxxx, xxCCxx, xxÇ, xஞ்ɟx & xxÇxx
3. ʈxxx, xxʈʈxx, xxɖ , xண்ɖx & xxɖxx
4. t̪xx, xxt̪t̪xx, xxd̪, xந்d̪x & xxd̪xx
5. pxxx, xxppxx, xxb, xம்bx & xxbxx
Examples:
1. கண், பக்கம், பகை, கங்கு, & பகல்
2. சிவப்பு, பச்சை, பசை, தஞ்சம் & வீசம்
3. டxxxx, கட்டம், கடை, பண்டம் & படம்
4. தறி, பத்து, விதை, சந்தை & புதையல்
5. பண், கப்பல், சபை, கம்பு & கபம்.
Generally, words can only start with some set of consonants {க, ச, ஞ, த, ந, ப, ம, வ, யா வரிசை} & vowels {அ to ஔ}. So, டxxxx and such are grammatically incorrect but still words from other languages are written freely.
I also start to learn tamil at present.

देवनागरी का स्वर तथा व्यंजन क्रम आगे बढ़ता हुआ चलता है।।जो ज्यादा अच्छा है।।
जैसे क के पश्चात ख।।।पहली ध्वनि में अल्पप्राण दूसरे में महाप्राण।।।तमिल में बिखरा हुआ लग रहा है ।जैसे कही कुछ भी रख दिया है।।।।शायद इसलिये संस्कृत और उसकी लिपि अधिक वैज्ञानिक और सटीक है।।।
Bahut acha sikhaya apne me ek bar me likhna Sikh Gaya Bahut aasan he mam🙏

Upto this is easy felt... thanks 🙏🙏
Very nice 🙏
सच मे part 1 बहुत मजेदार था. Part 2 भी मजा आया.. पर part 3 नहीं मिल रहा है.....

In Tamil letter/ symbol for cha and sa are same unlike Kannada/ Hindi.
Hi Anupriya,
In Tamil, cha takes the form as 'cha', only and only if 'ich' is preceding.
But it would be very difficult for a Hindi speaker to do so 😅
It's very easy to learn 🤍 I would like to learn ☺️☺️☺️ learning from Assam
Thats really great news....Go ahead ...learn
Wow nice 👌
Interesting
O medam ise dekhne k bad to Bachpan ki yad aa gai 😂😂😂
Can you make a video on that combinations?
in Ka series the first is क and the last is ङ (nga)and not ga.
Very nice 👍
There are mistakes in the order of letters.
The three sets of consonants are as follows:
க, ச, ட, த, ப, ற :Vallinam/வல்லினம் (strong sounds)
ங, ஞ, ண, ந, ம, ன :Mellinam/மெல்லினம் (soft sounds)
ய, ர, ல, வ, ழ, ள :Idayinam/இடையினம் (medium sounds)
Valinam ya ra la va zha la thanks
KA SA DA THA BA RA is Vallinam....hard part...... Ya, Ra, La, Va, Zha, la,.....Medium...idaiyinam.......
दीपा जी एक बात बताइए,तमिल में न तो ट ,त , थ की जगह த अक्षर यूज होता है और प, फ, ब की जगह ப ये अखर उसे होता है तो ऐसे तो बहुत confusan होती है जैसी हमने लिखा थाली तो तमिल पड़ने वाला कन्फ्यूज होगा की उसे ताली पढ़े या थाली पढ़े या दाली पढ़े
Very nice 💥🔥
Thank you Anna
Anna is the best teacher
