Veterinary technician here with a PSA Conan made me think of: xylitol is an artificial sweetener that's highly toxic to dogs, so if you give your dogs people food like peanut butter, be sure to check the ingredients for xylitol. Edit* just wanted to add a few more little known no-no's for pets: grapes, onions, garlic, avocados, various species of plants like most succulents, lilies and cacti, etc, poinsettias, rhododendrons, there's more, but long story short: If it's not pet food, don't give it to your pet. Cheese, peanut butter, hot dogs, fine. Cooked steak? That's a quick way to possibly give a dog pancreatitis. Canned tuna for a cat? Most domestic cats don't have a digestive system equipped to deal with saltwater fish and the sodium content can cause kidney damage. Xylitol, a sugar alcohol, occurs naturally in small amounts in plums, strawberries, cauliflower, and pumpkin. Xylitol is used as a sugar substitute. Xylitol has negligible effects on blood sugar because it is metabolized independently of insulin. -Wikipedia Here in Finland a lot of dental products, like chewing gums and toothpastes, are sweetened with xylitol because they think it's better for dental hygiene than other sweeteners.
Chewing gum is just a status flex, "oh look at me, I can afford to purchase and chew on something that isn't food and just spit it out after 5 minutes..."

I did that as a kid, my kids do that, I've seen other kids do that. The predominant reason for chewing 10 sticks of gum and spitting out after a few minutes is that, .."the flavor juice goes away." -Conan is an overgrown child

Speaking of weird gum habits... My ex said that Tom Cruise showed up late to an off-broadway show years ago, sat next to her, and during the show he was eating gum (Trident or something) without removing the wrapper.

Hey Conan. Therapist here. Long-term fan. Bill Clinton with cutout face days yee-hawing. I’ve often thought you have intense anxiety that may manifest itself with ocd like symptoms (not diagnosing ocd at all). And when you have stronger emotions (positive or negative), you are self-soothing with pressure or other tactile stimulation. It sounds like you are oscillating between sensory seeking and sensory repulsed. And the fact your daughter has sensory stuff (auditory)…. And your dad had sensory stuff… ugh. Yeah. None of this bad, but recognizing you are self-soothing may help with self-awareness and prevention for bigger anxiety episodes. Basically, you’re instinctively helping yourself. :) *kicks soapbox down a flight of stairs* Good day, sir.

I’m not gonna lie, I do the same thing that Conan does with gum lol. It loses it flavor quick
I like chewing Big Red gum but it makes me mad when the flavor doesn't last.
Hi, where can I watch the entire podcast or it's only audio?
7:44 The BBG
Some at Team Coco please show Conan the "Long Long Man" Sakeru Gum Japanese commercials. I bet he would LOVE it, it has a story, its funny and it would be a great conversational piece for a podcast.
THIS IS WHY HE DOESN'T HAVE A FRIEND!!!!!!!!!!! LOL thoroughly enjoyed it!!!
Trident: The Devil’s Gum!
Chews gum just like I do. I like the icebreaker square gum pieces. I’ll shove 6-7 in my mouth at a time…and then spit it out after 5-10 minutes. 😂
I just tried the Trident Vibes spearmint. Small square pieces too. It’s the best! Stays minty for quite awhile.
@@yoliebean I’ll have to look for that next time I go to the store!
I can’t get enough of the Ice Breakers Wintergreen myself.
The icebreaker cube gum. Exactly what I do, but with 4 cubes. It's normal!
@@evenflowsteven I hope you try it! It’s my fav of the square type, plastic contain style gum. And I’ve tried them all!
@@yoliebean finally got to the store and currently have 6 pieces in my mouth. It’s great! 👍🏼 😁
Xylitol, a sugar alcohol, occurs naturally in small amounts in plums, strawberries, cauliflower, and pumpkin. Xylitol is used as a sugar substitute. Xylitol has negligible effects on blood sugar because it is metabolized independently of insulin. -Wikipedia
Here in Finland a lot of dental products, like chewing gums and toothpastes, are sweetened with xylitol because they think it's better for dental hygiene than other sweeteners.
I've literally been listening to this podcast since the 1st episode and I am just now realizing that I never knew what Matt Gourley looks like
Chewing gum is just a status flex, "oh look at me, I can afford to purchase and chew on something that isn't food and just spit it out after 5 minutes..."
lol
Well I do it to get a fresh taste in my mouth
I can relate to this on so many levels
What would Conan do with Bubble Tape? Just do the entire container at once? (Which would be a yard of gum).
These podcast are the best thing I've ever seen/heard on UA-cam. But i am interested, where can I Iisten to it? Not talks with celebrities, but an 1-hour long podcast of just three of them?
You can't, it's just the intros and endings
Crunch crunch crunch 😂
I did that as a kid, my kids do that, I've seen other kids do that. The predominant reason for chewing 10 sticks of gum and spitting out after a few minutes is that, .."the flavor juice goes away."
-Conan is an overgrown child
If we had an apocalypse and the Late Night Talk Show Hosts had to come together as one unit to rule the world and bring order, I'd want Conan as the King.
Sona has the thickest, most gorgeous brown hair I've ever seen. You KNOW that's not a weave or anything cause her hair has looked like that from moment one!
I never really thought of chewing more than one stick of gum before. This news has opened up a flood gate for me. I'm chewing more than on stick of gum from now on.
When I got Fruit Stripe gum, I would also chew many sticks at a time, because each stick would holds its flavor for approximately five seconds.
I just ordered Sona's book on Amazon. I can't wait for it.
I chew a ton of gum to help me calm down. I have bad anxiety a lot and gum combined with meds helps me cope. Icebreakers Ice Cubes are my jam.
I miss Conan’s show in the hour format on TBS. Saw him live early on there.
Squeezing your hands together in that way sounds like stimming
The need to “accomplish” finishing the gym pack….I’m the same way with every kind of cookie or candy box 😂. I can’t go to sleep knowing there’s a partially full box in the cupboard.
Conan! I love you!! 😄🤪💯
My problem with smalling small amounts of gum is I have a compulsion to swallow it. If I put more in my mouth then it's like it sends a signal to my brain that this is gum and you shouldn't swallow it.
Sounds like Conan needs a pack of Big League Chew to cure his jaw... 🤣🤣🤣
Ok. I'll listen to the rest now...
When I was a kid I used to indulge in all 6 feet of the bubble tape at once. It was overwhelming to chew but that was the fun!
I wish my coworkers were like this, every conversation would be hilarious 🤣
Speaking of weird gum habits... My ex said that Tom Cruise showed up late to an off-broadway show years ago, sat next to her, and during the show he was eating gum (Trident or something) without removing the wrapper.
What was that segment on the CO'''B-show that featured your complete incompetence, laid bare by the savage masses?? Love ya' Conan!! Long time fan!
Xylitol is a sweetener made from birch I think. Like vanilin can be made from spruce.
"boring bets" would totally be a tv channel on late night surfing channel bits
Conan is a classic Aries… Go, go, go!
"Sticks in your mouth" lol
Matt has eaten multiple cookies, sour patch kids, and brownie brittle on Pistol Shrimps Radio! For shame, sir! (I mean it is part of the charm/humor and I wouldn’t have it any other way.)
*kicks soapbox down a flight of stairs*
Good day, sir.
