Wow.... i have that radio that i use in my garage, i aquired it about 5 yrs ago from my local Tip, there were a few old radios put into the skip & i asked if i could have them but i was barked at "No, its an electrical item & due to health & safety you cannot have it".... Once his back was turned i grabbed 1 & its this exact model, works lovely & now tuned to radio Caroline. Its a shame i couldnt grab the rest of them.
electrical item. no, it uses batteries only, didnt you point that out? this is a big problem with 'tips' they're too scared of being sued if someone is electrocuted, even if you offer to write and sign a 'disclaimer,' i've tried it, all electrical items i was told are smashed up first to stop anyone trying to do anything with them if they do get hold of them, then sent for materials recycling .... i have 2 of the original , some had preset luxembourg, some a 'bandspread' of the top end of the mw band, i have one of each i also have the 'repro' tr130, definitely not as good 😉and they made a cock up of the station names, got them backwards compared to the frequencies/wavelengths 😁similar issue with the repro tr82/97 (more a vtr103), i may have a tr230 somewhere, not sure...
I do the same thing at the tip, I have a loft full of audio and tv stuff and about 80% of it works I also got a TR130 from the tip but as it didn't have FM it's never been tested.

@@andygozzo72 the people at the tip are normally quite Neanderthal & i also pointed out that I'm an electrician but they were not interested sadly.
@@merlin5476 yep, i was told they wouldnt let stuff out even to a qualified electrician, against their rules and 'policy' ..

I have the murphy version, has a great sound....
I wished this radio had vhf fm
The earlier Bush TR82 and VTR103 models had very cramped/fiddly tuning at the top of the MW band.
