Being once part of the Philippine movie entertainment industry, Sen. Francis “Tol” Tolentino expresses his full support to a proposal that seeks to strengthen the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) and the passage of the agency’s 2024 proposed budget. Tolentino, during the plenary session Tuesday, November 14, 2023, recalled his brief participation and his relevance having been part not only of the Metro Manila Film Festival but other film festivals as well, namely the Cellphone Film Festival, The Indie Film Festival and the International Indie Film Festival. “I support this initiative, as well as the upgrade and the immediate passage of the budget proposal for the MTRCB,” Tolentino said, referring to Senate Bill No. 1940 which seeks to strengthen and expand the mandate, capabilities, and organizational structure of the MTRCB.
