I’m a liberal but why would you use a black hermione when she’s white in the books and white in the movies? That’s not what we are used to seeing. You did not get some super tall blonde dude for Potter, or some brown haired guy for Weasley. You did not have a girl casted in a man’s place. Draco has the pale skin and pale blond hair. So why was hermione given a black character? If you wanted more black ppl, Rowling could have written them to begin with. Thing is, she didn’t. Weird. And then also the dude talking about being queer etc… it doesn’t matter. It’s not relevant to the movies. It’s not relevant to the play. Who he has sex with really isn’t what we are interested in knowing about. It had nothing to do with the question. It was just weird. We just saw it last week and I clearly hadn’t done any research on the play because there was definitely a gay relationship in the play between the two boys. They don’t kiss but appear as if they are close to and Albus pretty much confesses his love for Scorpius to his father. From my understanding that was not in the original version but when they condensed it down in 2020 they added more of that in. I wish they had actually just focused on how strong friendship is (like they say in this interview) rather than turning it into a romantic thing especially since the boys are only supposed to be 12 or something like that in the play. I thought it was very distracting to the play.
