Same! Anthony himself has described it as he focuses Ians ideas. But that means that part of the ideas or full ideas will have to be changed or removed. That's not a negative thing or a comment. That's part of the process. But it seems to be a sore spot for Anthony that he doesn't want to step on (or be seen to step on) his buddys creativity.

they have evolved so much they now write their own fanfictions. they are too powerful
It's so interesting that Anthony felt he had to prove himself to the Audience. I get why he felt that way, but juxtaposed to just how happy the audience was across the board that Anthony was back and He and Ian were bringing back the perfect blend of new and old smosh... I don't think either of them realize just how much this era of Smosh is to the audience. Anthony doesn't have anything to prove to us, the audience, but he probably did have something to prove to himself. I'm glad he's getting better about that.
I totally get it. I'm a newer fan who only got into Smosh recently because of their unscripted stuff like Smosh Pit and Smosh Games. I was aware of Smosh growing up but their sketches never appealed to me. To me, the newer stuff is what Smosh is and even though I'm subscribed to the original Smosh channel, it's the one I watch the least. I'm sure there are tons of others like me that got into Smosh for this stuff and I've heard Anthony say before that he was better at the scripted stuff
I literally cried when they announced they bought smosh and are friends again. I dont think they can grasp how much that means to the audience to finally see them together reconnected
I don't know, I definitely saw reluctance from newer fans at the beginning, upset that the rest of the cast got kicked off the main channel and the fear that Anthony wouldn't adept to new Smosh and just return to the old stuff. He had to prove himself and he did.

Ian saying he's normal now because he got that review from his friends like he told us on Smosh Pit is so odd to me. He's a very complex person, I'm very intrigued by him. He just isn't someone who tries to make himself stand out, which something very different from being normal. Actually that's part of why he feels so different from other people. Idk I just think he's got a very unique vibe to him.

I've watched them for years and Ian is just so difficult to truly fully read, he's multilayered. Sometimes you can get a small glimpse of what is really going on in his mind, but it only lasts for just fraction of a second because he's so guarded. He's very intriguing to me.
i think its cool to speculate but it can get weird trying to armchair psychoanalyse unconsenting people over the internet, and maybe thats the reason ian seems more guarded, especially with cameras on. But he seems very chill and practical@@teckolsie

I’d like to say that Ian saying they “queerbaited” is a bold statement, personally i wouldn’t call it that (i’m queer btw) bc the content wasn’t teased to be actually queer or appeal to a queer audience bc of it, it was more of a couple specific jokes they made to “please” the audience they already had that constantly pushed *them* towards that narrative. Still kudos to them for admitting they used that to their advantage but i think queerbaiting is a lot more harmful and it wasn’t what Smosh was doing :) Also loved the queer-coded segment!

People thought you were secretly going at it bc society taught us at a young age that men don't get too buddy buddy with eachother, so when men do and act close, ppl assume they're gay and going at it bc "the only bond men can build is a sexual one" (TM). I think Anthony having worries about his integration back with Smosh is completely valid and I understand it fully, however, I don't think he realises how much impact them buying Smosh back has had on the entire channel and its community. I came back to watching Smosh after years of not watching them because of Anthony, but stayed for the cast members. Now I'm just fully loving this new era of Smosh that brings me both nostalgia and excitement for new things.

I encountered the channel of Anthony by accident years ago. I liked his interview. Now he's interviewing a Smosh guy. And I was like "Wasn't there another dude?"
Then I realized it was Anthony. I was not ready for this plot twist! This took me a decade earlier.
It drives me insane, how they kept all the silly assumptions, took them seriously and gave them serious answers -

Honestly, I don’t watch much of you guys’ content, I’ve watched these interviews and a lot of shorts mostly. But I am SO SO happy seeing you two together again, seeing y’all creating what makes you happy and reclaiming your baby while still allowing what it was and who was there in the meantime to continue on under your vision. I grew up watching you guys (28 now) and it’s comforting, almost inspiring seeing old old friends like you two still creating passionately and still so close together. Congratulations Anthony and Ian!

This is what a healthy male friendship should look like. This should be a standard on how we can operate in a world where changing ideologies and differences that span literal decades can still find a way to come to the table in a trusting and loving way, that helps both people heal from the past, while also building upon the foundation that will help them thrive in the future. I appreciate you guys for doing these sorta videos, even if it is awkward, its really refreshing and wholesome to see to friends come together and reconnect in this way!

Piercings often build up dead skin cells and oil/sebum and make a white gunk that’s slightly off smelling. Nothing bad like an infection lol and with that info, I’m guessing Anthony doesn’t have oily-type skin. But cleaning it by rotating actually helps!

i started watching Smosh 2019 and coming in from that angle and learning about smosh's history i have an immense amount of respect for Ian so i will admit i was a bit worried about the changes Anthonys return would for all the content that i've been loving whilst he was away. But truly i think smosh is the best it's ever been and the content and ideas they create together is so amazing❤

It is interesting watching this because of how you cover a lot of interesting topics but one thing I really want to point out is how admirable it is that you and Ian were able to talk out your differences and work together! We really need a lot more in the relm of community therapy yet everyone is so obsessed with this idea of 'self-care' that it's been taken to the point that it is just the new pc way of saying "pull yourself up by your bootstraps!"
