I had gone on a beat buddy grind a few months ago when I caught my hundo Mewtwo and then I kind of got lazy. This has inspired me to continue with some nice Pokémon I have. Thanks Daxi!
I have a more relaxed approach. I have a main buddy is my primary. When I maxed hearts for that one I switch to my second and sometimes 3rd. Next day I start over. Not as fast but more relaxing for me not to grind as hard. Having fun with the game is most important to me. Thanks to you both for the great advice!!! 👍 🖖🇺🇦🙏

Great video, it is nice to see how people do their grind on the aspects of the game that they are into. For me, I work on hundo pokemon that I will eventually max out. They don't have to be useful but I will slowly build up a dex of max/hundo/best buddies. One thing I do is make sure I level the pokemon to 40 (I think 35 is actually enough) before it joins my buddy rotation as this will maximize the XL candy you get from walking them.

Just a lil' tip I've been doing: if you have a mega pokemon you want to best buddy but the mega isn't out yet, wait till it is released then work on the buddy so you can get extra mega candy while making it your best buddy.
Impressive for sure! I personally dont like rushing best buddies. I like the feel of “hanging out” with your favorite pokemon for a while before you hit bb. Same as with real bonding experiences that normaly take some time.
I have 68 BB, slowly grinding for the rest. Probably it will take another 2-3 years but I'm not in a rush. if you live near the gym that change color often 3 battle hearts are easy to obtain- put your buddy in party (can be on last spot), battle 3 times and exit. Switch to the next buddy. Even better if this gym have AR mapping task.
i think im missing something, how did you do the walking in those 45 minutes or did you not do the walking in this particular exercise? what hearts exactly did you get for each pokemon in those 45 mins? like 0 walk heart, 3 treat hearts, 2 play together hearts, 6 battle hearts, 2 snap hearts, 0 new place hearts and 2 bonus hearts. is that what was gotten for each pokemon and that was done for 12 pokemon (and 8 doing only 3 actions) and it only took 45 minutes? i really feel like I'm missing something if that's how long it took per pokemon Edit: tried this method last night and the battling component completely stops working after the first 4 or 5 mons, how do we deal with that? How did it stay working for you?

I think I have as of today 157, I never scan or buy poffings. I have been doing the 20 buddies at least 6 hearts each everyday. I can't wait to finish this one medal, then I can flex my favorite mons for longer.
I would suggest using a bike and going about 10 km an hour for your walking instead of walking that way you can maximize the amount of distance covered even if you're just going in circles to stay in the same small area, especially if there are a lot of gyms & poker stops in the area. Skateboarding scooter roller skates those things would also be more beneficial than just walking.

Something I've been doing lately is prioritizing Pokemon that can Mega evolve so that I'm also getting Mega energy as I get candies. It's always 5 ME per km no matter how many km it takes to get 1 candy. This way, I stack up ME so I can have a bunch of megas. I also make sure I mega evolve at least 2 Pokemon per day, although I could do more, but I like to make sure I can cycle through the ones that ME for free. I probably need to set a schedule for which ones I mega on each day. I always have one buddy and I do swap when I can't get any more hearts on that one. But I'm a super low budget player so I can't afford the 20 poffins/day.
Great video. It got me thinking about friendship levels and how to max those out quickly. The limit is how many interactions per day you can do. There's a limit on sending/opening gifts but I wondered if you did trainer battles that also boost friendship if combined hit some overall interaction limit. Does anyone know?
Wait I’m not very bright what is the lvl two pokestop for now? I’m from a rural area we have two stops in a 4 mile range. So I’m just trying to stay interested in the game because it gives me a “reward” to keep walking for my health.
Nice job! Personally, I work on 4 per day and get them all double hearted WITHOUT using poffins. I do have an ar scan task awarding a poffin which I’ve had for around 2 years from the area I lived in for years. It’s nostalgic for me to keep it. If I ever do get a poffin from a raid (rare) I actually only use it if it’s ever needed for a new special or timed research task to get 5 hearts instantly.
I usually get my main buddy excited without a poffin and max out hearts, need to start working on background buddies, 1 feed, 3 battle, 1 snapshot and 1 play on all the background ones will still add up
What I did was the following: I best buddied 21 Pokémon at the same time and got the "Play together" and the "Take a snapshot" hearts with each every day. On days were I had a little more time, I fed each one and got the 3 battle hearts for a total of 6. It took me just over 4 months to best buddy all 21 of them instead of the 150 days if I had only gotten 2 hearts with each every day. I did this strategy because it was the least berry intensive and the least time spent on each Pokémon every day. My goal is to have all my hundos, costume shiny, some PvP Pokémon (like XL Diggersby for the Great League), and sentimental Pokémon best buddied. Phew.
I got into best buddying last year. It’s quite nice to pick some special pokes. I have 2-4 on the go at any one time, and just about to get my 50th best. That’s as much as I have time for, it’s pretty tedious and time consuming doing 4 a day, so that’s my limit. I enjoy the results though, just wish the Best Buddy had a bit more purpose and reward for achieving it. Perma CP boost would be good, at least.
I only want a Greninja best buddy and a zoroark best buddy. sheesh if only I could go to alleyways or something and actually find zorua and froakies near my neighborhood pond, where I see so many frogs irl....

I tried doing the 20 buddy swaps,25 pvp battles and 100 trades every day grind….it gets old really fast

I'm not understanding the purpose of the powered up pokestop. Is that for visiting a new stop heart? EDIT: There is a bonus heart for lvl 2 pokestops.
No, that's for the bonus. If it's a new stop, then yes, that will be an addition you can use

I do something similar switching bt 7 buddies every day and averaging 6-7 a month. I could prob do more if I walked with them, lol. It's def a grind.
