So in essens, a team mate provides a str +1 mod to his blocking team mate if he is standing adjesent to the opponent being blockted as long as he's not in another opponents tackelzone. And the opponent being blocked gets a 1+ str for everyone of his team mates that are adjesent to player doing the block aslong as they are not in an tackle zone of the blocking team.
Hi Mike. In your example where there is a gap between both an orc and a human you say an assist is possible. Whilst there is a gap, surely the model is still in the tackle zone as there are 8 adjacent squares surrounding the figures. How does this mean that the assist is possible? When do tackle zones cancel each other out also?
hi, not sure I understand the questions, but tackle zones don't really cancel each other out, each one adds strength to the player they are assisting, if it's a valid assist.
@@MikeDavies_sann0638 hi Mike. Sorry I will try to reword this. When a player is going to assist his fellow model, he must have tackle zones of his own and not be in the other teams tackle zone. However surely the assisting model will be in the 8 squares which make up the other teams tackle zone. Why is this considered to be an assist if the model is in an enemy tackle zone?
Hello so in the scenario at time stamp 5.01 I am struggling to understand why the human cancels out all the tackle zones of the orcs. Surely he would count as cancelling one there for giving the 2 extra assists. Please help
But if one of the three in that column of orcs was to block the one human to the left it would be 2 dice right? Why is that- by that logic wouldn't the capability to assist be cancelled by the human to each of the orcs' right?
This is something I have struggled to find an answer to. The rules state "If one player has more strength, you roll 2 dice and the stronger player chooses the result"... does the +1 strength from assisting add to this or is it only the base strength of the two units? (so a black orc being hit by a lineman with 2 assists would chose the dice used to pick the outcome) ps Thanks for these videos, they are a big help.
the part @2:30 about the single piece cancelling both assists is very crucial... it's what I find harder to track in big pile-ups
just looking forward to defensive messing with the whole lot!
I was winning online without knowing this properly (the block preview was what I relied on) now I have perfect confidence in my blocking assist.
Found this very helpful, thank you.
This is super helpful! is this still valid in the most recent version of the rules?
yep! Thanks!

I think I see. Yes, the assisting player is only allowed to be in the tackle zone of the player that is being blocked, not in anyone else's.

The rules are pretty straightforward here: since every one of these orcs is in the left human's tackle zone, none of them can provide an assist.

I''m also new to Blood Bowl, but I think it's the strength adjusted for assists that's relevant.
The assist adds to it.
