    Hi just one remark for people who want to hit the road, effectively keeping your Spot emergency locator on your bike is wrong. Simply because if you fall and you cannot go back to your bike, which would be probably away from you in most cases, your Spot would be useless.
    It is better to have it on you, so it is reachable at any time. Simple advice. Take care and ride safely ;)

    Thanks for sharing, good information and tips. Is your GPS a Garmin Nuvi? How did it work for you (was a paper map needed too)?

      @@jackswisher3171 I use a Garmin Zumo XT that worked perfectly. I always carry paper maps also.

    How do you break the tires bead on the side of the road?

    • @BlackdogADV
      @BlackdogADV  Рік тому +1

      Motion Pro bead breaker tool. Works great and I highly recommend.

    Heading to PB this July/Aug and your assessment of items is very helpful. I know myself and others strive to figure out what we need vs what we will use. How you pack is also a bonus I appreciate. How many and what size sd cards did u use as I was planning on taking a hard drive. Thanks, Randy from Idaho

      I use 128 SDs and generally take 2 or 3. I try to only have the camera on for active/interesting. The last 3 Arctic trips I just used a GoPro 8 but I’m thinking of adding an Insta 360 to the mix.

    What do you use for a camera, microphone and software for editing?

    • @BlackdogADV
      @BlackdogADV  3 роки тому

      GoPro 8, Panasonic G85, Rode mic and iMovie. Although lately I’ve been using the GoPro more than anything else.

    Well-done. People need to be more aware of what they bring. I've read quite a bit concerning the Appalachian Trail. They say that many find out during the first 5 miles they brought too much. They end up slinging the overweight stuff into the trees & over the hill. Items such as cast iron skillets, 2 burner Coleman stoves and gallons of water can be found.

      How to you stop all the shite off the road from lining the inside of the tyres?

    • @seanhewitt2521
      @seanhewitt2521 10 місяців тому

      Just put on new tires at the start of the trip. If there are more miles to be had out of the old ones put them back on when you get home.
