I’m still gonna read Priory of the Orange Tree (slowly because I can’t get the audiobook at my library) even tho you didn’t enjoy it. Hopefully I do 🤞🏽🤞🏽 Gothikana sounds especially awful 😬 but also I don’t think I’d enjoy a dark romance even if it was written well
Fingers crossed you enjoy Priory! I know a lot of people do love it, so hopefully you have a positive experience with it I think I probably could enjoy a dark romance if it was written well (I'm willing to put up with a lot) but Gothikana definitely was not it 😂
This was such a bad reading year for me :/ my two worst books were Bajar es lo peor by Mariana Enriquez, which sucks because she's one of my all time favourite writers, and House of Hunger by Alexis Henderson. I had such high expectations for that one and it just felt all over the place, like 2 separate books smashed together. You described the AFTG series perfectly, it's an absolute shitshow, but it's so much fun to read anyway
Ugh, that sucks. I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad reading year. Always especially disappointing when a book you're particularly interested in doesn't pan out. I'm not familiar with Bajar es lo peor, but I've been hearing a lot of mixed things about House of Hunger; I get the sense you're not the only person who was really disappointed in that one. Fingers crossed you have a better reading year in 2025!! 🤞
