Yinz perfectly encapsulated my sick feelings about Penn State playing Minnesota. We (husband & I) were at that 1999 game, my first semester at University Park as a sophomore. I will never forget the feeling of walking home from that game. And the 2019 game? Scars, forever. Prolonged by the subsequent hiring of Ciarrocca as the disaster of an assistant. Minnesota played “1999” in the stadium after the 2019 game. Epic trolling. They knew what they did.
I know that Kevin isn't a Philly fan, but as a Philly fan I feel we are kindred spirits because we have the same sort of impenetrable sports pessimism that can only be forged by years and years of disappointment and suffering
For those old enough to realize life sometimes kicks us in the nuts at the most unexpected time, this saying will ring a bell - *It's the hope that kills* I am with Kevin and Chris. Hoping for a win but scarred by the past and a Franklin masterclass. That being said, i am ready to be disappointed again but till then, i think it will be 28-17.
IDK what kevin is talking about. we weren't in a position to "salt the game" away in 2019 (not to mention we ran the ball very well), and shelton didn't even play the minny game because it was the week before that he spit at a player. Plus the weird beef with on3. Happy to listen to the other guys.
Hey guys, should the BIG and or the NCAA, really look into just playing all 12 games in the conference? The SEC, ACC, Big 12, etc playing all of their games in their respected conferences, also. No one could then piss and moan about about this team playing Youngstown State or that team is playing Mercer.... 31-13 this weekend.
Hey Mark. Thanks for watching/commenting. I really hope your score prediction is close to the mark (no pun intended)! I've seen that idea tossed around, and I think there's a non-zero, but also not high, chance of it happening one day, far down the line. We're definitely seeing the issues with 16/18-team leagues play out this year. The structure and finances of the sport are so fluid, but for the present, a major obstacle is the need for seven homes every year to bring in enough revenue. The Akrons of the world make that possible by not demanding a reciprocal home game in return for a nice payday. There's also some value in those kinds of games if you're not going to play any kind of a preseason. Two fixes I'd love to see sooner than later: The SEC going to nine conference games (don't hold your breath) and progress on the rumored scheduling agreement between the B1G and SEC. I do think the number of conference games will increase in the future, but I'm not anxious for it. I'd rather see more variety added to the usual slate of familiar opponents.
@@ChrisBuchignaniThe variety is what makes college football great. If I'm honest, as a season ticket holder for pretty much my whole life, I enjoy the cupcake games just as much as the premier matchups! Being able to enjoy a day of tailgating without having to worry about a loss is great!
Instead of more conference games during the regular season, it's more likely they add conference semifinal games, to ensure the top teams in each conference all play each other.....always assume the solution that generates more money.
@@Unclejunior152 Agreed. And in addition to the "preseason" developmental aspect of those nonconf games, I like that they give families that opportunity to get to a game. Tickets are way more affordable and easier to get, and you need to keep providing the next generation the chance to experience and fall in love with Penn State football in Beaver Stadium. Balance is good!
@@davidnakonecznyj2983 I think that's right David (you're definitely correct about defaulting to the "more money" solution). I haven't really thought through the logistics of it, but there's probably a better way to monetize the "first round" of the playoffs than conference championship games involving tiebreakers so confusing the conference front offices can barely understand them that also stand to punish the losers for being good enough to qualify.
If we can’t win out we deserve to be kicked out. Stop the pessimism! Even Kent state has more optimism. Take a deep breath and believe…for once… that the sun does shine in Centre county
We don't have a very good QB. We have a good QB, but not elite. How about target your other receivers and not lock into one guy. A good QB can throw the ball to spots allow their receivers to make plays. Drew needs to anticipate when the receivers breaks on routes.
I look forward to this every week. You guys do a great job.

We visibly shuddered reading this lol. Here's to you and the other half not reliving those feelings by 7 pm Saturday.
@ Our nerves are fried. That was unnecessarily stressful.

27-3 good guys
24-16 Penn State. I just don't think Minnesota can score enough without a defensive or special teams TD
I have seen Jamar Chase drop wide open passes.
PSU 28
Minnesota 14
Destroy the Golden Gophers (like the 2022 Penn State Whiteout Game)!
34-20 🦁 s
PSU rolls the ground hogs, 31-6
If Allar comes back he will be a first round draft choice and his parents will have a new house.

If Illinois is going to be the only competent team you beat, do you plan on losing to Minnesota? We beat Illinois.

😂 stop eating the deer jerky its affecting ur brain cells
Saying we’d be 7-5 is lazy, stupid and wrong.
