@@cristianiftode6307 Hi Cristian, I hope you are keeping well 👍. I'm not sure why they don't make a hobo knife. They have started to make a knife called "The cheese master", so fingers crossed they may start to make a hobo type knife. They already make forks and spoons etc. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. All the best, Mark :)
I've carryed mine for 15 years. I live in northern Canada and am hunting, fishing, and exporing the back country pretty much daily. Often the only equipment I have on me is that Farmer... I've even field dressed a few deer with it. Mine was almost confiscated at a hockey game in Edmonton recently, so I switched to a "Hiker", easyer to replace, the spare blade and philips are handy.
Another GREAT video Mark. This is how knife reviews SHOULD be done. You know, that's the first time I've seen anyone use the wire stripper on a Victorinox that way. Makes perfect sense. Thanks so much for sharing, Jerry.
Good morning Jerry, I hope you are keeping well my friend :) Many thanks for the kind words. Yeah I have seen the wire stripper used in various ways, but this seemed more logical. To be honest, if I needed to strip thinner wires down I tend to use my teeth lol. My Dad was an electrician, so I must of picked his bad habits up. Have a great day and week ahead, all the best, Mark :)
Hi Kuecken, thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I'm sure you will love it. Great knife for the money. Have a great day, all the best, Mark.
Good morning Imran, I hope you have been keeping well my friend :) Many thanks for stopping by and catching up :) There should be a new video up today. I am just finishing the last pieces to it. Have a great day, all the best, Mark :)
Hi Chris, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Yeah for the money the are a great little knife. Well made and a good price. At the moment I don't sell any leather work, it is something that I may do once I am happy with the end result. Thanks again for watching, all the best, Mark.
Totally agree with your review and your demonstration of the tools, I always carry a Victorinox often the Huntsman model. Great tools. Thanks again for sharing. All the best from Scotland. Garry
Hi Garry, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment mate :) The huntsman is a great knife. One of the lads I work with uses one. His has the wooden scales which looks very nice. I have a couple that I use, but the farmer seems to suit my needs. I was recently told about a website where you can design your own knife. You can chose the type of blade and tools etc and they then make it up to your spec. I might look into it when I get some free time. Thanks again Garry, have a great week mate, all the best, Mark :)
@@markbailey2981 Hi Mark I like the idea of designing your own configuration, I wish Victorinox would make a Alox version of the Huntsman. You too mate! Cheers. Garry
This video was a breath of fresh air. I have friends who either underappreciate or downright hate Swiss Army knives, and they just can't understand why I like the Spartan, Camper, or Farmer Swiss Army knives as a multi-tool pocket knife. They all buy Cold Steel knives, btw. Not that there's anything wrong with owning Cold Steel knives, because I own a Laredo Bowie which is great for chopping and splitting wood, among other camp duties. And I own a Large Espada knife, which is just a showy fighting knife. In all probability I will never need to use it for anything. I only ever used it to sharpen a nephew's drawing pencil when he asked me to. lol
Hi Bruce, I hope you are keeping well. Many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 👍. I have owned Swiss army knives for years and have always found them to be a useful companion knife, or a knife that I carry and use at work. I tend to stick with the farmer or camper as they have the selection of tools that suit my needs. I also like to carry a larger belt knife, but for smaller jobs, I often pull out the Swiss army knife. Thanks for taking the time.... stay safe during these, all the best, Mark 😀🌲🔥.
I've carried one everyday for years. Great little knife. I put a 90° spine on the inside edge of the flat screwdriver for ferro rod. I also carry the small Victorinox "Rambler" for the tweezers, scissors, file, toothpick. Fits in jeans coin pocket. Great video. Thanks.
Hi MutsPub... many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment my friend. Good call about putting a 90 degree edge on the screwdriver. I might look into doing something similar. It is a shame that they couldn't store a pair of tweezers on the Farmer. I have found that they have come in handy in the past for removing splinters and thorns etc. Thanks again... all the best, Mark.
Mark Bailey - Hey. that's a trick I learned years ago on the "Boy Scout" pocket knife. I still own several. Carried one everyday since I was 8 or 9?. Several years ago, I tried the "Pioneer", then the "Farmer", because of the saw. It's the perfect sized pocket tool (IMO), not my main pocket blade. Yes, I get teased because of what all I carry in my pockets, until the tool is "needed" - ha. On this farmer, I also used a Dremel and carefully ground/removed the lanyard "ring". I found it made it more comfortable in my hand. The ring would stab me in the palm while using it. I also tried the One Hand Trekker NS, because I wanted the saw. Great knife, but it was just to bulky for me. Thanks again.
One of my favorite knives. The saw on the Farmer can be used to strike a ferro rod while it's closed. There's just enough of the spine of the saw exposed for it to work.
Hi Tony, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment :) I agree, the Farmer is a great knife. It is my favorite model that Victorinox make. I will have to try it out on a ferro rod. I think on mine, there is a small portion of the tip that is exposed when the blades are closed. Thanks again, all the best, Mark :)
Thanks for watching Erik :) I agree, for the size, the saw has been a very handy tool. Out of the Victorinox range the Farmer suits my needs best. Have a great day, all the best, Mark :)
Hi Minimalist Geezer, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Yeah I love mine as well. They are great knife and has a set of tools that I find useful. Have a great day, all the best, Mark. :)
Hi! I enjoyed your video and how you put things in a simple way. I also own a SAK Farmer and find it very useful to carry with me being a UK legal EDC. I find the fact that both blades open the same way, as it is very practical to use a small peace of cordage as a lanyard to increase the grip when using the cutting blade. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Vitor, yeah that's a great idea. The slimmer profile can be a pain when using the saw or blade of any considerable time. I've got a lanyard on the knife already, I have just got to beef it up a little to get it to fill the hand more. Thanks for the tip, all the best, Mark.
I love Alox swiss army knives they just feel higher quality and that thicker blade is fantastic, i'm a bit stuck between 2 models at the moment, i like the farmer but i also like the pioneer harvester/swiss army seven. the seven has a hawkbill blade in addition to the regular one and im not sure how often i would use the can opener these days as most stuff has ring pulls. the other thing is that the harvester for some reason doesnt have a keyring so i couldnt have a lanyard or hang it off a carabiner. reckon the farmer might win this one. cheers for sharing all the best from Bristol
Hi Mountain Bear Outdoors, I hope you are keeping well 👍. Many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I agree the pioneer harvester looks a great knife. Like you say it also has the extra pruning blade. Something that I would use more than the can opener. Going back a few years I did see a website where you can design your own knife, and choose the tools and blades which you want. I'm not sure if it is still exists, but this would be a useful thing that Victorinox should do. Take care my friend, all the best, Mark :)
@@markbailey2981 im good mate, luckily i have a garden an allotment and woodland nearby so I count myself very fortunate at the moment. i don't think victorinox offer any customisation other than scale colour and a screen printed text of your choice, if they offer the swiss champ in alox i think that would be excellent but not sure how the thicker blade would interfere with the other tools.
Thanks for showing real use of a SAK! My first language is not English but I always find amazing how the brain works. At the beginning of the video I didn’t understand your accent and after 30 seconds I just starting to understand mostly everything. Great explanations, BTW.
Hi Angel, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. The area of England where I am from is known to have a difficult accent to understand, so you did well lol. I'm glad you understood the video. Have a great week, all the best, Mark :)
Hi Mark, hope you're doing well, my friend. Good review on this awesome bit of kit. The Farmer is a pretty good choice for a 'Bushcraft' swiss army knife. If I was to compare it with a standard cellidor version of a SAK, the Victorinox Hiker is a good alternative, a bit cheaper as well. Take care. Tip 1: Make your Farmer much more ergonomic, by removing the split ring, and filing down the little tab at the end with a metal file. Put some electrical tape on the end of the knife's body, around the tab, to stop if from scratching. Tip 2: The wire stripper is much more efficient when used in conjunction with the main blade of the knife, to score the wire.
Hi Ed, I hope you are keeping well brother. Thanks for the tips my friend. Someone else mentioned about filing down the split ring tab as well. I only have a small hand and the tip does sometimes rub on the inside of the hand. I might give that a go. Yeah, good call about using the blade to score the coating of the wire. I have seen it done like that. My dad and older brother were sparkies (electricians), and I think I may have picked up their bad habit of just pulling the coating off lol. Cheers Ed, Take care my friend, all the best, Mark.
@@markbailey2981 Totally agree about removing the key-ring. On this weight of knife, who would really wear it on their keys?!? What were Victorinox thinking? You do not see it on the issued Alox Soldier (which, as the Alox Pioneer, was issued to the civilian market with just the addition of the key-ring). You do not see it on the Alox Solo or the Alox Army 7. The problem with it is that it creates a real hot-stop on the palm of you hand. The good news is that it is easy to remove. A small hack-saw and a dremel will do the job in five minutes. Once done, you have one hell of a great outdoorsman tool.
Hi Josh, I hope you are keeping well my friend. Yeah they are a great pocket knife for the money. If you are looking for something a little cheaper in cost then the Pioneer is virtually the same minus the saw. I think they sell for around $25 instead of $35 for the farmer. They are both on offer at the moment on Amazon. Plus Christmas isn't too far off, put one on the list lol. Thanks again Josh, all the best, Mark.
GREAT INFORMATIVE VIDEO...I must admit, I do like this Farmer knife. I like the slightly more beefed up tools and the reamer as part of the main tool set and not on the back of the knife as an secondary tool. I have the Huntsman which I have had for about the last 25 years! And love it but could probably cope with this slightly smaller tool set on the farmer. The only thing that is missing on the Farmer is the scissors. They do bome in handy in my opinion. AND FINALLY someone who actually knows how to use the wire stripper on the Swiss Army Knife! Bravo! I've seen some pretty peculiar UA-cam videos on how to use the wire stripper. This is the correct way.
Hi Kieron, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. For the money, I think this is one of the best knives Victorinox make. Very robust, and for me a decent selection of tools. Everyone has their own preferences of course. I'm glad it didn't come with the corkscrew. I'm glad you think I'm using the wire stripper in the right way. I've seen various ways of doing as well. Some where people use the blade to cut through the coating. In all honesty I usually use my teeth. So using it in a similar way seems logical. I don't fancy running metal wire over the edge of the blade. Thanks again Kieron, all the best, Mark. :)
Hey friend! Another great video👍🏻 I have been eyeing one of these for a while. Especially for that awl. It seemed to make short work of that hole. Also I have been looking at the trekker. About the pocket... I have seen a pretty popular guy on here Joe Robinet put a key ring on his belt loop and tie bank line from the ring to that little lanyard on the knife. Not sure it would help you get it out of the pocket but it’s so you can’t drop it and lose it. I imagine you could do the same with it in its sheath. Great informative video again🙂 I think I may pick one up now👍🏻 Those are some beautiful woods you have in England
Hi Spider5001, Many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment my friend. I may take you up on the advice of fastening the knife to the key ring. I have a tendency to loose smaller knives like this. I think I must of lost about 10 or so over the years, or I have given them away. I am very happy with the farmer. It has a good selection of useful tool (well for me they are useful), and the price is very good too. Yeah we do have some nice areas here in England. Just like any country really, Good and bad. The woodlands here aren't anything like they use to be unfortunately. According to old records, they recon that you could climb a tree in the South of the country and clamber your way all the way to Scotland without having to touch the ground. Most were cut down for the wooden war ships, farming and fuel. Now we have small pockets surrounded by motorways and factories!! Thanks again Spider, have a great day, all the best, Mark.
I saw a Swiss army knife and I had to get one, I got the Field master, it's really useful but I don't have much time to use it because I spend most of my time working at school
Hi Sneaky Sheikh, I hope you are keeping well 👍. The Fieldmaster is a great knife. I used one for years at work. There are loads of useful tools on it. The beauty of it is, even though you don't have the time to use it at the moment, it is always there for when you need it. My main problem is loosing them lol. Thanks for taking the time. All the best, Mark 😀🌲🔥.
Great video i have an farmer as well for me 3 tools wide is about the limit of comfortable pocket carry. It would be great if you could get one with an file.
Yeah I love the farmer. All the tools are worth carrying, well maybe not the wire stripper. I would swap that for a file :) Thanks as always Howard, take care mate, Mark. :)
The way I like to use the back of the saw blade as a ferro rod striker is to open the saw, put a little piece of wood under it, then close it again. You can then strike your ferro rod without worrying about the saw closing up on your hand.
Hi Drengskap, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. That is a great idea. I will try that next time I am out :) I hope you are having a great weekend my friend, all the best, Mark :)
Thanks for the review and the best is that you put in practice several tools of the knife. I was wondering what is better between Huntsman and alox farmer X?
Hi Swords, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 👍. I don't think the Farmer x was in production when I bought mine, but I noticed that they added the scissors. I like the alox versions as they are slightly thicker in the blades and tools. I used to have the Hunstman a few years ago until I lost it. It is a great knife but some of the tools I didn't really use very much. Thanks again for stopping by.... I hope you have a great Christmas, all the best, Mark 🎅🏻👍👍.
Huntsman is a great Swiss army knife but my favorite over the huntsman is the victorinox fieldmaster it's the very same Swiss army knife but it's got a driver on the back where the huntsman has the corkescw for me a driver is much better so I go with the victorinox fieldmaster but for many people the corkescw is still useful like undoing knots but I've picked up the new victorinox farmer x and I've got to say it's a outstanding Swiss army knife in my opinion the victorinox farmer x is a lot stronger than the red Swiss army knives most of the items on it is bigger and stronger but on day to day use I still use my victorinox fieldmaster with the plus scales on it great little bit of kit thanks guys
Hi Marc, many thanks for watching :) I am not familiar with the boker range, but 12c27 is a nice stainless to work with. I find that it can be sharpened easier than most other stainless blades. I tend to find that some Victorinox can be more tricky to re-sharpen once the edge has gone as the steel is hard. The edge does last for a long time, but if I was choosing I would look at 12c27. I hope this helps. Have a great weekend, all the best. Mark :)
Great stuff Leighton. I`m sure you will find it very handy. I know there are hundreds of models out there with a vast configuration of tools, but in my mind the Farmer seems to have the best selection out of the range, for the number the knife has. Well it certainly does for me and my needs. Thanks again Leighton, I'm glad I could help. All the best, Mark.
I use the back of a saw on a 10ish year old SAK Camper with a ferro rod, so the tools are a little looser and it's never folded on me. Maybe it'll be a hazard in 20 years time? It's a Camper, got a new one for £14 recently. No need to be using worn out ones. I really like my Farmer, especially the beefed up blade and forward facing awl though the Campers tweezers, pen blade and thinner awl are a great little first aid kit in a country with lots of brambles and general thorns, some more manky than others.
If you find a Classic cheap (they're around a tenner) and use that in conjunction with the Farmer you get the bonus of scissors too, that way you can use the Classic for ''clean'' jobs like grooming, first aid, indoor jobs, and the Farmer for dirty outdoor jobs. Combined weight of the 2 is 108g as opposed to the Hiker's 68g but spacewise I think the 2 are more compact.
@@simonh6371 I solved the issue. Got a Gerber Dime, it has tweezers, a pen sized blade, scissors, pliers and others. In conjunction with the Farmer it's a good tool set.
@@jelkel25 Yeah that's a pretty good solution, covers all tools and you have 2 blades. Actually I was looking at a multitool as well, to have up to 3 tools as EDC i.e. Classic + Farmer + Multitool with pliers...I wouldn't always carry all 3 though, just classic if going to the shop or cafe walking, add multitool if going somewhere by bike, add farmer if going to work or out of town on bike and so on. Looking at Dime & Vise but I've seen a mix of good and bad reviews about it. I don't want to splash out on a Leatherman either. So at the moment I'm torn between Boker mini (but there are absolutely no reviews on this of any kind, not even in German) and the SOG multiclip which like every multitool has its positives and negatives.
@@simonh6371 As regards a Boker Mini there's reviews on Heinnie Haynes in the UK. I have a full sized Boker Tech Tool 4. They're well made and have a great Sandvik blade. Mine is heavy for how useful it is, I have lighter better options. Never used a mini.
@@jelkel25 Cheers, I'll have a look there. All the other Bokers are well made as far as I can see and pretty priced if you look at SAK equivalents. The Boker mini costs about the same as a Gerber Dime.

Nice review Mark. I've had mine for 9 years and feel naked if it's not in my pocket. Misplaced it once in the house so had to buy another which the missus has now. I've abused the saw on plastic trunking at work so it could do with sharpening but it still cuts well, just takes a bit longer.
Hi noriz4me, many thanks for watching the video and taking the time to comment. Hopefully I will have mine for 9 years too. I have misplaced a few over the years, I think I must of lost half a dozen or so. I find this one is becoming one of the most useful out of the range that I have owned. Good selection of tools, and a decent price!! Thanks again, have a great weekend, Mark.
I've carried mine for 2 years now and it's a great little tool. I bought a few as presents too having farmers in the family. Not sure if they still have them though they are a bunch of Neanderthal people lol. Great vid mark nice to see you out enjoying the woods. All the best Dave
Morning Dave, I hope you are keeping well mate!! Many thanks for watching the video. Yeah I have a few Neanderthal relations as well. You gotta love em lol. Have a great week mate, all the best, Mark.
Hi Mark! I have really enjoyed your video thank you for taking time making it. Do you know this Farmer comes with the same saw like the traditional red 91 mm swiss army knives? I really love my Pioneer X, Cadet and Solo alox knives. The thing I appreciate the most that the alox scales are really wear ressistants. Much tougher than the red plastic scales. Also the bit tougher blades and springs are really good in everyday use.
Hi Lev, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 👍. I have just measured the knife and saw and the knife when closed is 92 mm, and the saw is about 73 mm. I'm not 100% sure if it is the same saw as the red knives, but it looks the same as the ones I have seen. I measured them so you can compare if you already have one with a saw. I agree the alox scales are a nice addition. They are a lot more rugged and wear resistant. I have lost scales off the red swiss army knives in the past, but these look like they will last. Thanks for taking the time. take care, all the best, Mark 😀.
@@markbailey2981 I have got a Victorinox Huntsman and I have measured the saw. It is 73 mm long like on yours so I believe this must be the same saw like on alox models. I was curios you know because I was thinking probably they strenghtened up a bit like on the blade they did. Thank you for sharing this with me. Keep safe.
Thanks for watching Sel. Yeah its a nice little pocket knife. I would say you will be able to do more with your multi tool, so if it works why get rid. I don't tend to get rid of my old gear either. I end up either loosing it or lend it out and then end up having to replace it. Thanks again Sel, all the best, Mark. :)
Been considering getting other victorinox tool .. only have the recruit and spartan's right now I actually used the can opener earlier to open a can of soup( earlier today ish ) I always remind people that its sharpen when i hand it to them to use. I guess really comes to what tools one wants. TFS Mark .. :D C.R.
Hi C.R. I hope you are keeping well brother. Yeah, your quite right, different people want different tools for different activities or uses. I have always wanted one with a saw and the farmer fit the bill for me. I'm very happy with it. I just hope I don't loose it like I have done with the other 10 that I have had over the years lol. Thanks for watch C.R., have a great day, all the best, Mark.
I tend to use the arbor knot / or clips so i can have option for carrying while in use. ( i dont use sheaths/pouch per say with the one's i have right now.
Hi Gary, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment my friend. The Champ is an awesome knife. I was given the Work Champ one Christmas and loved it. It has loads of useful tools on it, but you wouldn't be dissapointed if you went with the Farmer. It is half the wieght, and the selection of tools have proved themselves to be useful. Plus the cost of them makes them a bargain in my humble opinion. Thanks again Gary, all the best, Mark.
Great review Mark. The only thing about the Farmer I wish they would change is to remove the second can opener and replace it with a smaller wood carving blade. Some red G-10 scales would be nice as well. lol Question what back pack are you using? I'm very particular, and I'm still search for the perfect pack for my gear. lol Thanks thumbs up!
Hi PCL Outdoors & Bushcraft, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment my friend. The backpack is the 5:11 Rush 72. Great pack, very comfortable and a good size. Yeah it would look nice in G-10, They would have to change the name though lol. Have a great day, all the best, Mark.

Great review you just got a subscriber! I’m 13 and myMy parents are very overprotective and I’m not sure how to ask them to get this Swiss Army knife I really want it, could you help me make a case. Thank you.
Hi Everything JI, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment :) Yeah that is the problem today. When I was 13, many years ago most of us would carry a knife for fishing and camping and just messing about. The best way to get your parents consent is to have a use for the knife. If you are thinking about going camping or fishing then it is nothing more than a necessary tool. I think with the knife crime as it is a lot of parents worry. But if you need one to do a job, then you need one. Thank you for the sub.... it is very much appreciated, all the best, Mark :)
Or you could talk your parents into taking you on a one day bushcraft course with one of the many bushcraft schools; they will teach you how to use a knife properly, safely, as well as other outdoors things and so on, and your parents could even join in and learn something about the outdoors to.
@@ccmogs5757 Not too far off. Its a Stoke accent. A lot of people say it sounds crossed between Scouse and Brummie lol. Thanks for the sub, once I can get back out I will start doing the videos again. Have a great weekend, all the best, Mark :)
it is an upgrade of an old model that they called soldier model it alwas had an alumium handle unlike the officer serie red plastic handle ps : old soldier model did not have a saw the awl is the best of all better than the one you can find on any other model thanks for sharing
Hi VEI DORJE, many thanks for watching and for the information. It is my preferred model out of the range, as I find the tool selection fits my needs more than some other models. Thanks again and have a great weekend, all the best, Mark :)
Not really. The Pioneer (same as the Farmer bu no saw) and the Farmer were introduced in 1957. The Pioneer was then selected to be the base for the Alox Soldier ("model 1961") that was issued to the soldiers of the Swiss Army between 1962 and 2008. So the Pioneer (and the Farmer) is the predecessor of the Alox Soldier, not the other way around as many people think.
The victorinox farmer was Introduced in 1957 what that's amazing wow I really didn't think it was about that long I really like my victorinox farmer x👌 and most of all I really like Swiss army knife video's I've been seeing you in the comments and I've got to give you credit because you know your stuff when it comes to those Swiss army knifes thanks again pal👍
Hi Nico, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I had a knife that used to do that. If the same thing is happening to yours as it was mine, it was because the saw blade was slightly bent, or I was pushing the saw across when I was pulling it out or putting it back in. I know they are very close together whilst closed. I haven't had any issues with the farmer, but I would email Victoriox to see if it is covered under the guarantee. I hope you get it sorted. All the best, Mark :)
Mark Bailey Wow! Thank you so much for your response! In fact, that friction doesn't cause any problems. it's just a little annoying, as if it were something that shouldn't happen. I will follow your advice and contact Victorinox, to see what they tell me. Thank you!
Hi peerce5 the jacket is made by a company called Prologic. I was lucky to work for a fishing company who bought the last 200 of them. The owner was selling sell for £40 each instead of the rrp. In fact it doesn't look like this anymore. A few seasons of wearing around fisheries for work and it is coming to the end of its life. But if you are looking for something similar, then Prologic still make similar jackets and smocks. You can either check out their website or Amazon has a good range. Have a great weekend, all the best, Mark :)
I have a couple of friends who I sometimes meet up with, but they live a good distance away. So most of the time I go out on my own too. I don't really mind it, I like the solitude. If you go onto facebook, there is a good selection of groups on there. Some may be local to you and have meet ups and camp out etc. Worth a look to see.
Cut my finger in half to the first joint peeling potatoes as a kid with one. Don't do that. On another note, only nail clipper I've used for decades, solid scissors.
I thought you may have deleted them. Sometimes things can be slow and the comments come in out of order. I think I have seen them now. What area you do live?
Shame you weren't a bit closer. I would say to try Facebook if you haven't already. I used to talk and meet up with a couple of groups a few years ago. Decent bunch of guys, but they were in the Birmingham area. Sorry I couldn't be anymore help than that.
it's ok I'm starting to go on bushcraft uk forum quite a bit now so hopefully that will help. To be honest I really want to start making my own youtube videos as well but don't know where to start I've been wanting to do it for ages but not plucked up the courage haha
It is easy to make a You Tube video. I tend to use a camera, laptop and editing software, but I know a lot of people who use their phone and the You Tube editor. Once you have uploaded a couple of videos it becomes second nature. I think what puts people off is the worry of negative comments etc. If it's constructive criticism then take it on board, if its someone just wanted to run me down, then I just ignore them. If I can do it, I'm sure you can!! Let me know if you do, I will be your first subscriber!!
It's great to watch someone who actually knows how to use the tools.

Ordered it yesterday. Iam exited for the weekend. Some Tea and fiddling around with the Farmer in the woods!
Hi Kuecken, thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I'm sure you will love it. Great knife for the money. Have a great day, all the best, Mark.
I really enjoyed you casually teaching us how to make a very practical walking/resting stick!

A really helpful and useful upload! Much better than a tabletop review! Thanks for the upload! just got yourself a subscriber
Hi James, many thanks for watching and for the sub, it is very much appreciated :) Have a great day, all the best, Mark.
Thanks, Mark.
Catching up with some of your older videos. As always, super useful content. Thank you so much for sharing.

Good morning Imran, I hope you have been keeping well my friend :) Many thanks for stopping by and catching up :) There should be a new video up today. I am just finishing the last pieces to it. Have a great day, all the best, Mark :)
great little knives those victorinox I have a couple of them the saws are fantastic for the size
Hi Chris, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Yeah for the money the are a great little knife. Well made and a good price. At the moment I don't sell any leather work, it is something that I may do once I am happy with the end result. Thanks again for watching, all the best, Mark.
No1 use of the saw for me is making a walking stick!!
It works great for ferro rod, but folds on itself if you’re not careful while you spark it. Can jam your finger or knuckles in the saw teeth. Cheers.
@@knoxherrington299 Hi Knox, I hope you are keeping well mate. Many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. All the best, Mark :)
The saw is great. This is my favorite Victorinox knife.
Thanks for watching Erik :) I agree, for the size, the saw has been a very handy tool. Out of the Victorinox range the Farmer suits my needs best. Have a great day, all the best, Mark :)
Ordered two after watching this. Love both. Thanks for the great vid !
Hi Minimalist Geezer, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Yeah I love mine as well. They are great knife and has a set of tools that I find useful. Have a great day, all the best, Mark. :)
I’ve got the x model with the scissors ✂️. The quality of these things is amazing 🤩
Many thanks for watching Marc 👍👍.

I subscribed mate. :-)
Very detailed and informative. Thanks.
Hi Tom, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment :) have a great day, all the best, Mark :)
First time watching a video by this presenter, and I only lost less than 10% of what he was saying. I'm proud of myself! Good video too!
Hi Savio, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment :) I hope you have a great week ahead, all the best, Mark :)
You did better than I.
@@southerncomfort7490 Many thanks for watching and for the comment my friend. I hope you are keeping well.... all the best, Mark :)
The can opener is good when it comes to making a twig burning stove from a discarded can.
Great job
Hi Paul, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 👍. Have a great day, all the best, Mark 😀.
Great review Mark. I've been looking for a good skinning and food prep knife lately. Thanks for expanding my horizons. Have a wonderful week. - Josh
Cool
Hi Topcat 129, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I hope you are keeping well, all the best, Mark 👍.
Actually it may have been one of those little zip key ring holders. Sorry

How do you rate the boker tech tool range 12c27 steel main blade, is that better steel than victorinox blade steel? I’ve got no idea
Mark :)
@@markbailey2981 thanks Mark , it does help 👍🏻
How many people really need the bottle opener or can opener?
Give me a large blade, small blade, awl, and hawkbill blade.
Another very practical video. Thanks!
Thanks for watching Leighton, have a great day, all the best, Mark.
Mark Bailey Just bought the Farmer. It looks like a great little knife for the woods.

I have got a Victorinox Huntsman and I have measured the saw. It is 73 mm long like on yours so I believe this must be the same saw like on alox models. I was curios you know because I was thinking probably they strenghtened up a bit like on the blade they did.
Thank you for sharing this with me. Keep safe.

Another useful video Mark. I was looking for a slimed down version of the Champion!

Thank you for the sub.... it is very much appreciated, all the best, Mark :)
get new parents
Or you could talk your parents into taking you on a one day bushcraft course with one of the many bushcraft schools; they will teach you how to use a knife properly, safely, as well as other outdoors things and so on, and your parents could even join in and learn something about the outdoors to.

My Farmer's saw (its teeth) touches the blade when I unfold it and when I fold it again
Does it happen to anyone else?
Thank you!
Why does it sound like you are indoors in a large stone building, with echo?
Can you make this video in English.?
I like your vids.
Regards
Hi KleinaGansta.... Thank you my friend. I hope you are keeping well, all the best, Mark.
What jacket is that?
Hi peerce5 the jacket is made by a company called Prologic. I was lucky to work for a fishing company who bought the last 200 of them. The owner was selling sell for £40 each instead of the rrp. In fact it doesn't look like this anymore. A few seasons of wearing around fisheries for work and it is coming to the end of its life. But if you are looking for something similar, then Prologic still make similar jackets and smocks. You can either check out their website or Amazon has a good range. Have a great weekend, all the best, Mark :)
Awesome vid:D
Thanks SMBT Productions...... have a great day my friend, all the best, Mark.
Say what now....
A little easier to understand at .75x playback, but overall a great video.
Hi Milkman4279, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment :) Have a great weekend, all the best, Mark.
do u ever have meet ups for like minded people none of my pals are willing to give bushcrafting a try which results in me going on solo trips
On another note, only nail clipper I've used for decades, solid scissors.
dat accent tho... epic!!!
I thought my first two comments had disappeared that's why there's a few
I thought you may have deleted them. Sometimes things can be slow and the comments come in out of order. I think I have seen them now. What area you do live?
lancaster
