John Deere Moco repairs...farming, fixing, and fabricating for hay season

- We are making repairs to our john deere 1360 Moco also known as a disc bine. Last year some gears lost teeth and made their way through the cutter bar destroying several gears along the way. Since we didn't have a shop to work on it through the winter we waited until spring which was not our best choice. So here we are trying to play catch up🤷♂️

That is very nice of you to help your Dad in the shop Gage! I love shop videos! Take care and God bless!
I greatly appreciate when he does. Shop videos are fun but I really need to be knocking down hay...
@@FreedomFarmsMo I feel your pain. Hurry up and wait is a lifestyle for hard working people. I hope the weather clears for long enough to get things done. Seems like a very rainy year for quite a few people.
This Moco has been the biggest issue this year
@@FreedomFarmsMo May be a good candidate for a full tear down over the winter, or sooner. Will make a great video!
Oh it's happening sooner...you'll see in the next couple videos
Hi guys great job you both done and memories for a lifetime . hope you are all well ? see you on the next one stay safe and take care
Thanks Hulk, I hope they are memories for a lifetime for sure
The knowledge and wisdom that you can pass down is worth more than rubies and gold in this world...Some may see a breakdown, but I see an opportunity to gain knowledge, which can be applied into wisdom later. 💪🇺🇲👍
That's how it happened for me. Grandpa was always taking something apart🇺🇸
@@FreedomFarmsMo a true wise man never knows it it all, but he figures it out. And the wisest of men, share that knowledge. 😉
I would definitely agree with that!
i have a MOCO 926. This repair is in my near future....
It wasn't terrible but it is time consuming to say the least
Andy Hourigan would be thrilled you call him out in your title. If you want to watch a farmer fix things, Farming Fixing& Fabricating is a great channel to subscribe to. Keep it up. Shop is looking good.
Andy is always fixing something for sure. I really enjoy their channel. Thanks, it's coming along nicely but I'm ready to have it done.
@@FreedomFarmsMo Put Gage on it. He gets it done!
😂 that's a good plan!
Hey Sarge the shop looks good but I got a funny story talking about your hoodie I have to dress in long sleeves no matter how hot it is during hay season because I have a severe allergy to Grass
Thanks, it's gonna be worth the labor at the end. That is not a funny story, that would be miserable. I'm sure you have learned to deal with it at this point but still that is unfortunate.
God said "This man needs to repair some equipment, I think some heavy rain is in order!!" ...And then there was rain.
I am thankful the rain was when it was for sure. God is always looking out for us. I just wish this Moco was working like it should is all.🤷♂️ We will get her fixed up though
@@FreedomFarmsMo You have faith, determination, & skills. The most valuable of these is Faith!! Wanna make God laugh, tell him your plans...LOL HE laughs at me all the time!!
Thanks, you are not the only one he laughs at😂🤣
@@maverick5006 Agreed! 🙏🙌
Do you think those teeth were missing when you worked on the machine last fall?
We worked on it last winter but honesty it is possible since we didn't tear the whole bar apart. Now that I think about it is very likely that could have been the time.
I have a 1470 put new idler gears in timed them back in and thay don’t hit kick pto in and spin just fine but as soon as I start feeding it the clutch starts smoking is this a timing issue
Sound like your slip clutch is the issue on your mower. If you had a timing issues you'd hear it. The turtles would start hitting each other and breaking teeth off of gears.
@@FreedomFarmsMo Na nasze 70 USD to będzie około 300 PLN , a nowe koło zębate u delera 1600 PLN czyli około 367 USD . Jak zacznę remont to też będę szukał używanych części , a czeka mnie wszystko to co ty robiłeś od zaczepu do tylnego koła :) . Pozdrawiam , a i mam na imię Piotr , miło tak sobie pogadać przez ocean :)
how much oil need to fill up cutterbar
2 liters or just a little over 2 quarts
How much oil does the bar take
It takes 2 liters. We used 80-90w gear oil
Thank you I appreciate it I don’t have a owners manual
You're welcome

That's not funny, that's cruel and unusual punishment. That would be rough unless you have a tractor with good strong ac
