Excellent motivation to get my dolls waiting for a good scrub and hair wash done! Ever since I saw your videos on how you organize your dolls and accessories, I've been on a mission to reorganize my collection. I love how your set up looks and how accessible everything is. Seeing your works in progress is always interesting! It's amazing how you guys can make dolls look better than brand new!
Aw, thank you so much :) Best of luck reorganizing your collection! It was definitely my goal to make all my stuff as accessible and easy to find as possible, especially with how much stuff we have ha ha!
I genuinely LOVE watching all your videos and I especially love these long videos. You guys are the best and it’s such a comfort watching you and Colleen.
I have dolls scattered all over the house, but my main doll room really needed to be tidied. Your video has actually given me a bit more motivation. Especially when it comes to my American Girl dolls. Thanks for your great videos!
Your clean up videos are so satisfying. This might be the first one about managing a huge haul of new dolls. ❤ I have to say, Colleen is such a ray of sunshine. Her commentary about the bug's taste in BSC books was so endearing. Happy to see the porcelain dolls get some love. Another highlight (so far) all the cabbies drying in the sun. ❤
I always love your videos ever since I watched the one about the story of your house and your lovely parents. There is something so incredible about the way you take care of your house, dolls, and each other. I am amazed at how much you get done. I am still incorporating dolls in from my summer travel. I love how you can find things. This may motivate me to work in my attic. Thanks so much for this.
Lmaooo the CP out sunbathing, so cute :) I also have been doing lots of washing and restoring this month. Collecting dolls is such a diverse hobby that can keep you really busy. Great video, I really enjoyed it
@@AThousandSplendidDolls Me too. By the way this video cost me some money lol, once I seen Julie in that purple outfit I just had to have it, it is so so cute.
I absolutely love Julie's School Outfit--worth every penny (got mine for 20% off luckily). It's SO well made--one of the nicest pieces in her whole collection :)
I'm impressed with the patience, time and attention you devote to your doll care and to your videography. There is so much hard work done here. Thanks for sharing all that you two do. I'm a big fan of these plastic storage bins! Have you guys ever had problems with the plastic in the containers causing problems to dolls or clothes? Thanks and virtual hugs to you both.
Aw, thank you so much :) Nope, I've never had issues with the plastic containers. They are far more protective than any other type of storage bin (especially considering that cardboard is a breeding ground for mold and bugs).
I love your video ❤ Thank you for sharing how you fix up your Dolls and organize them. I like your collection of Babysitters Club Books ❤ Stay safe and take care.🎉🎉
I can completely relate to the thing you said about you have to create chaos to get rid of the chaos. I've been trying to organize my workshop, too and you girls are really helping me stay focused. I have noticed that it was feeling like the mess was getting worse even though I was working on organizing, so it's good to know this is normal on the road to progress lol. I love these long videos with a bunch of different projects. Thank you so much! I hope all is well with you both. xoxoxo
Thanks for sharing. I love your videos. I've been watching you guys for a very long time. I remember when you stopped making videos. So glad you came back. I remember asking you years ago about if you had to get a lawyer for probate. You answered my question. I don't know if you remember me asking that. Everything worked out for my brother and I. So glad I was able to pay off this place. We live in SC. I love your videos because they teach me so much. I had to sell a lot of my dolls do to losing my job of 30 years. Now that I'm working again I started going to the thrift stores and buying baby dolls. That is my focus. I kept all my Paradise Galleries dolls. I love the thrill of the hunt. What baby doll will this Goodwill have? You know what I mean. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I have learned so much. My Dolly sisters take care. 👍❤️👍
Aw, thank you so much :) Yes, I remember talking to you about that--I'm so glad it all worked out with you and your brother. I'm sorry you lost your job for a while and had to sell some dollies. Best of luck thrifting for baby dolls!

I love that you have each other and have such a Lovely hobby to do together 🥰🥰You are such an inspiration and i am always so Happy to see you lovely Ladies 😊😊You have this all down pat and make it look so easy when it is not easy. I have learned so much from watching your videos. I just started collecting dolls in the last couple of years and i can't tell you how much you have helped me when i was at a loss as to what to do about this or that. Aw, thank you so much :) I'm so glad that our videos could be helpful to you in some way! It definitely gets easier the longer you collect dolls, but it still can be really time consuming.
I'm sorry that happened to some of your books, Colleen. I can't imagine the same thing happening to my childhood books - they are not in my own bedroom but they are safe and sound in me and my sister's old play room. I think the notification for this video finally made me get some stuff done as well, haha. I dressed some of my Bratz dolls that were waiting for their outfits. I still have other Bratz dolls with more intricate hair styles waiting for their hair to be washed. They've been on display for a long time and I am bad at maintaining my shelves so they are very dusty. I think I am going to store them in a plastic bin after I am done and put them on display in rotation so they all get a bit of love. It will be more manageable I think. Today I did the finishing touches on my Maggie Raggies doll, they are a bit like Cabbage Patch dolls. I trimmed the ends of her hair and it looks a lot neater now. Sorry for the rambling, but I hope this motivates whoever reads it even more to get dolly stuff done haha. My doll projects will sadly be put on hold after today as I have my wisdom teeth removal surgery this Wednesday and will probably need to rest for a while. Hopefully I can work on my doll projects again soon. I think I'll be watching the rest of the video while I recover from surgery, it will keep me busy in a good way :)
Colleen was super devastated, but at least most of the books survived without damage (and she already replaced the bad ones). I'm so glad that this video could help you get some stuff done. It sounds like you made some great headway with your own dolly projects. Sometimes it's definitely easier having less dolls on display because they are easier to maintain! I hope your wisdom tooth surgery goes well.
Interesting that you mentioned Baby-Sitters Club books. Baby-Sitters Club books started my love of reading (specifically the Little Sister books did), and I've been collecting them for years at various places secondhand. I was thinking about them the other day and went and grabbed the first five to read. Mine are kept in my doll room (AG books are stored there too as well as other childhood favorites like the Ramona books). Silica gel can help repel moisture. When I get new AG stuff, I always save the silica gel packets for this. I live in the South, so it's high humidity, and I put them into jigsaw puzzle boxes to protect puzzles I'm keeping (I build jigsaw puzzles as a hobby). Maybe put some silica gels with the books if you don't want them stored in air tight containers. You can have friends and family save them from things like shoe boxes when they buy shoes or from handbags or anything that comes with them. Activated charcoal also repels moisture, but silica gel comes in a lot of things, so it's like a little bonus.
It's awesome that the Babysitter's Club books started your love of reading! I've tried the silica gel before with doll stuff. It doesn't work where we live...it absorbs moisture in a couple of hours ha ha. Such a bummer too because I bought a ton of it only to realize it was useless. Luckily the moisture itself wasn't a problem with the books. I think it was the little gaps in the molding around the ceiling and the small hole that let the bugs in.
@@AThousandSplendidDolls Yeah, I've never had a basement (I've lived in 8 houses/apartments in my life since my parents kept moving, though the house I'm in now was totally me buying it a few years after my mom died). Basements aren't that common in my area, so I've never had large moisture issues outside humidity. Activated charcoal can be bought in large quantities and could help if you needed it for anything. I'm glad the books ruined for Colleen were the cheap ones. I've been searching for the last 3 books I need from the main series. They're all way too pricey, including the highest being $48 (no way am I spending that on that book). Glad it wasn't that one for her. If she has it, protect #120. That one is expensive. 119 is too.
Around here the air is super humid--sometimes 100% humidity. I've actually used activated charcoal before, but it doesn't last long due to the moisture. She does have those books actually--she had no idea they were so expensive. I hope you can find the ones you are missing for a reasonable price someday :)
I m supper sorry about the babysitter club collection! I've had a similar encounter. We had a paper portrait of my mother in a frame and the back seal of the frame was a thin cardboard, strange insects had gotten in and sadly devoured a good portion of the portrait. I am glad though you were able to fix the issue and I thing bagging the books was a great idea. its possible that it is the same insect we had dealt with a while back because we lamented what we had left of the drawing in a plastic covering and then sealed it in a better frame which saved it. hopefully those insects don't come back.
I'm so sorry that your mother's portrait was eaten by similar insects. It's really devastating when something like that happens, because you just don't expect it. So far the bugs haven't returned to the closet after I repaired/sealed the ceiling and with the bagging system :)

I enjoy your video very much.I think it's so ironic that you display your mini Maryellen with your Nanea doll .I display my mini Nanea with My Maryellen. This greatest thing happened this Friday.I been wanting a bitty twin brunette girl for a long time.I try to get one one off ebay but I lost the bid.Well this Friday while having church in nursing home I live in come in and she had the bitty twin girl I want and she gave her to me.I just over the moon about it.I even name Rosemary after the lady who gave her to me. 4:05
Thank you! It's so cute that you display your mini Nanea with your Maryellen. Congrats on getting the brunette Bitty Twin girl. I love the name you chose for her, and it's so sweet that someone gave you her :)
Sorry to hear you had an experience of hair shrinkage with boil washing! I had it happen to a "sarah louise debenhams mini sindy" doll i found. Lovely red hair that turned like minced beef on the top of her head when i dunked her in. I was absolutely devastated and had to reroot, luckily she is only a tiny doll but it is scary and makes you wary of other dolls of the 70s/80s era 😟😊💜💜💜
It's awful that the same thing happened to your doll :( I've boil washed literally thousands of dolls and that has never happened to me. Kanekalon will ball up, but it doesn't do that inside the head, so it can be smoothed out easily. I didn't know hair could shrink up like that! I'm glad you were able to reroot your doll :)
Hopefully this doesn't sound odd but your videos soothe me, I have mild to moderate ocd, and your methodical care of your Beautiful collections is very therapeutic. I have two daughters roughly your ages, my youngest is a farm hand and has her own small farm and has anxiety and my middle daughter is a Nurse, and have a very similar relationship to you girls, Best Friends and sisters, I also have a channel and collect reborns, your parents are smiling down from Heaven, for having raised such kind, lovely girls. ❤Hugs Julie and Dolls ps. Have you ever read Animal Ark books, they are fabulous ❤😊
Silverfish are bad and can damage a house like termites/carpenter ants (just not as drastically and quickly) and are more common in older house. The last two houses we lived in had them, very old homes, they will shred clothes books curtains a LOT. Here's some quick info because just plastering the ceiling won't get rid of them they live all over the house unfortunately. Silverfish can enter homes from outside around the foundation or be brought in by mistake. They can come inside on items like: Infested dry food products Boxes of books or paper Fabrics Firewood Clothing Christmas trees Furniture Once inside, silverfish can hide in dark places like logs and rocks, or in damp areas like basements, attics, crawl spaces, and laundry rooms. They are often found in bathrooms and attics when they come out to look for food and water. Silverfish eat glue, adhesives, and other items with high starch and sugar content. Silverfish can cause damage to property, including holes, stains, and damage to books, clothing, carpets, and wallpaper. They can also trigger allergic reactions in some people when they shed during molting, but these cases are rare. To prevent silverfish, you can try: Spraying a crawling insect insecticide aerosol in areas where you see silverfish Treating cracks and crevices where silverfish may rest during the day Sealing off refuges Checking for damp stains Ensuring water pipes and gutters are intact Managing indoor condensation, which may be caused by unventilated tumble dryers or cooking Placing bay leaves or cloves where insects appear, as silverfish don't like their scent
Thanks for the info :) I did some research when we discovered the books--we didn't just fix the ceiling no worries. The silverfish have been in the house for years--mostly in the pantry. It's not a huge infestation, just part of being in an old house as you said. The book incident is the only issue we've ever had, and there hasn't been a problem since we addressed it :)
I feel bad for my Dollies as I’m moving back home this month so some 12 inch dolls are going in storage not cleaned because I don’t have time to clean them between boxing things up. Sadly they’re also going to stay in storage except for my American girl dolls and my baby doll collection.
They actually have some sort of Netflix type of series for it--but they made some changes I guess. I never got into the books myself, but I remember grabbing some at the library for Colleen, when they were giving books away at school :)
I always try scrubbing it off first (sometimes a magic eraser removes it). But I've had to use acetone before, and it was fine. It works well to use a toothpick to get the acetone into the grooves of the mold, if the nail polish gets stuck there :)
I was candeling some lace about 3 weeks ago & one piece caught fire so of course I used my fingers to put it out. What I didnt realize is the lace also melted & was stuck to my fingers & I wondered why my thumb was burning. Yeah, I had freshly melted lace stuck to my thumb continuing to burn & I had a big white blister. I soaked my thumb in cool water for an hour just to get relief because the burning would not stop. That is what I get for being in a hurry & not paying attention. I am going on my 2nd week of moving rooms in the house, I have so much more space now in the bigger room & I love it. I just finished filling up the shelves in the closet with my fabrics but still have a long way to go. The longest & hardest part is going to be my dolls. All the Monster High I had on the shelving are in laundry baskets waiting for a spa day & to go back on the shelves. I am going to clean all my OMG's too but they do not require as much cleaning. That I am saving til last because that will probably be another 2 week process.
Ouch! That sounds like it really hurt when you accidentally burned your finger. I hope it healed up well. I'm glad that you will have more space at your new house. Best of luck sorting through all of your dollies and giving the ones that need it baths :)
You guys should totally try Shout Color Catcher sheets for the bleeding. I know there's also a cheaper knockoff brand as well, so u get it a bit cheaper. Regardless, they aren't too expensive and do work very well. I'm so happy to see u have comments on. I always have good things to say when I watch ur videos and am grateful not to have to try to communicate with u in a roundabout way, lol. Let's cross our fingers that everybody keeps it classy! Plz ppl!! Love ur videos. Thanks for all ur hard work! ✌️💜✌️💜 P.S. I refer to ur Flickr almost on a daily basis for help identifying dolls, so thanks for that! Quick question, we know the Ultimate Barbie Book is best, but is there a specific equivalent or close to it that u could suggest for from the time that Book ends up until about 2000-2002?🤷♀️🤔
I always use those color catchers actually--there were tons of them in the laundry bins for this video! They totally work and are worth the price (especially because you can reuse them for years---I have some that are probably three years old). Thank you! I've definitely gotten some of those same nasty comments that scared me off UA-cam before. But I'm in a better headspace to handle them luckily. Thank you so much--it means so much to me that you use my Flickr regularly! I wish there was a book that covered those years, but sadly there is not :( The third edition of J. Michael Augustyniak's "Barbie Doll Exclusives" books is pretty good for playline early 2000s dolls, but it's not comprehensive like "The Ultimate Barbie Book" is (it just shows store exclusives, but that's still very helpful).
@AThousandSplendidDolls It's too bad that they never came out with an Ultimate 2nd version for at least a few additional years. I love that book! U know what would be genius and so amazing, if someone came out with a reference identification guide that went by 1) Eye color 2) Eye Makeup 3) Number of Lashes Top and Bottom and 4) Shape and Placement of White Markings in the Iris. I would so spend good money on that type of guide! Lol, but that's wishful thinking and highly unlikely, but a girl can dream! Thanks again for all the hard work and ur response. I appreciate u and Colleen! Tell her thanks as well. God bless ✌️ 💜
I completely agree! I always wished there was a website or something that you could use those sorts of details to search for dolls (or even clothes) :)
There isn't a way to fix hair once it has burned. Unfortunately you only have a couple of options. You can trim off the burned portions or you can reroot them.
Some dolls I don't know exactly which release they are, if say it's a generic one like Kid Kore Katie. But I don't currently own any dolls that I have no idea what they are :)
❤ Not finished watching yet, but close, and wanted to mention a couple of my favorite things before they escape me: I love that Baldwin is named Baldwin and is bald
It is so ironic that his name is Baldwin...I think that's one of the reasons we fell in love with him on Mercari :) The penguin was a gift from my dad's friend in 2011. He had that penguin out at a yard sale (which my dad was set up too). I stared at that darn thing all day, thinking about how cute it was. At the end of the day, Steve said I could have it!

Aw, thank you so much for your kind words :) I'm so glad that my videos could help soothe you in some way!
They can come inside on items like:
Infested dry food products
Boxes of books or paper
Fabrics
Firewood
Clothing
Christmas trees
Furniture
Once inside, silverfish can hide in dark places like logs and rocks, or in damp areas like basements, attics, crawl spaces, and laundry rooms.
To prevent silverfish, you can try:
Spraying a crawling insect insecticide aerosol in areas where you see silverfish
Treating cracks and crevices where silverfish may rest during the day
Sealing off refuges
Checking for damp stains
Ensuring water pipes and gutters are intact
Managing indoor condensation, which may be caused by unventilated tumble dryers or cooking
Placing bay leaves or cloves where insects appear, as silverfish don't like their scent
Poor dollies :( At least your American Girls and baby dolls can be out!
You guys have a whole bunch of babysitter books. Never really got into them but I'm surprised that they didn't have a movie or TV series of it yet.
They actually have some sort of Netflix type of series for it--but they made some changes I guess. I never got into the books myself, but I remember grabbing some at the library for Colleen, when they were giving books away at school :)
Do you use acetone for nail polish on AG? I thrifted one with painted nails and have been afraid to try it...
😢 on the books 📚
At least most of them were okay :)
Hi Shelly I have a wildlife safari Nevra with burnt hair what should I do?
There isn't a way to fix hair once it has burned. Unfortunately you only have a couple of options. You can trim off the burned portions or you can reroot them.
Oh thank you
Have you ever had dolls you could not figure out who they are? Just wondering who the tuffies are.
Some dolls I don't know exactly which release they are, if say it's a generic one like Kid Kore Katie. But I don't currently own any dolls that I have no idea what they are :)
@@AThousandSplendidDolls Wow that is amazing.
Oculus repairo 🤓
Haha!
@@AThousandSplendidDolls Aw what a sweet story ❤❤❤❣️
