Hello there! It has been a LONG time since commenting on your videos (years I think), but after a very long hiatus and much needed soul searching and attention to my mental health, I have just dug back into my collection! I learned that I should always engage in what makes me happy - and no one can stamp an age limit on that. Watching your videos again is such a breath of fresh air, and I had forgotten how enjoyable the entire process of doll collecting is. You and Colleen seem to be doing wonderfully and I am looking forward to keeping up with your videos again! Much love, Heidi 🤗
Aw, thank you so much! I'm so glad that you are doing better after a long hiatus and soul searching. It's so important to do what makes you happy--life is too short not to :)
Thank you--I'm glad you enjoy the longer ones! I think some of the later Magic Attic Club books didn't advertise the dolls, which might explain why you didn't know about them :)

Aw, thank you so much! I'm very glad to have the comments back on--I missed talking to people :) It's been a rough couple of weeks since our cat Andy passed away, but I hope to be back to posting soon.
I love the two outfits for Bitty Baby. I get very excited about getting the accessories for Bitty Bear. It is the cutest thing back when they made those. I basically only collect the old outfits from the days when they included things for B. Bear. It is great that Colleen has started to collect clothes for Magic Attic. I have never seen them. Well, other than in some ancient catalogues. They look really cute. It is my impression that they were almost as well made as the old AG outfits. But I haven't seen them in real life or touched them. ❤
Bitty Bear's stuff is so cute! I really love a lot of the new Bitty Baby clothes too. Some of the Magic Attic Club outfits are as nice as American Girl ones, others are just so so. The shoes, however, are horrendous quality!
I loved the video. All the dolls you got are beautiful and handsome. The code that you showed that look like the Cardinals and Narnia it also reminded me of my Narnia. I am a huge fan of Narnia as well as Harry Potter. À
Hey Shelly and Colleen! I'd like to share my own exciting find. I got my very own AMERICAN GIRL DOLL. First here's some backstory: I was obsessed with action figures as a young boy (TMNT, Marvel, DC, etc) but I was also interested in dolls, thanks to Barbie's movies, Bratz's popularity, Monster High's awesome commercials, and my sisters owning some. I discovered American Girl through the doll community on UA-cam and became interested in them too, despite mostly being into the 1/6 scale stuff. I ended up reading some of the books, watching Samantha, Molly, and Felicity's movies (someone uploaded them years ago), and learning about the brand's history. I saw no point in wanting any of the dolls though, for like I said in my comment on Megan's unboxing video, on top of the fact that the American Girl dolls are not available in my country, I was not allowed to have dolls at all. All I could do was watch doll videos on UA-cam in secret (I watched your guys' vids a ton when I discovered your channel in highschool, and I still do. I also enjoy viewing your photos and reading your stories on Flickr). Fast forward to four years ago, I finally decided to add fashion dolls I always wanted to my toy collection (I never stopped liking action figures and dolls) and my parents didn't mind, surprisingly. But by that point, I had somewhat lost interest in American Girl (although I still watched your videos about them). Then a couple of months ago, I found the Pleasant Company Meet Felicity Book I mentioned, that was signed and dated by Valerie Tripp, with the ad for the first six historical dolls and the postcard still intact. It such a cool find, that I started doing research and watching videos on American Girl again. As I stared at the picture of the six girls at the back of my book, I made up my mind that I would try to get one someday, particularly Felicity, Sam, Molly, or even Julie. I looked around to see if by chance there would be any available locally, and I came across a number 16 (just like your doll Valerie) for sale on Facebook! She was around $40 if you convert the currency, and looked to be in great condition. Though I did want a historical rather than a Girl of Today, number 16 resembles Samantha a lot, and is so beautiful and classic looking that I didn't mind. After thinking about it for several days, I ordered her on June 10 as an early birthday present for myself, exactly fifteen years after Valerie Tripp signed the Felicity book conincidentally. She arrived, I cleaned her up, and... I honestly have no words to fully describe/express how happy I am with her and how thankful I am to have her. She has the Pleasant Company stamp and full bangs, but also a small body tag and hard vinyl, so I'm guessing she's from the mid 2000s. Thankfully her limbs were still tight, and her hair was still soft and shiny (but I do have a question about her neck strings. They looked cut, but upon closer inspection, they are actually tucked inside her body. I wonder if this was done by the factory, and how should I undo it if ever I need to.) In anticipation of her arrival, I painstakingly sewed a plaid skirt (inspired by Sam, since she looks like her) and a white shirt so she'd have something nice to wear, and I named her Lisa. Lisa is absolutely amazing, and I am overjoyed to have her in my collection. 😁
Congrats on getting your first American Girl! Thanks so much for sharing the backstory behind her. It does sound like you have a mid 2000s Mattel doll, based on your description. It's odd about her neck strings...I've never heard about them being tucked inside the body. You should be able to slide something thin underneath them and pull them out. There is no way to tie the neck strings inside the body, so they must just be tucked in there super well. I hope you enjoy your beautiful Lisa for years to come! #16 is a super fun doll to dress---my Valerie looks fabulous in everything :)
I love these and I also don't mind them being long, I actually prefer the longer version! I love how you show the dolls the way you got them but also the out-of-the-box and cleaned-up versions ❤
