I had to quit a black barbershop cos the barbers there were always talking, eating or dabbing up any and every fellow who came through. I spent 2hrs before getting into the chair and I was like, this ish is ridiculous. I’m done. Booked an appointment at a white Sportsclips. In and out in 20mins. Never looked back.

I loooove a come up story! I am a product of a single parent household. My mom was a single parent (we were on food stamps when I was really small) but I never lacked anything bc she worked HARD and is still working at 63! She made sure I didn’t slack in school, that was important to her. She bought her first home in her 50s, handed me her 2000 neon when I was a junior in college, now Glory to God I’ll be graduating as a physician next year! When you have great work ethic, your faith in Jesus you can’t go wrong! Your kids will never EVER forget how you have provided for them, even when they rebel bc all kids do. They’ll always know their parents loved them with action! Congratulations on the house! Kadeem looked nervous to walk around...Girl walk in that House...it’s yours!!! 🙌🏾 This made me shed a tear, so happy for y’all!

This was, in no way, a cheat. As you've said "you've laid your bodies on the line" and lived through others success and waited your turn. Well Deserved!
I'm telling you, as a single young woman, this is the mindset I need from any man I consider as a potential partner. If a man isn't thinking long term about goals and intentions for his family, not just today but 20, 30 years down the line, I'm not interested. It's always been like that for me. One of my biggest fears is tying my life to someone who's not riding that wave. We need to be working together to build an EMPIRE, to ensure financial freedom for our descendants, to leave them an inheritance, etc. When people ask me why I'm not in the club poppin' bottles, taking trips (well, pre-COVID lol), living life, I just feel like every dollar I spend on that today is a dollar I'm taking away from my future family's liberation. What Devale and Khadeen are doing is GOALS. Not a big wedding, not trips, not fancy clothes and cars (although that's all nice haha) but THIS.
Remember, they have been together for years and went through a whole lot of shit. Especially through Devales addiction, depression and other things that we don't know about. Are you willing to stick by your man the way Khadeen stood by Devale throughout all these years? She was with him way before the money and fame. Don't look at other people's lives as goals because you don't know everything that they had to go through to get where they are now.

I'm telling you, as a single young woman, this is the mindset I need from any man I consider as a potential partner. If a man isn't thinking long term about goals and intentions for his family, not just today but 20, 30 years down the line, I'm not interested. It's always been like that for me. One of my biggest fears is tying my life to someone who's not riding that wave. We need to be working together to build an EMPIRE, to ensure financial freedom for our descendants, to leave them an inheritance, etc.
When people ask me why I'm not in the club poppin' bottles, taking trips (well, pre-COVID lol), living life, I just feel like every dollar I spend on that today is a dollar I'm taking away from my future family's liberation. What Devale and Khadeen are doing is GOALS. Not a big wedding, not trips, not fancy clothes and cars (although that's all nice haha) but THIS.
Remember, they have been together for years and went through a whole lot of shit. Especially through Devales addiction, depression and other things that we don't know about. Are you willing to stick by your man the way Khadeen stood by Devale throughout all these years? She was with him way before the money and fame. Don't look at other people's lives as goals because you don't know everything that they had to go through to get where they are now.
