Thank you! My Java fern is putting out baby rhizomes off it's leaf and i'm excited to be able to harvest them and plant in other spots on my tank!

How long should I let baby plants stay attached to main leaf? Should they stay on & grow as big as possible, or remove & let them float till they’re larger?

I did have my mircro sword pop out a new plant today. It glued it to a log and plan on getting a lot more glued to the log I think it will look amazing. And I just got some red root floaters in today and they have a bunch of small red root floaters popping off. I cant wait for those to go into my tank they will look amazing. I'm letting them sit a few days in a quarantine tank with some fertilizer and I have some red cabomba and some green leafy think that will look amazing it was a free plant I got with the red and green cab or cob idk how to spell it lol. But dude I have been looking for that plant but cant find the name but now I have it my tank is going to be amazing

Would the dye on thread harm the tank?
Tubers and rhizomes are often confused. The only real difference is one grows vertically and the other grows horizontally so no real worries about getting them mixed up
What kind of fertilizer do you suggest? I have the windelov Java fern.
I've actually never tried any fertilizers. Does the one you have seem to work pretty well?
I’m a newbie to the hobby. I only have one in the 29 gallon that I super glued myself. And I just ordered one from eBay on lava rock.
@@darreldavis1 Cool! Java fern is a pretty nice aquarium plant to have. In my experience it takes a while to grow, but in time you will have a bunch of it
Nice vid and plants mate they're super green 🌿🌿ive been glueing some Java ferns to lava rocks for my Gourami tank a while ago and I love them. Do you use that tank in the vid just to grow ferns and anubias? How often do you do water changes on that one? And no fertilizers I suppose? Also do u filter it. I have one empty tank left just sitting in my garage thought I might grow some ferns in there. Cheers
Thank you! I also love java fern. They might be one of my favorite plants. I actually usually keep guppies in this tank, but at the time of this video I had all my guppies in my outdoor pond. If I remember correctly I brought the guppies back indoors in the end of October. I try to do water changes about once a week on that tank (that's when I have fish in it, when the tank is empty I don't do anything) roughly 30% and I don't use any fertilizers or lights. The plants get a ton of sunlight in that spot. Too much sunlight in my opinion lol. And yeah I have a filter on it too, but if you aren't going to keep fish with the plants you may not even need to filter the tank.

If it is completely full it is 863 gallons

Awman that's what those are my java fern was propagating and I thought it was something else so I took them off and threw then away. That sucks. I really wanted some more java fern I really am mad at myself. I could have had 10 ferns not just one that looks kinda meeee it has one good leaf on it the rest are really small.
Wait I planted all my java fern. No wonder it all died but it propagated like crazy in the process so I guess we good

The Java ferns didn’t stand up straight after attaching them. They were all leaning and stuff. Don't like it all, but they're still alive.
Don't worry they will straighten themselves out over time
@@TobiasHolenstein yeah I had prop them up against the glass, filter, or heater in the back.
