I feel this song. Some women tell me that we men don't care where we get some, but believe it or not, ladies, some of us men can't make it happen in the sack when we know a woman's actions or attitudes are unacceptable to us. Lucille wouldn't be getting any from me when I know she could leave a man; especially with four hungry children and a crop in the field. I'd have told the man, "Yo, I didn't know she was married. I'm stepping off. Lucille, go back to them."

It's a great song. It's a pity I can't hear it without thinking of the mondegreen "four hundred children"! Is there a definitive version of that, or just lots of people? (In UK I think it was promulgated by Terry Wogan, though I don't think he actually did a whole song of it.)
You mention "his biggest hit 'Lucille". Not sure the criteria behind that distinction, but he has had many more successful hits than this one in the United States. I would say "Islands In The Stream" and "Lady" are probably considered his most successful singles.
What A classic country song... Kenny was one the beat country artist

Who's gonna raise the four hungry children? Selfish baby-mama!

Que Deus lembre-se dele na ressurreição dos mortos.

He has the best sexiest voice
I hope I'd have gone after him and said, 'Need a hand with the crop, mate?'
And he was in a WHEELCHAIR! Oh no - that's Ruby, don't take your love to town....

The Gambler Has To Be His Biggest Hit...
I wonder about this too. His biggest hit in the Netherlands, where TopPop is broadcasting from, is coward of the country...
@@PracticallyMagick - "The Gambler" only peaked at #16, while the two songs I mentioned hit #1.
