I applaud your ability to adjust to new redesigned vehicle that is so huge and clunky. Unfortunately seems that auto industry doesn’t always do a good job at getting feedback from the actual drivers on the comfort and safety features of a vehicle. We as humans are created to adjust wonderfully to whatever changes are thrown at us in life and our brain eventually gets rewired/overwritten from the old to new. Thank-You for doing important work of collecting garbage! 👍😀
Lots to learn in a new truck, I never got as good with that arm as you are when I was on residential, I'm now on roll off and love it. Great channel enjoy your videos
Man I know all about those round lights blinding you. Try driving a Mack TerraPro with a Heil… they put that whole Christmas tree at a 3 o’clock angle in front of you. You can’t see the road ahead, to your right, or your drivers window due to reflection. They are cool buttons but I agree 1000% on a dim option. Engineers need to be required to hold a CDL license and have minimum of 2 years industry experience!
There are a few things that I like about the battle (I've driven about 10 days as a demo, frontload heil body) Pros 1. the step up into the truck is low and easy on your knees 2. there is a vent that blows right where you can put your gloves to keep them warm and dry 3.the acceleration is excellent Cons 1.Wider than most cabs so I definitely don't recommend the short forks that come with a heil, some cans that are easy in other trucks are much more difficult 2. The interior of the cab is built poorly, I had random pieces falling out like the cup holder or trimming pieces that I kept having to put back in place 3. The truck had around 15k miles on it and it was already having power steering issues, I don't know what pump they used but they may want to use better quality here. Potentially where battle put the cooling fans will be very beneficial, having them behind the cab may prevent debris getting caught and dust getting sucked in can end up being a good thing. Although I would hate being the mechanic responsible for replacing those parts. + the train horn is fun 😂 I am a swing driver and have driven most styles of trucks, in most departments... FEL, RESI, ROL and a little rear load
You got a more thorough exposure than I did. Only drove it for a day, but agree with these points. particularly the train horn. For someone setting up a sideload route that allows for trash on the ground, the Battle Motor wouldnt be bad to make it easier to get in and out more often. But, for an established route that has rules about cart placement and no trash on the ground, I'd go back to Autocar easily.
I would love to demo one of these! They are built about an hour away from my service area. So far I have driven Mack, Autocar and Dennis Eagle and the Autocar wins for turning radius. Dennis Eagle was the most comfortable ride but the cab is so large it feels like driving a tour bus.
I sat in a Dennis Eagle when we visited the New Way factory in Scranton. Tour bus feel is absolutely accurate. They could put a cot in there and I may just run my routes continuous and commute home at the end of the week.

The one thing i like about the autocar and mack cabs is the windows all around helps with seeing more around the truck then the old solid wall cabs.
Had to put my sunglasses on just to watch the video😂
Put mine on to look cool.

I'd invite an engineer to ride along. They could learn a lot.

Great video!! That truck looks cool!

Looks good!
Nice video
So is this your full time truck now
No, just a demo. Back in the autocar
I bet you break the truck in the first week hydrolic leak!
Wouldn't know... we only had it for a day.
