Paranasal air sinuses

- The paranasal air sinuses often cause pain or discomfort if they get infected. Let's have a look on anatomical models and a human skull and see if we can find the four groups of sinuses in the face.
Is that a huge spider running across the floor at 7:10?

i think so
Haha yea
He kind of looks like Hugh Jackman
I used to hate anatomy but now I wish I could go back in time to study it again 😁 thank you
By far the best video I found on this. Extremely helpful and well explained. The numerous models we're definitely helpful.
What an extremely helpful, educational tool. I studied medicine long before the invention of UA-cam. What a fantastic teaching tool this would have been for me back then.
I always struggled to picture what was happening with these sinuses. I academically knew where they were but my mind's eye didn't have an accurate 3D rendition of the layout.
Marvellous video. The models make it so much easier to understand. 🎉
I got so excited when I saw the light passing thru thin areas in the bone lol
I love you Sam Webster!!! You have no idea how much clarity your videos bring
You make it so easy for us to understand things.
Thank You sir.
That sliced view was helpful in understanding the ethmoid air cells location, thank you!
it's such a cruel joke that in those tight spaces you can get polyps.
Thank you for this intuitive explanation
What a piece of work you did, Excellent!! Superb
anyone see at 5:21 through 7:14 something crawling in the background? You'll see it by the blue chair first.
love ur effort to make it as simple as one can understand ❤️
Awesome video! Really good explanation and in detailed
Thank You Sam! Very Much Appreciated!
Thank You for your explanation Dr. House!
Best instructive video about the sinuses I have found so far!
This is so so helpful ! Thank you
Thanks very helpful
Your video on CT maxillofacial anatomy was SOOO helpful. If time permits, more CT/MRI anatomy would VERY useful. Thanks so much for all you've done!
The best video on this subject I’ve found (and I’ve watched a lot!)
U r the best anatomy teacher
Lots of love and respect Sir.

the best explanation
Thanks a lot! Was really helpful 🙂🙂
Thank you sir
Thank you 😊
hello sam webster.i suffer badly 24/7 from empty nose syndrome after both my inferior turbinates where reduced 25%to 30%.some of my other symptoms are constant awfull tightness behind my nose basicly deep in middle of my face .kind of like a football with a puncture no air resistance to keep the football inflated.and awfull pain in the same regions deep in the middl of my face .i would probably say my case explains perfectly why the paranasal sinuses are important.i never had any of these problems before my turbinectomy.i just felt stuffy for about 4 weeks before my turbinectomy.i am certain all my tightness and crushing feeling in all my sinuses and head now is because some or none of the air is getting into my sinuses now to even out atmospheric air pressure.because most of the air is not directed upwards because of my reduced inferior turbinates.mainly my inferior turbinate heads.
Awesome teacher ! Salute to you@
Thank you so much 😍
Thanks! 🌹
Worthy watch, highly Academic.... kudos doctor
awesome anatomy
i have sinusitis and want know where location and how doctor enter to them amazing video and ur experience ty to much

You are Genius Sam, You are my saviour❤️😭
10:07. sphenoid sinuses open into superior meatus and not into middle meatus. Great videos you post! plz do continue!
himalaya niraula Isn’t it the sphenoethmoidal recess?
Great presentation…😍loved the models especially 😂
Great video, but the sphenoid sinus doesn't drain in the middle meatus
That was really helpful🤩
Great sir
Thank you doctor
Please one more time trace sinuses drainages, and also please trace nervous and artery inside nasal cavity,
Thank doctor ✔🙏
Great!
Best Doctor everrrrrrrrrr
In real anatomy you can see the bones are just the harder part of the muscles, if that makes sense. They aren't actually very separate or thick.
Good
Thanku from India
Thank u from Saudi arabia 🤝🇸🇦🇸🇦
Loved it 😊
Anatomical question : can sinus pain cause a pain in the front cheek ?
Thanks
SAM WEBSTER! Wow! Not an easy video to PRODUCE! No! Thank you so MUCH! So much! So MUCH! *Peace!
hello sir.. your video is really
Thank you so much ❤❤🔥that's was helpfull
Am here again 💪🏻😜
So if the left frontal sinus is blocked by a polyp this will effect the air filtering and cause pain dryness? Thanks
Thank you sir,,, i am a MBBS student from Bangladesh 🇧🇩🇧🇩
Best video
Is there a video on Nasal cavity?
Ultimate
Sphenoid sinus doesn't opens into the middle meatus , it opens superior and posterior to the superior turbinate, in spheno-ethmoidal recess.
What is the solution of frontal sinus and enlargement of frontal born due to sinus
7:11 Theres a huge spider on the floor!!!
Where are my sinuses? I follow the pain... 😥 Terrible pain and this time I thought I better check if Sam Webster has a video on sinuses. You do! Thank you.
Inhalation, just plain water, helps relieving the pain. Stay safe everyone.
i think u should’ve talked more about the drainage 😅🌺
+1

Teacher really I loved and appreciated you how explanation you🥺🙏 I found and followed this year oh my lucky 🎉❤I'm second yr of university😊but during your video recording I appeal for you to zooming the camera of diagrams💫
i like the video and the way you demonstrated your knowledge but the camera focusing was too bad.
That is the problem with being a one man band. Thanks though.
him: now this is the real skull
me: where did he get that
Watching this, trying to figure out what in the world this anterior nasal cavity obstruction I'm feeling. In these models, it doesnt shoe anything in the region of the anterior nasal passages. In my nose its blocked. Anteriorly to the middle turbinates. I don't know what is blocking my nose
Is it nasal polyps? Or a cyst?
Sinuses are where we store our special powers!
Why the skull bone cavities and the most basic trigonometric function have the same name?
Real question. Does anyone know?
Now I know why my forehead hurts when I have sinus problems.
Thank you so so much. 😇😇
I'm glad you liked it!
Sir I like the transverse slice model
What is it's cost
From where I can get that??
It’s good, isn’t it? We get all our anatomy models from Adam, Rouilly, and Somso.
Sam Webster
Sir I am from India
Your teaching is very nice
The model you show to teach are not there in our college
Have you any idea about how to procure the model in INDIA???
No, sorry. I'd recommend that you start by speaking to SOMSO (www.somso.de/en/anatomie/).
7:08 thats a big bug on the floor haha, running fast too!
A BIG SPIDER!😱
7:10 spot the spider
What is composition of Mucous & why it get sticky with low temprature, what substance like salt, baking soda or vinegar loose best.
they are proteins i guess
Mucin proteins and mucopolysaccharides
Did anyone see that insect walking there
Which paranasal sinus has its opening (aperture) highly than the floor?
M axillary sinuses
eyw ❤🙌
Sir i have maxiary sinusitis since long pls give me any tip .I just right side maxiary sinusitis
Sorry, there's not much I can do. Your personal doctor will be much more helpful. Good luck.
@@SamWebster are the max sinuses inside the bones or are they separated from the bones in like a pouch
@@Bunnyland35 Inside the bone.
@@SamWebster so it’s not like sinus lifts like dental procedure videos? Like little pouches in behind the bone? Idk maybe I’m looking at it wrong . Do you have any simpler models that I can look at
@@Bunnyland35 The bony sinus space is lined with mucosa. It's like a pouch of mucosa inside the bony space. In a sinus lift you want to have more bone and less space, for example to bolt dental implants into. So you need to push the mucosa away from the bone towards the centre of the sinus and then get bone to grow in the place you pushed the mucosa away from.
Why does everyone seem to have a blocked nose these days ?
Now for the best question......Tell us how to MAKE them all drain effectively during allergy season?
Try warm water with salt, some clear vinegar drops, also use soda bicarbonate with warm water, also use Grogling of throat with above. Wash under shower in mouth as to remove sticky stuff. Use of antihistamine and Telynol as per doctor advice. Blowing nose is bit tricky as air and sticky mucous RIP the skin of Septum or Vestibul of your nose. Drink lot of saline Onion soup with salt & Lemon to clear chest or throat mucous. NASONEX loosen the mucous also on counter spray helps ease allergy. Distinguish what is causing basement damping, stagnant air or hole from your old wooden roof causing allergy from mould or fungus. This is hell of job as I had 3 month rag weed allergy but open chill of area from 2 years got me struggling in winter 5 months.
@@khalid6050ify water doesn't get into sinuses, only air...
Ironic that he has a stuffy nose throughout this video.
so distracting
Those models are kinda bomb tho
3:20 is the starting..
7:10 WHAT IS THAT MOVING ON THE FLOOR?!?
Wolfy OMG 😱
Seriously saw that thing wtf is that
Where I can't see really😢😢😂
