What an extremely helpful, educational tool. I studied medicine long before the invention of UA-cam. What a fantastic teaching tool this would have been for me back then. I always struggled to picture what was happening with these sinuses. I academically knew where they were but my mind's eye didn't have an accurate 3D rendition of the layout. Marvellous video. The models make it so much easier to understand. 🎉
hello sam webster.i suffer badly 24/7 from empty nose syndrome after both my inferior turbinates where reduced 25%to 30%.some of my other symptoms are constant awfull tightness behind my nose basicly deep in middle of my face .kind of like a football with a puncture no air resistance to keep the football inflated.and awfull pain in the same regions deep in the middl of my face .i would probably say my case explains perfectly why the paranasal sinuses are important.i never had any of these problems before my turbinectomy.i just felt stuffy for about 4 weeks before my turbinectomy.i am certain all my tightness and crushing feeling in all my sinuses and head now is because some or none of the air is getting into my sinuses now to even out atmospheric air pressure.because most of the air is not directed upwards because of my reduced inferior turbinates.mainly my inferior turbinate heads.
Sir you are an artist …..thanks a lot i was struggling with ethamoid bone and sinus since last 4 years but these topics were never crystal clear thanks a lot ❤🙏🏻
Where are my sinuses? I follow the pain... 😥 Terrible pain and this time I thought I better check if Sam Webster has a video on sinuses. You do! Thank you. Inhalation, just plain water, helps relieving the pain. Stay safe everyone.
Teacher really I loved and appreciated you how explanation you🥺🙏 I found and followed this year oh my lucky 🎉❤I'm second yr of university😊but during your video recording I appeal for you to zooming the camera of diagrams💫
Watching this, trying to figure out what in the world this anterior nasal cavity obstruction I'm feeling. In these models, it doesnt shoe anything in the region of the anterior nasal passages. In my nose its blocked. Anteriorly to the middle turbinates. I don't know what is blocking my nose
@@SamWebster so it’s not like sinus lifts like dental procedure videos? Like little pouches in behind the bone? Idk maybe I’m looking at it wrong . Do you have any simpler models that I can look at
@@Bunnyland35 The bony sinus space is lined with mucosa. It's like a pouch of mucosa inside the bony space. In a sinus lift you want to have more bone and less space, for example to bolt dental implants into. So you need to push the mucosa away from the bone towards the centre of the sinus and then get bone to grow in the place you pushed the mucosa away from.
Sam Webster Sir I am from India Your teaching is very nice The model you show to teach are not there in our college Have you any idea about how to procure the model in INDIA???
I wonder how this information would affect the enthusiasm of boxers and mixed martial arts people, who likely don't realize just how...fragile their skull is in the region they are liable to take the most punishment. It might as well be made of fine china.
Try warm water with salt, some clear vinegar drops, also use soda bicarbonate with warm water, also use Grogling of throat with above. Wash under shower in mouth as to remove sticky stuff. Use of antihistamine and Telynol as per doctor advice. Blowing nose is bit tricky as air and sticky mucous RIP the skin of Septum or Vestibul of your nose. Drink lot of saline Onion soup with salt & Lemon to clear chest or throat mucous. NASONEX loosen the mucous also on counter spray helps ease allergy. Distinguish what is causing basement damping, stagnant air or hole from your old wooden roof causing allergy from mould or fungus. This is hell of job as I had 3 month rag weed allergy but open chill of area from 2 years got me struggling in winter 5 months.

What a piece of work you did, Excellent!! Superb
Thank you for this intuitive explanation

P.s: u`re great
Best Doctor everrrrrrrrrr
Thank You Sam! Very Much Appreciated!
Thank you Dr House!
Is there a video on Nasal cavity?
Sphenoid sinus doesn't opens into the middle meatus , it opens superior and posterior to the superior turbinate, in spheno-ethmoidal recess.
Sinuses are where we store our special powers!
Worthy watch, highly Academic.... kudos doctor
Great presentation…😍loved the models especially 😂
Thank you 😊
You are Genius Sam, You are my saviour❤️😭
In real anatomy you can see the bones are just the harder part of the muscles, if that makes sense. They aren't actually very separate or thick.
You are amazing man … Thank you ❤
Anatomical question : can sinus pain cause a pain in the front cheek ?
Thanks
i think u should’ve talked more about the drainage 😅🌺
+1

Real question. Does anyone know?
i like the video and the way you demonstrated your knowledge but the camera focusing was too bad.
That is the problem with being a one man band. Thanks though.
