Designer, Jean R Farish Needleworks has several samplers using Cosmo that I have enjoyed stitching. Glad you are feeling better Karen and getting a vacation together. Karen darling, as you know I’ve done my meniscus as well, when you’re in the airports book a wheelchair or transport to and from the gates, there’s so much walking in those bloody airports, you’ll just make it so sore for the rest of your trip. You’ll get prioritised as well.

Our trip to the PNW in May was going to include a couple of days in SF when we were originally going for 3 weeks. It’s now only going to be 2 weeks as we have to be back by the end of May for a Retreat we are teaching at. So we are not sure if we will be in SF now but if we are we will let you know☺️💕

Don't worry about knee replacement.... my older sister was bone on bone with both knees for quite awhile. She finally got knee replacement and she is so glad she did (she was about 55). She said her knees feel so much better. A good friend of mine had knee replacement at about 70 and she was so glad she did. Wished she had done it earlier!
This is all wonderful to hear. I’m sure a knee replacement with probably be needed in the next year.

Well, the Native Americans in the Pacific Northwest also have wonderful art that is different from the Southwest. A few years ago, I bought a couple of patterns based on artwork reflective of the natives in the area. Looking forward to hearing about your adventures in America!!!

So happy to see you and Brendon back, you were both missed! Sorry that you had issues with the first surgery and hoping that this one will give you much desired refief from pain. I love everything that you have shown, I wish that I was much younger, so that I could indulge in at least 10 of the shown patterns (if not more, lol).
Oh my goodness, we are truly sisters, although I am old enough to be your mother, lol. I love J.R.Tolkein and the Lord of the Rings, and am getting ready to reread the books(real books) and then rewatch the videos!! I do this about every 2 years, I always find something that I forgot about or something new, just love Lord of the Rings. Julie, KC Girl in CO world is the one of the best!.
Watching flosstubes for me is almost a full-time-job, I have so many that I just love to listen to while I am stitching. It is like being with friends and visiting. Have a wonderful vacation to the Pacific NW, Bendon have a wonderful Big Foot Search. Will be waiting to hear all about this vacation from the both of you. I also re read them every few years Mary but this time I’m going to listen to the audio book as it’s narrated by Andy Serkis (who plays Gollum) Bren listened to them and said he does a fantastic job. Just a thought ❤️

I'm the "watch in multiple sessions" camp. I know you will enjoy your trip to the Pacific Northwest. It is still a little on the cool side especially at night, but we have had a few sunny days. Good daffodil weather. Hope to see you at Acorns. I don't get up there often but might try to make a pilgrimage when you are there.

Karen, I just went through the same thing. Had a root meniscus tear. Repaired, brace, therapy still not right. Cortisone ×2, gel x3 and 2 MRIs later found out I was bone on bone. So then a knee replacement. I'm an RN so I had to leave my position. Finally working again after 2 and a half years. When you announced you had a root tear I cringed because I knew it was going to be a long road. I ended up depressed, anxious and in therapy. Now things are so much better. Therapy and a med adjustment really helped. So please if you feel yourself getting down and are having a hard time functioning. Get help. You will get through it. Thank God you have such a loving hubby. I don't know what I would have done without mine.

What a bummer about your knee. I can't imagine how you would be able to function without any cartilage in your knee. At least you can still stitch and design! Take care.

I fought knee pain for years and finally had it replaced in November. It was hard, it hurt a ton but so worth it - no more pain! Don’t wait too long, it makes it harder to recover.

Sorry to hear about your knee. I had a partial knee replacement. Changed my life. About 6 month recovery and then back to a new normal. So dive in to get rid of the pain and get back to moving! Best wishes.

So sorry you are struggling with your knee. Been there! Im about your age and had to have knee replacements last yr. Im one yr out from the first and 5 months out from the second. Everyone’s experience is unique however it was not anywhere as bad as I had imagined and I feel so amazing now I’m so so happy I did it! I was feeling so much better at 2 months out than I was was preop . I am sure you will be the same. Youve got this!! If you want to be active I’m sure you will be really happy you take the leap and do it once you have recovered from these procedures !! ❤❤

I only stitch on Permin linen as the feel helps me stitch in hand with my tension. I like the heavier feel of Permin. Honestly, I'm hoping that the Permin retains some of it's "stiffness" as I need that. So freaking excited to get hand dyed Permin!!!! Love your channel. So glad a friend told me about you! I really need some of that 32 count. I'll happily test stitch on it (wink wink). That's all I use. Hugs from NE Ohio.

So sorry to hear about your knee problems. I fought knee pain using shots for 10 years dreading the knee replacement. I finally bit the bullet when the shots stop giving relief. It’s been 3 years and I wish I’d done the replacement 10 years ago. My quality of life is so improved so please don’t put it off to long. Hugs to you and Bren❤❤

I completely understand about the knee issues. I currently am getting cortisone shots about every 3-4 months for my left knee. The dr has finally agreed to the knee replacement- now I just have to lose some weight before he will do it but I am so ready. Being I no pain and not being able to move around is a giant pain in the rear. Brendan hope you get some rest soon. Karen will be back to par soon and will help you out.

I had arthroscopic knee surgery 18 years ago. My surgeon said my knee would eventually have to be replaced because the meniscus is now really thin. Before my surgery I walked 3 miles every day. Now I avoid most walking but in doing so I have avoided having the knee replaced! I'm 74 and hope to avoid that surgery completely. Also, I live in Oregon, so have a fun visit to our state.

Never thought this would happen! But as I read the other comments I decided to schedule my knee replacement surgery! I’ve had the gel shots etc and was being a “ chicken” about it…..all the good reviews and “ wished I had done it sooner” remarks helped me decide! Enjoyed your flosstube and glad to see you both again….just never thought I get my medical advice from a flosstube!
I know how you feel. I am so glad you have decided to go through with it. Along with the comments here plus what I have heard from friends who have had knee replacements, I am yet to hear of anything other than positive results. Please keep us posted☺️
Oh I will! We busy ladies have to take care of ourselves if we want to keep traveling and seeing our friends.
We have a doctor here, in Reno, who is replacing the miniscus, with little cushions. He finds this easier to recover from rhan a knee replacement.

I had the same surgery on my left knee, twice, and now I get a yearly shot, or when needed, of a lubricant ( not cortisone) my doctor affectionately calls “jiffy lube.” (An American thing). If your doctor doesn’t know about it, I can ask my doctor exactly what it is called. I now have no problem whatsoever with that knee. I can do anything and everything now. Nothing is much worse than being limited in what you can do. Let me know if you need more information. Kathie. (USA)

So happy to see you up and about a bit, Karen! I had back surgery a few years back and was unable to walk for a couple of months before and after. It is really difficult to be out of commission. Bren has my sympathy as well for dying his fingers to the bone; but how dearly I love my new Seaweed and Desert Taipan linen!! My husband was so amazing running the house while working full time when I was down for the count so you two have been on my heart! Be well!

I am 64, my knees were bone with bone due to my artrose and excess of weight (almost 150 kg). I did knee replacement on both and never regretted. I now have no pain at all and walk daily 10 km and sometimes on a weekend do a walking event of 18 km. Best thing ever! 7 years later, 2 new knees and with 80 kg, I am a happy lady without pain.
This is wonderful to hear. It makes me less anxious about a possible knee replacement know how well you are doing 💕

It is good to see you back, you are doing well after your surgeries Karen. My hubby and I briefly saw you at Crewel Gobelin the other Friday which was a nice surprise. As I told you then, my mother in law had both her knees done in her 80’s and found it wonderful so if it comes to having to go there for you, it will make a big difference. Hope it all mends so well that you don’t have to have it though. And no, the photo here doesn’t look like the woman with a walker you spoke to, it is years old lol.

Please don't be afraid of knee replacement. I was bone on bone on my left knee. I was in agony. The only solution was knee replacement. Mine was in 2018. It was the best thing I could have ever done. I have no pain whatsoever and can do everything I used to do. The main thing is you have to do the physical therapy. I knew several people that had a knee replacement. They all said the same thing. I took their advice and did the six weeks of PT. I never had a bit of problem. I am 100%.
That is so wonderful to hear. Friends who have had k we replacements have told me the same thing about PT. A knee replacement is in the not too distant future for me I think💕 Your words of encouragement make me feel a lot better about it.
