Wow! The plantings at the Community College are spectacular! My first thought was that the person caring for them was doing a great job, especially with the extreme heat you’ve had for so long and the winds. So glad we got a glimpse of Rosa. I hope her employer appreciates her dedication. It will be nice if you get to do this every year. It was a huge undertaking and you succeeded in creating a campus of beauty. Great job as always, Laura. You got an A+ on this one.
Laura, I found a honeybee in my garden today! This has been years in the making, learning about plants from your videos, slowly (in a smaller space and with a smaller budget) trialling plants in a totally different climate to you. I have some gorgeous salvia, zinnia and angelonia growing up beautifully, all inspired by you and while the sunbirds and butterflies have been enjoying this for a while, it was a thrill to see a honeybee for the first time today! Thanks for your information, inspiration and all around positivity!
Yes, this seems to be a good year for honey bees, and I've never had so many butterflies and hummingbirds! I planted a lot of zinnias this year and they pollinators love them! Enjoy your day, Rebekah!
I agree! After watching Laura and learning about this channel, I am choosing plants that attract pollinators and I can't believe the amount of honeybees I see everyday! So happy that I am giving some bees what they need.
I think my favorite part of this entire video is while Laura’s in the baseball area. She made the days brighter not only for the students but for the lady who maintained them. You could tell she loved and cared for all the plants! She did a great job and I’m sure she’s hoping you plant up the campus next year! Garden Answer Spreading joy one to many plants at a time!
You have really changed my mine about just using perennials! I always thought annuals were a waste of money but now I get it. The beautiful colors are well worth it. Great job at the college to you and the groundskeeper!
I’ve never been able to justify $ spent on annuals. Now I’m going to watch this extravaganza of annuals again w pencil and paper in hand so I’ll be ready next Spring. I finally get it. Wow
A lot of annuals can be started from seed, which is a cheap way to plug color into your beds. Jim Putnam at Hortube has a great series of videos where he goes plant by plant in his landscape; it really shows how annual started from seeds or six packs can fill in beautifully.
Serially, me too. I never buy annuals, im always thinking what a waste it is to just they're them away. Im definitely adding a chunk to my spring budget for all summer color this next summer
In the words of our favorite little helper, "They all GROW-ed up!" 😂 ❤️ Wow! Everything turned out so glorious! Rosa is definitely putting in some work. 👌 👍 👏

This community garden has hands down the most spectacular stunning garden display I have ever seen 😍🌹🌷❤️ and trust me I have traveled a LOT they must be so appreciative of all of yours and Aaron's hard work putting it all together luckiest community college EVER 😁👍😍💜❤️💜❤️
I’m on a road trip from Washington, DC and was driving from Portland to Salt Lake City this past weekend. As I was making my way down the interstate, I noticed a sign for Treasure Valley Community College and couldn’t figure out why it sounded so familiar. Then I realized where I was and it clicked! Eastern Oregon! So I pulled off to take a tour of the campus as the sun was setting. It was like being on the set of my favorite TV show! I couldn’t believe just how glorious (and huge!) these plants were. Absolutely spectacular! As I was walking back to my car, I noticed the splash pad across the street - so I took it as a sign to take a full Garden Answer tour. A walk downtown to see the pots and window shopping at your parents’ garden center. Such an exciting and unexpected highlight on my 4 month cross country trip. Your local and online communities are so lucky to have you, Laura. Thanks for bringing so much cheer into the world!
WOW WOW your planting and Rosa's maintenance has made the college look amazing and inviting! I bet when your brother comes to work he thinks of his sister Laura. Its amazing to see how well all the beds and containers have faired this summer and thank you for giving the plant names again.
Yay Rosa! It's so great that she took such good care of those plants so we really got to see your design come to life! Everything came out beautiful, the combination of Truffula Pink gomphrena and that lime green sweet potato vine is just spectacular!
Wow, Laura, you definitely cause me to envy your hot, dry climate. Here in NH we get so much rain that keeping annuals healthy looking is quite the challenge. I am enjoying having planted so much more than I ever did. You have so inspired me to not hesitate to try new things! I'm already seeing in my mind's eye a nice "drift" of hydrangeas that I'm propagating in a rather drab area of my yard. My neighbors do think I'm nuts for creating more work for myself but I truly can't help it when I've watched you create such beauty and that takes hard work, doesn't it? Thank you for your channel...I love starting my day with you!
@bettywilmot 👋 I’m in NH too! ( near Dartmouth College) My grounds were certainly inspired by Laura this year too. Isn’t it amazing how huge her plantings get with that hot dry climate? Wish I could grow the sweet potato vine, the Japanese beetles 🪲 take over! I encourage you to put in the hydrangeas, it is not work if you enjoy it!!
@@kellyhawes8901 Kelly, are you in Dartmouth NH? It's so beautiful there! I think you must have a much shorter growing season, right? That's another thing about Oregon....it seems it goes on forever! Isn't it great hooking up with so many gardening addicts??
@@bettywilmot7627 yes! We are just outside Hanover where Dartmouth is. It is a shorter growing season, so I try to make the most of it, planting late may. It would be great to have a season that you could plant twice!

Will you be receiving recognition from your community for beautifying the whole town? 🏆 SO awesome that you get to do that! I’d love to live in a garden town done by you!
What a spectacular way to start my day! Oh my, the flower beds and containers are all so beautiful. Your joy of the plantings and the performance is palatable. Thanks!
Absolutely vibrant and uplifting, how lovely to be studying/ teaching there to be surrounded with all the beautiful greenery/ blooms. Stunning work Laura, Aaron & Rosa with the maintenance.
LOVED seeing this follow up and how you walked through the reactions of them, sunlight each area got, etc - helps so much when planning my own beds and pots for next year!
That looked amazingly gorgeous flowers scheme, what a success Laura. If I was attending this college, I would imagine myself spending most of time outside the college than in the classes.
☕️Good morning Laura and all lovely garden friends. Big thunderstorm here in Southeast Michigan left much needed rain, now the heat returns. What a beautiful display of flowers and grass to highlight the college entrance. A spectacular outcome as always when done by Laura and Team! Have a great day everyone 🌸🌼🌺💚
Wow! So amazing! The plants all did so well. It really gets the gears turning for next year. Yep, writing down the names of some of these awesome plants.
The planters are totally gorgeous and wow, look how much one plant can grow and fill up an area. That’s a real lesson for those trying to work within a budget. Great work Laura and Aaron.
Laura , I have to say you and your family are a tremendous valuable asset to the town and school. I'd bet my bottom dollar ,the school double the budget for next year.
Wow, unbelievable how everything has changed in just a couple of weeks. Loving the purple fountain grass, it’s my fav😄 and all those colors..so beautiful.
The students are starting their day in a wonderful mood. How can you be grumpy with all the beauty around. Thank you both for the tour and your hard work.
Everything is looking so beautiful!! Great job to Rosa for maintaining all of it! I have to say that I just love the warm color groupings that you chose which is not typical for my taste. 🌾🌹🌼 I’d love to see an update on your church plantings that you did a couple of years ago. It’s so fun to see the huge impact of all the annuals but I’m also interested to see how the more permanent plantings are behaving years after initial planting.
Wow! So beautiful. I am amazed how well the plants filled in and weathered the heat. We had similar weather and understand the struggle. I just love how you blessed the community. I remember how you gracefully mentioned the fee didn’t balance with the work but this was still worth taking on. The community needs these moments more than ever. May you be blessed in return.

Wow what a difference between the waterpark and the college. The color combinations of the college are stunning and inspire the beginning Gardner. Thank you
What a great video to start my day with!! You did an amazing job Laura, and I can certainly see the importance now of mixing annuals with perennials. 🥰🌺 Thank you for sharing your knowledge and passion for gardening. Have a wonderful day!
Thank you Laura and Aaron for creating this series of videos. I really appreciate all of the public gardening videos the two of you put together. I retired this year and plan to do a lot more public gardening including seasonal displays in the large pots at my local library, and installing a garden at our local play park. I love that you were both so civic minded and really appreciate your desire to make public spaces look beautiful. This seems to be a niche section of gardening that is hard to find on UA-cam and the other socials. I’m determined to beautify my neighborhood with flowers and there’s so much opportunity. I hope others will share their experiences with public gardening.
WOW! What outrageous success despite , heat, wind & downpours! I have made my plant list for next year and am taking it to my local garden centers and hope it makes a difference. It is so disappointing not finding the Proven Winners I want. I drove up to 40 miles away in a circle around my house and was thrilled to find bubblegum pink, fuchsia & silverberry. They have been amazing.
I have been / still searching for the " Denim and Lace Russian Sage . None found in my garden enters but , I was told they were sold out in Missouri . I was looking so forward to using this as my "drift " too Laura . I spent my last $ on the new 2021 Hydrangeas . They're not yet in the ground but, they will be ❗. I'm m just trying to find a way to get the mulch I need here . I just can't wait 🏡.

Oh my goodness! You have done it again. What an amazing view from all over the campus. You are so inspiring to me and these plants are just beautiful. I'm still working on my garden and I certainly going to get more salvia and fountain grass. Thank you so much for your passion because it has inspired me to do what make me happy and that's planting the flowers that you show us everyday is such a treat. God bless you!
You do great in landscaping planting too! Good job! I like it when you do gardening out of your garden.. You are a lil more brave to use other plants at other garden.
Knowing that your project in your community college is doing well because it was given the attention that it needs and it deserves, makes me happy. I mean, i know that some of the projects you did outside your garden or in your town was kind of neglected, so it's a waste of time and effort. But this one is clearly a success and gorgeous! Are you gonna plant at the college next year? Well looking forward to that! 'cause it sure is gonna be beautiful again!❤️🙏 Good morning everyone!😊

This turned out amazing! You guys did a great job with plant choice and planting and yay to the staff for taking good care of them. The colors are 👌
I was in Ontario over the last weekend and made it a point to drive by TVCC so I could see the planting in person. It looks amazing and was so fun to see in person. You do a great job! Thanks for taking us all along and sharing 🥰
Awesome!
My goodness that is just the BEST! Teachers and students are so blessed to have GORGEOUS gardens and planters ❤️🌼🌺🌲🥀 LOVE IT !!!
Beautiful College Flower tour!!! Stunning results. Great job.. Thanks for the share. Enjoy your day all!
How wonderful when there is a sense for beautiful things . Climate can be even ideal, if people have no idea in a head, then it is pity.
I think cannas are so beautiful and I would love to see a deeper dive on them as I know very little of their care -like over wintering etc
BLOOMING BEAUTIFUL! Each bed is its own oasis. It's all perfect, Laura 🏳️🌈🇬🇧🏴❤️

Laura, you are amazing! I watched you plant these and I thought the planting was a little scant.😆 How absolutely full and lush! Just GORGEOUS color and composition!😵😍🥰🤩 I am totally and completely fan girling! 🥰🥰🥰🤣
Beautiful combos. You did a fantastic job designing these garden and planters. So happy they were so well cared for. I’m sure they were enjoyed by all!
Wow!!! So beautiful!! Handclap to Rosa for taking good care of the plants!!❤️
Hi Laura and Aaron! Rosa and Joe, too! LOL! All of the areas are looking so pretty! Rosa is doing a wonderful job keeping everything happy. Thank you for sharing!
Beautiful addition to the local college, the students and staff are blessed with beauty on their campus thanks to you and the crew caring for the planters. Great impact. Hope they continue the plantings for future years.
Loved watching this project from start to finish! The high impact plants are fantastic.
So glorious! Glad you did these videos as it can inspire many of us to make beautiful container gardens. Thanks for the follow ups.
Thank you for a fantastic follow up video! You guys did a beautiful job. I’m sure everyone who has been on campus has enjoyed it so much. Bravo!
Love the bright green sweet potato vine with all the purple flowers...they look so good together! ❤️🌻☀️🐝
One of the tours I look forward to after you started planting them! They all Turned out pretty well. What a show! 🌺🌸🌼💮🌻🌳
You can tell Rosa did a great job taking care of everything🍁🌻
I am so beyond impressed with how well the college maintained those considering the conditions there this summer. Gorgeous.
Laura i stumbled across your channel when i was trying to find a video on starting a formal garden. It took that first video for me to become hooked and now my whole family watches every video!! We have just gone into our second ever lockdown here in New Zealand so i have spent the last week binge watching your videos, i adore your charm and especially love episodes with your sweet mum in them! All the best x
Thanks for explaining the difference between annuals and perennials! I have a lot of perennials in my flower bed and I keep wanting a bigger impact. I'll probably move some of those to put in more annuals next year.
The growth of flower plants is fertile and beautiful flowers. The flower beds are pleasing to the eye. It's great to see this great video.
Good morning! 🌻🐝
Everything is beautiful. Thank you for giving us a tour.
Absolutely beautiful gardens and containers. You have such a great eye for design. Yeah Rosa she found her Zen. TFS
Enjoyed seeing Rosa. She is doing a great job maintaining all those lovely plants.
