Man I loved that era of football...
Cracking guest lads
So glad under the cosh is back..in hospital at the minute and this cheered me up
Sorry to hear mate, hope you're ok 💪💪
Hope you’re feeling better soon! All the best!
Get better soon fella...Make sure u keep any fit nurses on their toes...lol...😂😂🫣😍
Be well! And come back stronger 💪
Hope all is well mate
Just listened to Part 2. Might be my favourite episode so far. Slightly bias as I’m a red but Jason didn’t hold back and that’s all you want from a guest. Some great stories and the fact that he gave you lads nearly 3 hours of his time is credit to the three of you.
Can’t get the image out of my head of Keane hearing everyone laughing as he walked out of that meeting 😅
Loving the pod as usual lads!
Remember watching Jason McAteer scoring a mis-kick in a play off semi final against my team Wolves back in the early 90s to score the only away goal of the tie and keep Bolton in the game ready for the 2nd leg at Burnden Park, same game Peter Shilton was playing and must have been 41 years old at the time and I was thinking god he is old(im now 41) But what a cracking player Jason McAteer was always rated him highly.
I was at the return leg at burden miss that ground great days
Shilton was 45 when he featured in that game.
If it wasn’t for him you’d have been out of sight, he rolled back the years.
@@Ben-n7l i went to the away game at Burnden Park, had a day off school to go so double bonus, remember who ever had a corner you couldn't see as the supermarket in the corner of the ground blocked the view🤣🤣 great old school stadium, im glad i experienced some of those grounds as there all souless now days.
@@JJsDancingFeet2 remember him playing well, saved loads of shots, great to see a England legend from one of the italia 90 squad as that's my first memory of football.
Really shocked, never thought Razor would lie about a story…
Unfortunately they all do it. Lots of Harry Redknapps stories have been twisted or not even true
Ah cmon lads it’s the same everywhere and heh it’s entertainment
One of my idols growing up, had 4 McAteer on the back of my Liverpool shirt!
Nice to have ye back, looking forward to listening to this in the morning
Get on the Patreon it’s worth it!!
Been the best football podcast for years.
Really good podcast - think I've watchd every one so far - keep it up - I like the stories that go on behind the scenes
All is right in the world. Under the cosh is back.
Back with a bang.
Blinding episode that boys 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I genuinely prefer Under The Cosh to Stick to Football. I've heard the Class of 92 stories a million times. Now, I knew a bit about McAteer already because of Simon Hughes' Liverpool books. But this was very good anyway, some good details, especially about the passport! In short, keep doing what you're doing. It's great!
Most of us here I'd imagine rather under the cosh too
This is the best of the lot guys. How entertaining was he.
Gotta say this has turned into a top show fellas. The guests all know they better get the best stories out
Great to have you back- wanted to show my appreciation so subscribed to your Patreon 😊
Thanks again guys. Missed you.
One of the best podcasts about lads! Come to Tenerife and do one 😂🍻
Can't wait for part 2!
Quick guest recommendation lads, Henri Lansbury would be quality!
Great to have you guys back - unbelievable episode 😂😂
The pie shop is still there - great pies!
"A Tony Carberry?" hahahaha sounds like a place where Baldy would have his head shaved!!!
Great one this, can't wait for part 2 🔥
Eagerly awaiting part 2 and regards keano .....top player in his bolton days and at poor Liverpool team .
Brilliant lads can't wait to listen to this one!
The best footie podcast going
“Jimmy White, one hundred and eighty!”
Thank you for the goal agaisnt Holland
Definitely Mint sauce and Horse Radish in a Tony Carbery 😂
Sound fella. Great stories from the Ireland days
I was a yt at bwfc when Jason was there great lad brilliant player
Brilliant return
I've met Jason McAteer at a Liverpool night in Belfast, and he's genuinely a class fella.
Glory hunter
@@ryandawson857melt
Did he bum you?
No, he nicked is shampoo. Lol.
Yeah sound lad
Keep the episodes coming lads !👍
I was in sea world that summer and bumped into the squad. Got a picture somewhere with the whole squad.. my nan told jackie Charlton off for having a cigar on the picture. Felt ashamed haha
Brilliant story teller
Quality episode
Great podcast, good work lads
Funny, top episode. Thanks.
Brilliant pod
Good to see Dan from Nottingham getting a presenting gig
Wouldn’t believe the Pizza statement. McAteer actually confessed in 2005 that it was him who said it,so I don’t know why he now says it was David Burrows.
Fuckin Tony Carberry!!!...lol...😂😂😂🙈🙈🙈 Absolutely Quality lads...👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
County Down is in Northern Ireland. God help Triggers Masters! 😀
Its Ireland
@@niallglennon83jeez mate this isn't politics
Down isn't a county you can get an Irish passport from if you're English
He's just trying to explain why this couldn't be possible , then ye have this idiot niall who can't help point out the obvious
Niall , shouldn't ye down south battering immigrants?
I'm only 42, classic Parky
The Reading vs Bolton game wasn't the best as a Reading fan. That was my 21st birthday. I remember when the penalty was saved and suddenly the Bolton fans woke up and I thought, shit we're in trouble here
Finally back
Great stuff, never a fan of Jason but came across well
Best Money Ive Spent going Patreon 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Top class.
We need Tony Carberry t shirts 😂
County Down, surely that's Northern Ireland 😂
if from n ireland you have choice of british or irish passport
@@petermcateer280 yes mate but not in regards to football.
You have to have a grandparent at least to have been born in ireland
Jason got his counties confused
Any part of Ireland qualifies you to play for Ireland 🇮🇪
Brilliant Lads 🤣🤣💥💥🔥🔥❤️❤️
an unassuming legend of the game.
jason used to come to a club i had to vet "who came in" back in liverpool, although some other players i won't mention had a bit of attitude jason was always so polite and a complete gent.with it being strict i told him to stop asking in the end and told him he was all day in there, never any trouble and a really nice chap
Fowler, ruddock and collymore have the attitude?
@@TokyoJoe703no was right through school with robbie,me and him played up front for nugent high.he's from toxteth like me rob, hung around with his cousins and him when we were nippers good lad.i won't really mention mate but it was a liverpool hero like, just couldn't take to him and most other lads on the other club couldn't.mcateer on the other hand was nothing but a nice lad, used to get them all in there, kuyt(he was ok)lee trundle(really nice lad)
Tony carvery did me 😂😂
John Barnes was England's first 10k a week wage in 87 and 8 years later mcateer thinks he was on more than Barnes on 15k ?🤣🤣🤣
Erm… wages are public knowledge and can be viewed by anyone 🤣
@@Cyber277CDPR go check them then ,but I can tell you mcateer was not on more than Barnes
Sounds about right with premier league inflation
Hes not thick it was all an act the greatest trick jason sozè ever pulled.....thick as fuck
County Down is in northern Ireland
So basically jason played for ireland because his surname was McAteer
Class 😂😂
Next week. FIFA expunge Mcateers international record
Why does it skip on some of his stores to another part?
Serial liars get cold feet when it comes to getting a potential libel case against them.
Especially when you have the brain of a Trigger.
That position at club killed me 😂😂😂 right back 👏🏻
Is that Jon Parkin? It’s good to see he has maintained his playing weight…….😂😂😂😂😂😂
Why did you cut Jack Charlton story 😊
Link for the additional “content”
Yeah, those were incredible days for Irish football.
Funnily, I don't think we appreciated the quality in that squad at the time.
Maybe it was the style of play but as individual players they were all top players
Especially the English contingent
Does he talk about the Head & Shoulders advert? 😅
Seen Stubbsy on another podcast with Barry off Toffee TV & he said it worked out for him just fine as he won the league with Celtic but told the exact same story but from him his perspective. Worth a watch👊
He’s not Scouse he’s from Birkenhead
SWA
Ive fucking missed brownys nose, it’s a bloody belter !
?
It's got it's own postcode!
Tony carbery 😂😂😂😂😂
Brilliant episode! But what the hell are those green trainers about, they are worse than the spice boys white suits
The pizza being cut into 4 because ‘I couldn’t eat 8’ was one of Dougal’s lines from Father Ted
Jan molby told all these about Ian Rush at a cricket club dinner the ice and pizza and ruddock told exact same stories about Mcateer one was obviously talkjing rubbish
He Pissed me off putting that rebound in when Robbie Fowler missed his pen on purpose against David seaman at Highbury in 1996/97 we lost 2.1 because of that
Macca smelled the goal bonus!
@@TheLastAngryMan01 pmsl 🤣
Fecking love this pod. Good work fellas 👊🏼...you're not fooking maturing BTW...just saying, and don't bleeding change 🤣
Tony Carbury? I'm sure his Grandad was from County Leitrim? 😂
Argentina 2006 against Germany enters the chat 😮
Where’s the trainers from browny?
Clae mate 🤝
@@undrthecosh The ones in the intro?
@@scottmoffatt5754 ah no sorry, from arne clo

Hahaha stuff on the Wirral hahahaha
Parky becoming a chef, typical Barnsley, cut out the middle man.
Welcome back.
Origami.
Top man
Great episode so far but that Take That story sounds like complete bollocks! 😂
Hilarious 😂
I've missed listening to Lee Majors, Carl Pilkington and Edmund Blackadder.........
Jason is 52.... Crazy
Hair transplant and botox.
@@bigbernie7260Head and Shoulders.
@@TheLastAngryMan01
Head and shoulders on what his syrup transplant.
Another lie I showed him a picture on my phone of him blanking me 2 years later lol. This guy
Breakfasts sound first class
Podcast was decent as well
When you guys gonna go to mainland Europe for game again like krakow. Go to Warsaw or Dresden
Cumin, oregano, chilli flakes, basil, thyme. We’ve got the new spice boys 😂
Walked in to a Liverpool dressing room full of league winners?? He must have went for a visit a few years before he signed then😂😂😂😂😂 his nose must be so long now 😂😂
Ian Rush and John Barnes?
Nice one lads ..
Don't worry Jason lad i say some barmy stuff as well mate. 🙂
Mental that practically every player in the Irish squad he mentioned aren’t even Irish! 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
You gotta get Stubsy on now so we can hear how Macca ruined his career. Its only fair lol
Possibly saved his life not getting that move.
90's were the best for football, certainly as a Barnsley fan. You dont get characters in football these days, not like the kind we had back then.
Daz has been around since the 50s lad so I think it was in the 80s
Talk about love himself.
Get frazer campbell on
When they start sharing the stories you realise he is actually that Thick 😂😂😂
Belter of an episode
