    Terrific. But the Stokes law equation might need more explanation. Speed is inversely proportional to Radius since higher radius produces more drag. But....on the other hand higher radius multiplied by density means higher weight, which increases speed. Thanks

      Hi Greg,
      The tubes are something we had custom created. It's a popular and useful item and we hope to have more in stock in the near future!

      ParksonCorporation great! I would absolutely love one of these as a coagulant/polymer sales rep! It would be so helpful for explaining this principle to customers and anyone else! Lamella plates are so simple yet so amazing!

    So stoke's law works when we assume that all the present particles are relatively round, is there a way to give each different shape a modifying constant to find the settling velocity for say a flake or cubic particle?

    • @ParksonCorporation
      @ParksonCorporation  4 роки тому +3

      Hi David,
      There are articles online that discuss form factors or shape factors that can be used to adjust settling velocity calculations. However, as with most calculation of this type, results are theoretical as each parameter in the formula is an estimate. Here at Parkson we take a simpler approach, which is to do simple settling tests to confirm performance of a particular application if is something we may have not done before.
