Hey... this channel is a hidden gem. Great tips, instant sub ! (ended up making a hybrid of the 2 semitone drop and the L/R layering, because why not).

Yes! A hybrid is awesome. Nice one. Thanks so much for the sub. Welcome to the family 😊

    The Haas effect!
The equivalent for Cubase users is the Stereo Delay effect. Load it into a channel insert, deselect the sync button from the left and right stereo banks, and, as Becky said, keep each channel under 40ms. You can also do it from the channel inspector. It's also a great way to add width and clarity to a bassline while separating it from your sub bass.
    Keep bringing that 🔥

Legend! I believe there's a similar plugin im Logic too, which made it super easy to achieve. Thanks for commenting your knowledge and sharing it. 😄

Nice tut! I also slice the attack of clap samples and duplicate them to create a slight stutter- Sounds mad when it's sitting right with the tempo. Like the tone adjustment tip, not only does it make the clap sample more harmonically rich but in doing so you area also bringing them ever so slightly out of phase making it sound wide and more human! More on how to make your tunes sound full wide and 4D please x

That's a really interesting idea and not one that I've done before. Definitely going to try that out. Making a note for tutorials on how to make things wider. I've been thinking about doing some width videos. Thanks for the comment. Lovely to have you here. 😊

Should you always add a snare to layer, or is the clap alone good enough to drive the drum section.

Hey Shawn oh yeah it's totally up to you and how you want your track to sound and feel. Some people use alternative percs in the place of a snare. Wood percs are great.

Should you always layer a snare on a clap, or can you ride a clap solo and still have a strong drum section? This video is awesome by the way and thank you.

Oh I think it's totally up to you what you want to do. Some people just use claps and wood blocks in places of snares. It's entirely up to you. Thanks for the comment 😊 glad you like the video

Thanks for the video Bex, love your content! Can I ask what is the best way to record my own claps?????

I would say the best way to record claps would be to get an omnidirectional microphone and get a bunch of friends to all stand around it and clap at the same time. If it's just you and a mic, set it to cardiod and record in mono. Record multiple takes and then follow the techniques in the video to layer them over the top of each other. Have fun!
