During this time there's nothing better than going back to the EIGHTIES. Best decade
Just a young pup back then and it makes me tear up thinking how carefree it was then compared to this mess we're in now.
I was terrified the Russians would nuke us in the 80's
By far the best. If only we can turn back the time.
@@hawaiianpunch6534 I think you may be forgetting certain fashion and hairstyle trends ...
I'd love to go back and just live in the 80s decade on a loop. Best times of my life and youth. Primary and high school years :)
I'm 66 and the eighties are my decade. These songs bring back so many wonderful and exciting memories. I love all eras and types of music but 80s pop will forever reign in my heart.
I agree, I’m 60, but the 80’s in my twenties were the best times of my life!
The saxophone was a big part of the soundtrack of the first half of the 1980s.
1983 I was serving in the military. Such memories.
I was a teenager back in the 80s , this was the slow dance at the disco's and party's . Cool tune .
Even though I was a hard rock/metal guy, this song was the jam!
I wish I was a teenager or in my 20s in the 80 s.
@Suzie.q Popcorn123 Thank you so much and I will check them out!
@Suzie.q Popcorn123 I will let you know!
naturegirl2110 - it was awesome. Lot of fun, less crime and no Lo-Jack (the cellphone)
I miss the tenderness, sophistication and calmness that certain 80's music transmitted to me. It's a quality of sound that sure certainly shouldn't stopped being produced.
Wow....beautiful.........!!!!!
I wish I could go back to the decade when this song came out. I love the 1980s along with the music.
Me too I miss the 80s so much! I need to get myself a delorean lol 😂
I at least want the cars and manual transmissions along with the music.
Great song! The "New Romantic" Era, as it was called back then. When this group did this song at Live Aid in London on July 13, 1985, EVERYBODY in the audience sang along!
"This is the sound of my ..." teenaged years! Duran Duran were my idols then but I loved all British music in various genres during the 80s.
My favorite 80's Band! I was in love with Tony Hadley the lead singer. Saw him solo live back in 2011 and got his autograph and a kiss on the cheek!!
I have to say , even thought the great 80’s had rap, Rock, Funk, New Wave, Dance, Smooth Jazz, cool Country , Reggae, and more , now that I’m older 30 years later, it’s the ballads that I feel nostalgic about the most , and are my favorites from the decade. And this is definitely one of them!
More 80s soft rock hits:

Roxy Music - More Than This

Just copied this !excellent tunes! Hope you don't mind :)
@@julietphillips7420 - Not all! Enjoy! 😀
Taylor Dayne - Tell It To My Heart 🎧
Probably the most underrated song of the 80’s.
I'll take "Through the Barricades" as more underrated, this one was a big hit.
This was a huge hit worldwide.
I bought the single in 1983. Timeless classic.
The Psychedelic Furs - “Love My Way”
Oh yes, such a great song
Fantastic band to see live
Still one of my all-time favorite songs ever since hearing it in 1982' movie valley girl
@Jp T Yes for sure. I’m only 35 and I got to see them with my father a couple years ago and it was just so special to see one of my dads favorites that he got to pass it down to me when I was young, together.
Yes and President Gas!!!
I can't listen to this without thinking of Steve Buscemi in The Wedding Singer 😂
I suspect the unsuspecting might look back at Spandau's earlier singles with slight alarm, given that they were almost a synth-pop group at the outset. Labelled under 'New Romantics', they're saved by songwriting and the undeniable strength of Tony Hadley's vocals. This was a UK chart-topper when I was 10 - and I don't know whether to celebrate change or denounce it.
Man, the 80's were SOOO GREAT!! The 70's were the best for classic rock, but in the 80's there was so much variety and so many GREAT DANCE SONGS. I'm so glad I was in the clubs to be there as it all unfolded.
That's what always say, every decades has fantastic songs BUT 80s was on another level, the varieties, many super stars of 60s, 70s became legends e g rolling stone, Aretha Franklin, some stars became super stars such as Tina Turner, Elton John, and many stars were born such as Whitney Houston, George Micheal no matter your taste there was something for you; life was even much more simpler. Best decade of music!
@@elizabethtimothy4776 I've watched A LOT of these reaction videos, and I CONSTANTLY see young and middle age people(who weren't into that kind of music), drop their jaws to the floor, or literally cry(for real) with emotion because they did not know this level of quality of music existed. Today's music serves ONE purpose. To make money, and to promote sex celebrity culture instead of musical quality. Sad, sad, sad. Now, it's more important how "HOT" they are, or how "HOT" their video is.
All decades have songs of fun, party, summer, and even heartbreak, but the 80's brought romance that no other decade has touched since.
If you liked this, try "Gold" -- Spandau Ballet at their best.
His vocals in that song are absolutely astonishing.
Through the barricades.
Damn, “Gold” was by far their most underrated single.
Round and Round is also a must
Was just about to say that. It's the only other song by them I know, but I love it. Another song I was introduced to by the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City soundtrack👍
That reminds me, if you haven't already, you should check out Joe Jackson's "Steppin' Out"...such a dope song!
I'm old enough to remember the battle of the boy bands in the 80s. Duran Duran against Spandau Ballet.
Me too.... to be honest I didn't care who won. I was too busy drooling
"True" is a part of my past, present and will be a part of my future. I like your hair by the way.
My daughter and her choir have sang with him this yr his voice still sounds the same
Lisa Mills Saw Tony last year .Voice intact .Its Gold
And he is still cute
Lisa Mills are you serious
Love the end of wedding singer.. Steve Buscemi so hilarious
@John Wickes I went to his concert a couple of month ago and I had low expectations for all the reasons you named. And I was blown away. His singing was wonderful and he has got what a lot of people need: Charisma and the ability to communicate with the audience. I was three meters away from him. I was so happy this was the least cringeworthy concert and that I did not have to compensate with booze. Of course people change, but Tony hasn't lost it and still makes people happy
I have loved Spandau Ballet since junior high school, where I grew up they never came anywhere close to be able to see them. Fast forward to my 43rd birthday, got to see them front row at House of Blues in Boston and Steve Norman serenaded me in the sax solo. I could have died and gone to heaven.
Whoa, grade 7 just called. They want the last song of the dance back.
I know, right?
Yep, back in the day when MTV actually played music
I was 17 My boyfriend and I used to skate together to this ❤
LOL. I love this song, but yes, you nailed it 100%. (Not that it will ever make me love the song any less...)
Couples only at the skate rink
PM Dawn's "Set Adrift on Memory Bliss" would be the next logical song for a reaction!
Awful cover of a classic.
No, just no. NEVER respect an artist that steals musical ideas through sampling.
Great sample
One of the best covers ever, girl.
Aesthetic Perfection - Tony Hadley actually helped PM Dawn with “Set Adrift On Memory Bliss” - so it wasn’t stolen.
Sampled perfectly by PM Dawn - Set Adrift on Memory Bliss.
Great songs ❤️
Edit: Guy on the piano played Whitney's manager in The Bodyguard.
Sampling is for people that don't know how to create music. No respect.
@@Grizazzle Just because you don't like the music, doesn't mean it's not good music.
And I'm pretty sure the 'respect' comes in the form of a royalty cheque.
@@Grizazzle - You dummy. Even Tony Hadley (lead singer of SB) makes an appearance on their video singing along.
@@Grizazzle set adrift on memory bliss is a beautiful song. perfect example of using a sample with respect.
One of my very favorite 80’s love songs! Love your terrific reaction and really great interpretation of this beautiful song!
These guys are suave to the max. Such a great, smooth song.
Definitely takes me back to the 80's whenever I hear this beautiful song. So true.
He's got a quality voice, he's still singing back here in the UK..... On TV shows etc. Got to love the 80s suits lol, reminds me of Dynasty
What is it that it’s enjoyable to look at you react? Your wonderful smile probably and the fact that we see another human expressing the same emotions we felt, surely. Thank you.
I really enjoy watching your reaction videos and watching a young woman like you appreciate the music that old folks like me grew up on. Thank you.
I love this song. I do recommend one other song by the same band. Through the Barricades is my absolute favourite by this band. You’ll love it.
To cut a long story short is a good one too
Excellent My True Song...Dig it good India..
I remember this song from the 80's and especially from the movie "Sixteen Candles".
And the wedding singer
In the 80's I was a pre-teen and teen who loved New Wave, but hung out with people that rapped and were popping and locking. To this day, I am the only one in my family that still listens to New Wave and Punk from that period. It was such an influence on me and still music that is played in movie soundtracks today.
Tony Hadley has one of The best voices of the 80s, hugely underrated singer!
Try ‘Through the Barricades’ by Spandau Ballet it’s absolutely brilliant
The 80's were freakin' amazing!!
Want more blue eyes 80s soul? Try Breathe - "How Can I Fall" and "Hands To Heaven".
I love belting out Hands to Heaven in my car. Where nobody can hear me.
Excellent choices!
How can I fall is my mom and dad fave soundtrack before... ohhhh 80’s!
Y E S!!! This is one of my favorite 80's songs!!! Thank you!
Classic 80's.Every girl had the lead singer Tony Hadley & Martin Kemp the guitar player on their bedroom wall.
OMD - If you leave, would be a great next one!
It's Spandau Bal-LAY, like Ballet dancing. The term Spandau Ballet was coined during World War1. Spandau was a German machine gun manufacturer, and their guns were mounted on German fighter planes. The Allied pilots used the term Spandau Ballet to describe dogfighting against the Germans
thank you for more info
Michael Campbell Never knew that. Very interesting.
There ya go. You beat me to it.
Never heard about the gun manufacturer before, interesting. Spandau is a quarter of Berlin, which (probably) is where this manufacturer is or was based.
wrong. Spandau prison is where they hung prisoners, when the warden would walk by he would use is crop and drag it across the feet of the hung prisoners making the bodies sway back and forth, creating the "Spandau ballet".
The lead Singer is Tony Hadley from London the singer from Spandau Ballet one of the best live male vocalists of the last 40 years
Takes me back saw Tony Hadley live whilst on holiday in Majorca sung all the Spandau Ballet greats True, Through the Baracades, Gold and few more he such a great vocal range and a very powerful voice
Reminds me of my dad. He had the record. Thinking about it, I bet it was for his wolf den. Him being a single man. Here's to ya, dad!
This was my favorite song of this era. The twins, Gary and Martin Kemp, played the real-life twin gangsters the Krays in the movie of the same name.
Erm. Gary and Martin Kemp aren't twins, brothers yes but twins no. There's 2 years between them
@@sickboisadventures Ha. Thanks. I never knew that.
@@corvus1374 no problem
I remember the first time I heard this I knew that it was going to become a Classic. A truly beautiful song that has stood the test of time.
This song caused me so many memories of late night dates in the back seat parking at
a quiet place with someone kissing, touching, squeezing, fondling, cuddling, und experiencing...
.........things...giggles When this first played the radio no one knew who they were, but it
became one of the most loved "love ballets" of the 80s. It was a perfect song to get lost in
your emotions kissing, making out in the backseat, with someone ya liked while parking on a
dark country road some place Saturday night. :-)
Such a joy to see someone who experienced "mostly" different genre of music, but has heard
this song und liked it, but never really listened to das lyrics of what das song was truly about.
Makes me smile as well. :-)
All Rock music tells a story you may have interest...silly girl. Auf Wiedersehen :-)
Spandau Ballet have had many styles of music throughout the years. Check out their early stuff too. Journeys to Glory and Diamond Albums. Gary Kemp is a great writer.
Loving this 80's rabbit hole you've got going! How about "Voices Carry" by Til Tuesday?
Definitely one of the best 80s hits. This one is so well-crafted and just never gets old.
Two more great songs by Spandau Ballet is "I'll fly for you" and "highly strung". One of the best bands from the 80s
See this is what im talking about. My 80's soft roxk
@staircase2 actually it does fit that genera . It's also know as adult contemporary. I grew up on this so I know.
Perfect follow up: Time by Culture Club. Also a very soulful song.
Always did love this song! Smoooooth! By the way, love your hair gurl, and love to see the way that you change it up each time. Love the shades of blue especially
He was on our last 80s cruise, and he can still sing just the same. So great!
React to 'Steppin' Out' and 'Breaking Us In Two' by Joe Jackson. 🙂
And Is She Really Going Out With Him
Yes! Thanks for the suggestions, Raul!
Another vote for "Steppin Out".
And. Different for girls by joe Jackson.
"This is the sound of my soul"... 'nuff said
"Listening to Marvin all night long". During the New Romantic period (Spandau Ballet came through as a part of the New Romantic movement) young Brits beyond the north were discovering soul music in a big way. And of course Marvin Gaye, one of the great American soul artists had to come to London ten years earlier to be fully appreciated by the industry. The Spandau's were clearly heavily influenced by Marvin 's work. Listen to this again and then listen to Marvin Gaye's seminal masterpiece 'I Want You' (which was recorded in London). The 'nod' to Marvin in the lyric is so well deserved!
I love your reactions and I lovelovelove this song.
Thanks!
….I knowwwww this, muuuuuch is, True! This song is so relaxing.
Look up the movie Valley Girl, stars Nick Cage and the best 80’s soundtrack outside of all John Hughes movies.
👍🤘✌Agreed!
"Sixteen Candles"
God, thank you! I've been going crazy trying to remember. 💞✌
Beautiful tune....never get tired of it, even after 30 years...
You're rolling out the 80's soft hits. Brings back memories. Many Thanks.
Spandau Ballet - Gold
The harmony of the backing singers is provided by musician band membetes now actors who once played the kray twins. The are twins in real life
AWESOME tune from the 80's... Clearly remember those times... Dig your reaction! You are feelin the vibe....Love it!
Love these guys!
Through the Barricades by Spandau Ballet, is chilling.
i remember dancing with a girl back in high school to this song, and when the saxophone solo came out i whispered to her "i didn't think we were having sax tonight" just to break the tension. We didn't. LOLOL
You were never that witty in high school. It took you 30 years to come up with that line.
@@johnsmith-wx5fb nope it's legit, i was always fast, sadly my wife would agree lol
So you're saying you ended up having to play your own 'sax solo' later on ?
@@AsDeadAsDillinger LOLOL very good
Awesome song , brings back memories of one of my school sweethearts. One of the classics.
I love the blue in your hair! So pretty!
Getting some of the nurses at the Hospital i work at into your reaction vids. Luv em could you do me Prince Alphabet street, if you have already done that one sorry or maybe Doctor Doctor by the Thompson Twins? Oh and Stay Safe.
India! Girl! You should react to Double "Captain of her Heart" I like the US version...
When I saw the title, I knew you'd love the vibe of this song! Hehe, loved your reaction too!
Young lady, your face is a sheer joy to watch. More life and fun and intelligence and kindness in one minute of watching you than in the whole rest of my day! Thank you!
this song became big because it was in the movie Sixteen Candles
Song was a global hit, including the US, the year before the film was released.
Such an amazing soundtrack.
I don't remember it from *Sixteen Candles,* but it was also in *The Wedding Singer.*
I don't think so. Never seen Sixteen Candles. Massive hit long before some film.
now you have to react to "Tears For Fears - Woman in Chains."
Although picking a suitable Tears For Fears song would be pretty tough indeed. Too many to choose from. I'd go with "Mothers Talk." Although "... Chains" is more like "True."
And Sowing the Seeds of Love 😍
Badman Song live
Victor Helo awesome video clip from this song!
"Working Hour" is one of my faves from TFF.
Your amazing India love you uploads, much love from the UK
Such an awesome song. Brings back such good 80s memories. Keep on the 80s exploration/journey. YES!!!
It has been sampled many times but this is the original.
Yeah! We know already. Einstein over here

I always thought that these guys sucked, and so it's scary that by today's standards, this song is an absolute masterpiece.
agreed! when this came out i was 11 and if wasnt metallica or AC/DC music could go fuck itself, now I get why all these artists sold millions upon millions of albums...
Any song with a melody sounds like a masterpiece now.
That's because they didn't suck.
I fell for this song when I was 14.
I grew up with Punk and then AC/DC, Whitesnake, Metallica and all the heavy bands in between, but this song was in the charts when I was working at a US base in North Yorkshire U.K.; loved it then, love it more now.....the melody in ANY song is one of, if not THE, most important element of ANY SONG. True has it by the bag load.....

I predict 125,000 subscribers.
Keep growing India !
You are a special person.
Your kids have a loving and dynamic and powerful and intelligent and sensitive mother. They are blessed.
Continue on!
Tony Hadley (and a lot of 80s front men like Peter Cox, Simon Le Bon etc) are classic examples of "shut the fuck up and sing the notes". There's more emotional resonance here than all that vocal gymnastics and scale runs you see on the talent survival shows.
They have a song called "Gold." Check that out. Check out Dead or Alive--You Spin Me Round.
Did you hear to Breathe "Hands To Heaven"??.
Love them "Breathe"
One hit wonder but what a song

Great band. Always loved Leaving Me Now, wonderful piano part.
An unbelievable decade.
Listen to their new song Steal now that they are approaching 60 years old like myself.
This is probably my favorite 80s song. The memories I get are so strong from that time and it automatically transports me back to age 5/6,when it came out. ❤️
Try “through the barricades” or early the stuff “chant no 1” keep em coming 👍
I definitely second a vote for "Through the Barricades". I'm very definitely not a "New Romantic" but I did like that song. It is a very sad and poignant song about a time from our recent history that we Brits have hopefully put behind us for good.
love that song too, i like i'd fly for you by them too
Through The Barricades is a beautiful song, possibly Spandau Ballets best. I think you'd like it.
Through the Barricades is a masterpiece. So beautifully written and performed.
To cut a long story short and chant No1
Maybe he's talking about how he feels about a man, not a woman? ;) Plz. react to: "Gold" which was a fantastic song Spandau Ballet did; it has a plot and a James Bond vibe; would have made a gr8 James Bond theme song..
Yes, I agree. Through the Barricades, and Chant No 1 are a must to react to.
I love your reaction to one of my fave 80s UK songs. 😊
You might want to react to Roxy Music and their song More than this, it is a great song with a great R and B vibe.
Roxy Music were the musical godfathers of Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran and the rest of the New Romantics movement
