So I was recently made aware of the attention this video has received. I don't know how or why it has so many views or comments but I thought I'd pop back on this channel to address some of the comments below in hopes of clearing some things up. 1. Thank you for those of you who liked it. 2. As stated in the description this was just a silly video I made for a Bio class I took 6 years ago. It is not meant to be a professional educational video on Shoebills and is mostly satirical in nature. If you learned something from it, cool! 3. I do not hate Shoebills, they are wonderfully weird birds.. I did however hate school and made this video in my last few weeks of my Senior Year of college so that might explain the sass. 4. Yes, I passed my Bio class. I'll keep the video up because people seem to be still watching and commenting. If you like it or not I hope it at least informs you a bit about this big bird boi and encourages you to learn more on the species and its conservation! Thanks!
Loved your video!!! Experts can be over rated and tend toward boredom. Just a73 year old woman who delights in finding new places and animals on sites like yours. Thanks again for posting
I loved it! I couldn't help but LMAO! Especially how you were pronouncing some of the words. People need to lighten up and laugh more. Thanks for sharing!
Should your funeral be so exciting ;-) Of course, you could have a Steve Irwin clone jumpin' n hollerin' ...seriously, it does bleed enemic and the musac is a dirge.
OK, y’all, let’s set up a Travel to the Shoebill list for our next African vacation. Wanna hit Seychelles while we’re over there? It’s on my bucket list.
The living shoebill is on display at Lowrey Park zoo in Tampa Florida and also in a zoo in Belgum the only individuals outside of Africa. If you visit Disney World in Orlando Tamp is only an hour west of the theme park.
This is the ultimate cutest unique bird I have ever seen ❤ people in Uganda are blessed to have such a beautiful species of bird in there land .I love these birds !!!!! Wish we had them in 🇨🇦
She was being ironic and satirical. She absolutely does not think they are dumb, and if you read her description, you would understand that. Also, I assume you never watch ZeFrank nature videos because her commentary is similar to his, and it's genius
Check out Futaba the Shoebill at Hiro@sea UA-cam channel. Futaba lives in a Japanese aviary and bowing greeting of shoebills fits in so well in Japan. Futaba greets her keepers by snapping her bill and bowing and the keepers bow back. Adorable!
I thought this was National Geographic or something, then the narrator started saying stuff like "they're not as dumb as they look" and "here's a clip of a fish repeatedly punching a shoebill in the face" and "they have to breathe through their stupidly oversized mouths."
Why have they not gotten attention until recently? If they have always existed, why are we just recently being made aware of their existence? I have been to lots of zoos and never seen or heard of them. Never seen them in books or anything. I think they are amazing!!
They like you to bow to them and they will bow back, they are beautifully majestic. I only hope that there’re protected from poachers who will take them because people want one, for a week.
Your comments are priceless. Loved the part about the fish hitting the shoebill. They are very different looking. Beauty at its worst....or best. Glad to hear there are efforts to help the populations of these dinolike birds.
tristanilou, I loved this video so so much. Your humor is perfect and I just learned about a new bird that I now adore. Girl, please keep that humor and educational light glowing bright!! I wish you could do more videos like this. Definitely never take this video down. It is a masterpiece!!!
Please watch other videos of this fabulous bird ..they do not look dumb at all ,they have amazing eyes ..these birds are wow birds ..check out other vids ..n I believe the young weak ones are being beaked to save them ..wow birds
Really sorry Miss Narrator , this bird is beautiful and that's one of mother's nature another unique design , so could you please refrain from using words like stupidly over-sized mouth and bodes are a weird mash up of different species .. Come on DON'T BODY SHAME this magnificent creature..
Fun fact: The Loftwings from “The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword” are inspired by the Shoebills, and their curly tails are inspired by the tail of a shiba dog (hope I spelt that right).
if you were to make more narrated videos like this in this style i would deffffffinitely go out of my way to watch them someone's gotta replace zefrank yo
If the whole video had been as snarky as the start, I'd say this should be a show on Animal Planet. Seriously, I would totally watch whole episodes of this. Like David Attenborough having a long rethink of his life, deciding he doesn't really like learning about or talking about animals after all, but still being contractually bound to do nature documentaries. Or like the whale biologist from Futurama ;) Seriously, do more of these, be a smartass all the way through, and submit one to Animal Planet.
I have been obsessed with the Shoebill for awhile now. I desperately want one for the front yard, which I feel would deter all solicitation. I have two 110 pound Bouviers that I walk with in the early morning but a shoebill on a leash would be far more intimidating. I’d go down any dark alley with that guy!
I'm straight up terrified of shoebills. Once I was at the London Natural History Museum and passed by a stuffed shoebill on the bird display and I freaked out a bit and my sister had to tell me when it was completely out of sight. Anyway, your narration made watching them for almost 5 minutes tolerable, sooooo thanks. They are actually very interesting birds, but they look like satan's pet bird and can reach the height of Danny DeVito, which I'm not into.
Valeria E i used to work with a woman who was afraid of midgets and dwarves....not kidding. Sometimes she would remove herself from the room, spend like5,10 minutes in the bathroom just to stop laughing or getting weirdly anxious....i made error, not afraid but....freaked out!!!
Did you stay awake for 3 days before recording this? You have a pleasant voice, but I have rarely heard somebody sound so bored or disinterested or on the brink of falling asleep (and not in an ASMR way) as you in this video. Please take this as the constructive criticism it is and best of luck to you.
4:22 Favourite image. Fabulous creature! I sincerely hope Hollywood doesn't start using them in films, as some commentators have suggested. I somehow feel it wouldn't be in the best interests of these birds. Anything involving using animals in a profit-making way tends to turn out worse for the animal in most cases.

Acompanhei o vídeo com interesse!!! Na verdade, não entendi a narrativa pela dificuldade com a língua. As imagens são lindas!!!
I loved it! I couldn't help but LMAO! Especially how you were pronouncing some of the words. People need to lighten up and laugh more. Thanks for sharing!
Your Shoebill video worked for me. I loved it and now I love the Shoebill. Your humor is fabulous.
I just don't know why you keep insulting them.
Let’s not be rude to this magnificent prehistoric looking bird.
it is my policy to never be rude to birds that can decapitate me
Coolest bird ever!!!!!!!!!
I want the narrator to officiate my funeral.
With the same music
She might as well officiate the shoebills funeral, because of mankind the shoebills are on they’re way to extinction.
hahaaaa 😂😂😂😂😂
Nailed it
Should your funeral be so exciting ;-) Of course, you could have a Steve Irwin clone jumpin' n hollerin' ...seriously, it does bleed enemic and the musac is a dirge.
This is one of my favorite birds. I want to see one in real life so badly 🥺
Same!!!!!
OK, y’all, let’s set up a Travel to the Shoebill list for our next African vacation. Wanna hit Seychelles while we’re over there? It’s on my bucket list.
First time I saw this beautiful bird at our Singapore Bird Park. I thought this bird is so unique with this big smile on its face.
The living shoebill is on display at Lowrey Park zoo in Tampa Florida and also in a zoo in Belgum the only individuals outside of Africa. If you visit Disney World in Orlando Tamp is only an hour west of the theme park.
They are amazing in real life! There's a few in Japan
Those staring eyes and confident attitude make them my fav bird.good luck
I think they're adorable looking and I love their eyes.
You sound SUPER EXCITED about this
This is the ultimate cutest unique bird I have ever seen ❤ people in Uganda are blessed to have such a beautiful species of bird in there land .I love these birds !!!!! Wish we had them in 🇨🇦
I like shoebills. They are fascinating birds. Thank you for this video.
They are actually kind of cool looking birds.
I don't like her calling these fabulous creatures "dumb". But I do love the complete and full information provided. So, thank you!
Women are dumb so they think others are dumb too
Thank you! She definitely has no brain. This stork is the greatest
She was being ironic and satirical. She absolutely does not think they are dumb, and if you read her description, you would understand that. Also, I assume you never watch ZeFrank nature videos because her commentary is similar to his, and it's genius

this video changed my life. i now identify as a shoebill
LOL Nathan
Such an incredibly cool species
The only thing funnier than a shoebill is your commentary.
I thought this was National Geographic or something,
then the narrator started saying stuff like "they're not as dumb as they look" and "here's a clip of a fish repeatedly punching a shoebill in the face" and "they have to breathe through their stupidly oversized mouths."
Can't be on national geographic she's to stupid
Your enthusiasm is contagious 🙄!
This is my favorite voice over I've ever heard in my life. "The voice of an angel." Can we be friends lol. THEIR EYELIDS FREAK ME OUTTT
I’m surprised Hollywood didn’t use shoebills in scary movies.
Why have they not gotten attention until recently? If they have always existed, why are we just recently being made aware of their existence? I have been to lots of zoos and never seen or heard of them. Never seen them in books or anything. I think they are amazing!!
Right? That's why I love this video. It's not only comedy gold, but I learned about a new and incredibly fascinating bird
the way this is so deadpan but so funny is making me laugh out loud
"Voice of an angel" - sound of a belt-fed machine gun XD Love it!
What on earth is better than a Shoebill Stork? Two Shoebill Storks. I'm obsessed. I never saw one before yesterday now I can't stop looking!
They like you to bow to them and they will bow back, they are beautifully majestic. I only hope that there’re protected from poachers who will take them because people want one, for a week.
My god, it's amazing how much this bird looks like my ex wife.
Your comments are priceless. Loved the part about the fish hitting the shoebill. They are very different looking. Beauty at its worst....or best. Glad to hear there are efforts to help the populations of these dinolike birds.
We need a giant-shoebill movie.
YES O_O
he has his own beauty, I would like to bring him in my garden like a pet
These birds look like something out of the Flintstones.
tristanilou, I loved this video so so much. Your humor is perfect and I just learned about a new bird that I now adore. Girl, please keep that humor and educational light glowing bright!! I wish you could do more videos like this. Definitely never take this video down. It is a masterpiece!!!
it works, they have been around for millions of years, but now they are going away,
due to “human interference”.
Please let them live happily.
Love your smartass narration. Bet you got some laughs lol
these are the most hilarious looking birds. and this is my favorite video of them.
She should narrate documentaries her voice is so soothing.
An unexpected laugh. Loved it.
it s my favorite bird and i love him💙💞💜🤎
Please watch other videos of this fabulous bird ..they do not look dumb at all ,they have amazing eyes ..these birds are wow birds ..check out other vids ..n I believe the young weak ones are being beaked to save them ..wow birds
one of the best videos on youtube. ever!
i could listen to you talk about stuff all day.
I really hope this was a school project, the overall time you have throughout this is hilarious! This would easily get an A+
Beautiful commentary. Beautiful birdie.
I loved her narration 🤣
Perpetually pissed off brow of am eagle... As a Virgo I felt that 😂
That iconic death stares😂
That bird is beautiful
Cool bird. Is this the stork that delivered me to my parents? How many are old enough to remember that story of how babies are born? 🤣
I'm old enough 🙋🏻♂️
Really sorry Miss Narrator , this bird is beautiful and that's one of mother's nature another unique design , so could you please refrain from using words like stupidly over-sized mouth and bodes are a weird mash up of different species .. Come on DON'T BODY SHAME this magnificent creature..
Most entertaining way to narrate scholastics, your video should be played in every school and kids would pay attention.
Fun fact: The Loftwings from “The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword” are inspired by the Shoebills, and their curly tails are inspired by the tail of a shiba dog (hope I spelt that right).
all the videos of this bird look like cg no fuckin way this thing is real
what a trip i gotta see one now !
if you were to make more narrated videos like this in this style i would deffffffinitely go out of my way to watch them
someone's gotta replace zefrank yo
I was thinking that too, this is competing with zefrank humor in a big way. I love it!
Didn't I see this bird in the Flintstones?
If the whole video had been as snarky as the start, I'd say this should be a show on Animal Planet. Seriously, I would totally watch whole episodes of this. Like David Attenborough having a long rethink of his life, deciding he doesn't really like learning about or talking about animals after all, but still being contractually bound to do nature documentaries. Seriously, do more of these, be a smartass all the way through, and submit one to Animal Planet.
Ditto to all of this!
Please do not allow this bird to follow the path of the Dodo
Best narration ever
These are uniquely beautiful birds... something made from a magical imagination a fantasy..💖
Mandela effect is where the bird comes from
Your vo is HILARIOUS. Thank you. Informative and entertaining. :)
Why she is talking bad about the bird calling basically not good looking. It’s a beautiful bird
This is so informative and entertaining. Well done!
Beautiful video, awesome birds. Narrator could use a good dose of caffeine.
i love this beautiful baby!!!!! I wish I could have one
This thing really makes videos about animals.
Daria presents: Planet Earth
😂 nice one~
Damn! I thought it was going to be some animatronic robot someone built for dinosaur display didn’t know it is a real life bird.
Wow...mother nature is a mad scientist...
as an ornithophobe, i will scream inchoherently if i come in 100 miles of this thing
i appreciated this video
I love this bird!

Valeria E haaaahaaahaaa...yo that is the best comment on anything ever!!!😎
Love them so much
Great narrator voice and word choices
Thank you for the narration Daria. LOL!

4:22 Favourite image. Fabulous creature!

They are scary af
I'm gonna hop on one and it to skyloft!
They are beautiful ❤❤❤
The shoe bill has grace. The narrator has not.
Beautiful thanks, I must attempt to draw the Shoebill
I find them intriguing.
These guys kinda look like muppets.
When that guy walks in tall grass it’s exactly how I picture nanotyrannus
@1:35 oh shit everybody get down they shootin, they shootin

It's a mouth breather then.
A real life Chocobo, neat, we must protect, if it's not to late that is.
