- How to change a wing mirror or door mirror on a mk4 mondeo. When someone wipes out your wing mirror & run away, what do you do? Claim off your insurance, not on your life. Change it yourself for £80.
Great video Geoff. Just what I was looking for. I had a clown drift over and do the same to me. You're right about the bang. The guy got so close I actually shut my eyes.

I used my Mondeo for towing my caravan but since I lost my wife I don't caravan anymore. I have now got a Ford Focus and it's brilliant!!

I've just had to do this on my '09 Mondeo. But be warned, my replacement mirror came with a captive bolt rather than captive nut to hold the mirror to the door. I needed a 8mm nut to fix it in place. And whilst getting the tweeter and door panel off is quite easy, putting it back together is MUCH more difficult!

Some arsehole decided to try and kick my wing mirrors off, so had to replace both.

Both me and a neighbour both got our cars attacked, while others in the flat block were left alone.
In Southampton there is a lot of this type of crime, and the police don’t seem to do anything.

Geoffrey Newton The guy was crossing the road and thought he got too close with the car but never actually touched him and he followed him into a supermarket carpark and decided to attack his car like a total nutcase.
Wing mirror is done now just need to replace the wings :)

Geoffrey Newton I replaced the wings today for some good used ones, they were pretty badly crushed in so he just wanted to replace them as it did look a mess. All sorted now anyway, cheers

You don't have to remove the whole panel. You can remove the speaker housing and just the Two panel screws on the hinge side. Tiny bit more tricky reconnecting the power lead but not that difficult.
I didn't go that way but thanks for the info, it might help someone else out.
Hi mate, the plastic trim Infront of the wing mirror, on the outside, does it just pry off ?
It was a long time ago when I did this job but as far as I can remember the trim comes off with the old mirror. The new mirror should come complete with trim.

Hi, can you tell me the colour name or code? As this is my colour mondeo and just fitted a ex scrapyard mirror of a different colour.
Sorry Paul not got the car anymore so I can't look at the color code. You should have it if you look at the info patches stuck on the car. I think!!!!

Thanks for the concise instructions on how to do this. Saved a packet ordering my own mirror and doing it myself instead of having the main dealer supply and fit a replacement. Took about 45 minutes to do this and most of that time was spent trying to find the correct Torx driver in my completely disorganised collection of tools. :D Lesson learned: Tidy up the shed more often!

Just got mine hit luckily they stopped 2013 model, apparently they're sold in parts, not surprised they are the prices they charge. Driven mondeo's 9 years can't beat them.
