- I've been wearing the Vivomove Style for one month now. This is what I think about it now. Is it the best hybrid watch I have ever worn, or do the cons outweigh the pros?

SOME ADDITIONAL REVIEW NOTES:
Music controls on the watch are usually incorrect
Sometimes it is not even playing and pressing play pauses it
CANNOT SEE IN THE DARK! (actually more annoying than you think
But, you can change the vivomove watch widget lineup so the time is first
In some orientations, you cannot turn the screen on at all
Strap retains a bit of water, stays wet for 1 hr
My body battery has been hitting 100% early in the night (see screenshot) which seems unrealistic, but otherwise the body battery seems to be somewhat useful. It does a decent job of predicting how much energy I have left in me
AMOLED screen dies but the hands still keep time (died at 1PM) - hands have a separate battery I think. This reserve battery is the best feature about this watch
This watch DOES have quick replies!
Screen touch is not always as responsive as I would like
Body battery is actually useful (see screenshots)- also shows workouts and sleep and other events in the timeline
Battery life is more like 4 days normally
Conclusion: I really like the garmin vivomove style for its light weight, its separate battery for the watch hands, and its unique aesthetic. While the touch screen interactions are not perfect and it is impossible to see the hands in the dark, these small drawbacks can be overcome with time and practice with this watch. I enjoy wearing this Garmin Vivomove Style hybrid smartwatch and usually receive a few compliments per week on it (which is very rare actually... people really like the look of this watch!) I recommend this watch to anyone who has enough money to afford it and is looking for a subtle, aesthetic wrist upgrade without going full smartwatch.

Got this watch today. First impression, well it is damn awesome, I really like that this thing has music controls, it really makes my life a lot easier at the work. Looks and feels good, and only minus I'd personally give at this point, is that the hands don't glow at the dark.
I'm thinking about buying it for my father next month, specially for the blood OX and HR monitor, and I know a "smarter" whatch won't go with him, he is over 70 so... you do recommend it as a gift?
@@alejandromadde9404 Yes, this is pretty easy watch to get the hang off, I'd say even older people are able to use this with ease. Battery life is also really good, lasts 4 days my use easily, with less music listening, it could do 5 days without charging.

Problems after 3 months use (in my opinion)
- connected GPS problem: after session end I found GPS works only first hundred metre.
- Garmin claimed 5 days battery but In reality, if you always use Garmin pay or PulseOX. You need to recharge it every 2 days
- touch sensitivity issue
- weak vibrate (can't wake me up sometimes)
- display is quite hard to read outdoor

Im new to smart watches ive literally been thinking about getting one for YEARS but then i cant decide which one to get etc and end up putting it off again. This was really helpful and i think im decided on this watch. Im having my 2nd baby in November so the gym will be out the question for a while so i think having something like this to track home workouts and out and about exercising as opposed to the machines in the gym which do it all for you will be a big plus. Do you still recommend? I'm looking to buy it, but I still don't know if I should buy a 2 year old hybrid watch. I love the design and the size. Ik there is a sport version but I want the size form the style.
@Torr-Net yeah, I actually bought it. I’ve used it for only a couple of days. I love it, but yeah..it has its quirks to work around. I don’t wanna bash it to harshly because for my use cases like wanting a watch that has add-on features it’s great, that said the interface is a bit finicky at times. It’s not as finicky as some people on the internet sold me it out to be tho. I would totally buy a second generation of this watch in a heart beat, but as it’s stands I would only recommend it to some and not all who are looking for a hybrid watch. Probably keep looking for another watch like fossils hybrid or if your into full on smart watches, I hear that to anyone interested in that they should wait till wear os 3 comes out. Maybe my opinion can change either way as I keep using it, but for now I really like it and I haven’t found anything that atrocious that’s making me send it back.
Great video, thanks! I have the original Vivomove and I love it, with only one (big) con. It's very unfortunate that Garmin didn't solve the "no hands in the dark" problem. This new version is even worse, because in the original one, you could, at least, see the minutes hand because it's painted yellow, but not the hours hand. Maybe it's not so problematic because when you turn your wrist to see the hours, the (small) Led screen turns on and shows what time is it. But I would prefer to see both hands.
The other pro I would say with the Style and Luxe is the ability to swap out the straps, they are quick release so if you fancy a leather strap or steel bracelet with it its pretty easy to find 3rd party alternatives. Any 20mm quick release strap will work with it. Ive got about 4 straps that I wear with it, 1 for dress up, 2 leather and 1 silicone for working out.
I got the luxe. Looks better but at a higher cost of course. Love mine but charge every 3 days as not good letting your battery get to low. Not good for your battery.
Think the Oxy sensor uses more battery and leave it on. Great for extra sleep data.
Sleep tracking can be hit or miss but better than the older garmin watches.
yo mike, i watched this video and bought myself a vivomove style and i also bought one for my wife after a few months. now my watch is having charging problem. thing is, can you review vivomove trend? i watched other reviews but honestly would prefer your version of the review. thanks regardless, this watch served me well for the past 2.5 years. i would not bought this if i didnt see this video

@@holaminobrees20 Garmin's experience in sport seems to pay off here.
I can't talk so much about running, but even the previous model is amazing in measuring stairs. Living in the fourth floor I go up these stairs at least three times a day (lock-down aside) and have it set to 10 stairfloors-notification... and it really reliably notifies me when starting the climb to third floor third time a day. It really only has my movement to distinguish, that I'm going upstairs and not walking or going down and counts absolutely accurate.
How are the notifications on the watch i.e facebook instatagram and call answering?
@@29metko for most messengers you will see first name of app then from who and whole message for phone calls you will see number (i don't know why I can't see contact )

If it was only for an hour, then you didn't "lose" the cable, rather you just misplaced it ;-) But +1 to the charge thing. How has the tech-world not yet agreed on one common I/O and Charging solution for everything?
Yeah I predict that all smartwatches will charge via qi charging or something. Right now, it's just the wild West, so every company has their own charger. It's annoying
My thing with Garmin is that a lot of their watches are too large!! I wish they offer smaller sizes with neutral colors - not the weird colors combinations they usually pick.
Got this watch yesterday, sad to say it does not have a quick reply option. Perhaps it is because I am using an iPhone? Thats the only reason I can think of. All it is offering me is to ‘Clear’ the message. Bummed, that was one of the things that sold me.

I was on the fence about this watch for a while, not because I am an Apple Sheep lol because of the look and a particular style. My biggest concern is will it help me through my day. I looked and looked on youtube for this what you presented. Sir, great video, and I plan to get this for my birthday instead of upgrading my Apple and spending over 200.00. Nice job. I can't seem to like the watch aspect of it. It has dark colored hands against a very dark display. Some of the other Vivomoves I've seen online have similar legibility issues.
Anyone know if they fixed the music issue, music is a big part of why I'm interested.

The visibility under sunlight is okay on the black ones, if you get some of the lighter ones (silver) then I've heard people say you can't basically see anything which sounds about right.
Would you recommend this watch going in to 2022 or should you go for a newer watch?
Hey Mike do you think this is more accurate for sleep tracking and fitness than the galaxy active two? I like the idea of body battery more because it takes almost everything into account. Which is what I got the active two for. What do you think?
Hey! Just wondering if after a year later you would still purchase the vivomove style? I'm really interested in a hybrid watch, but I'm just concerned about the longevity of the software as I don't want to spend a lot of money and then not have it work in a year.
same question here but after 2 years in the market😅. I really like the design and the way they when around it. Ik the sport released a couple of months back this year but I prefer the metal and the 42mm size of the style.
I'm trying to figure out which smartwatch to purchase. Mainly to separate myself from the phone. I'm a heath care provider and checking texts is not always possible on my phone. Your content is helpful. I'm also trying to find a MRI safe device. I am in medical imaging and days where I do MRIs I have to leave my devices off/home.

Probably too late to be useful for you but maybe for others. I found tapping the exact middle of watch is fairly reliable. Everywhere else had like a 30% success rate while the middle where the hands connect is like 95%
What’s your wrist size I’m trying to figure out if it would be too big for me
Bought this watch after watching this video. Please becareful on buying if you need language other than english on messages to be displayed. The watch is preloaded with local language only depends on the country you bought, and you can't change that. I was so shocked to find this out from the garmin supoort and some of my messages will never display properly. Hard to imagine Garmin put this limitaton on purpose to prevent people buying the watch from other regions that could be cheaper, and they didnt list that out on product description. I feel like being cheated. Many people are multilingual, this would be my last garmin.
What would you say are the major differences between the Garmin Vivomove style and Vivomove HR? I currently have the HR but am interested in upgrading, is it worth the extra cost?

When the watch are connected to a PC via USB (Garmin Express app) the "synch" function (update watch when you have changed settings) doesen't always work properly. I usually have to do it a couple of times before successful. Somewhat annoying, but setting changes are probably something you only do a few times...
do you guys think it's still worth it in 2022?
I'm this close to buying it, but that's the only question I need answered😅.
@@theicekingkobe I bought it already, I think it's still worthy especially if you like hybrid style. There are not much of a choices for a hybrid garmin watch. You should buy forerunner 255 if you like the more sporty look.

Because I’ve seen videos where reviewers say no, but while watching the vivomove sport it has a watch face that has it, so idk if garmin learned their lesson because of people asking for it and they made an update to the style version or was it only later with the sport version?
@@theicekingkobe You can add battery in the watch face. I think, garmin still give vivomove style firmware update. the latest firmware is may 2022 version.
How’s the sleep/recovery feature compared to whoop 4.0? And how about form comparing to whoop 4.0 again? Is it unobtrusive & comfortable enough to wear while sleeping?

The Garmin app is extremely extensive with its in-depth fitness focus. While the watch may be a bit Spartan in its look of fitness tracking, The processing done on the phone with the information from the watch is truly something to behold

Compared to Withings HR steel?
I have received my Vívomove 3 style few weeks ago and everything seems fine apart from the distance of the Bluetooth connection to my phone. As soon as I get more than just a few feet away from my phone the watch disconnects!
Is there a way to increase the distance of the connection?
On my mobile I've got 4.2 Bluetooth version. I can't find what type of Bluetooth have these watches.
I have no problems i have 5.0 Bluetooth
Did you test readability in daylight at all? That was my biggest problem with the old Vivomove HR. In normal daylight conditions you could not read the screen at all.

I'm in the market for my first watch and I'm stuck between the and the galaxy active 2. Two completely different kind of watches I know, i mostly would use it for seeing what my notifications are, not care to answer calls on it and I like the battery body but do like that I can use Bixby to respond to text on the active. Just wondering what you would reccomend

Actually returned mines today. Its very overpriced so I got the older Vivomove HR premium version which has a larger face and got better battery life for me.
According to the Garmin site that has the exact same battery life as the Style
@@janaboy82 That's what the site says but my real world usage says other wise. I used the style with the pulse ox turned off and the most I was getting was 4 days maybe 5 if I was willing to risk having the battery die on me. I owned it for 3 weeks and I've had the HR for over a year before it fell and broke and I didn't find them to be that much different feature wise. I was able to purchase the premium HR, extra chargers and a couple cheap milanese bands for $60 less than the price I paid for the style. The black style doesn't even look like a nice premium black color it's a dull looking black. Don't get me wrong its a nice looking device, especially the new AMOLED display but for the price and new useful features its not worth it for me.

I couldn’t get the watch to sync with the Garmin connect despite it shows connected. The sync symbol keep rotating endlessly. Reinstall app and Bluetooth forget etc. nothing changes expect it can still connect but won’t syn, anyone experienced the same issue ?

So you still need 3 touches to see the time in dark instead of 0 or 1.
Fidgeting with your watch during a meeting is just as awkward as doing it on your phone.

Yes, I have the predecessor and that one vibrates when receiving a notification. I do not think this new version is different regarding that.

@@EkateChan No problem, it definitely can. It only does not have any sound, but it vibrates quite well. I use it as my alarm in the morning to wake up.
I wanted to upgrade my Garmin Vivoactive 4s watch to something more beautiful and fem: I bought a vivimove style rose gold and as soon as I opened the package I screamed out my disappointment, it was not gold at all but dirt-brown...I went back but the store refused to return it as I had broken the seal. WARNING the Garmin watches the picture looks much better than the real thing,,, the real thing looks worse and not with the color according to the pictures.

Body battery is totally incorrect as foods play a part in your energy and does not take food into account.
Don't take my word for it, but I think that if you log your food into the MyFitnessPal app and link it to garmin connect, then it does take eating into account.
what mm is your watch?
My wrist will be blinged out when I decide on this or the Vivoactive 4s.

Interesting. Like me, You also seem to have almost no deep sleep. 20 min is much for me, no deep sleep at all is not special...
My colleague with a Fitbit has no REM sleep...
I have a active 2 and not much deep sleep. But more rem sleep. But for me it is because of my ptsd. High stress levels though the dat can mess with your sleep which result in less deep sleep. If your deepsleep is indeed low you should feel it when you get awake. Because you ain't feeling fully rested because in your deep sleep your body is healing and in the rem your mind is progressing the day. Hope this helps

Thanks for your reviews!! I love my new watch! I do have one question and can’t find the answer online so I thought I just send you a message. I have my watch face with the two circles, top one = time bottom one = date. The top circle isn’t closed but looks like it’s closing so I wondered if there’s a function in that? Just curious, lol.
