- Police say they’re facing increased physical and mental pressure as they continue to enforce coronavirus legislation.
Since the start of the pandemic, frontline officers have attended more than 7600 reports of house parties.
Nearly 4500 gatherings have been dispersed with more than 8600 fines handed out and over 600 people arrested for Covid breaches.
The Scottish Police Federation has warned that policing the pandemic is taking its toll on officers.
STV News spent a night on patrol with officers in Aberdeen as they broke up a number of illegal house parties.
While football and fox hunting, incoming flights, illegals put into hotels...its very hard for the general populace that are mostly law abiding not to feel pissed off at not been able to see family members during lockdown
Why don't they go and knock on drug dealers doors and crack houses doors or gang bangers doors makes me sick to see cops following these orders they are betraying their oaths. sickening
to scared to stephen.
Neighbours grassing on each other for silly things absolutely disgrace get a grip
Agreed. What kind of bitter and misreable person do you need to be to grass up your neighbours like this.
@@camy252camy3 maybe a working person who is up early having to hear loud arseholes in the middle of night illegally partying during a pandemic?
@@cfcdaviddcfc two different complaints. Being irresponsibly loud after acceptable hours is pretty douchy but this complaint and subsequent police action is based on breach of covid rules.

0:18 a practice used frequently by the police which is completely illegal
It isn’t actually illegal.
Coronavirus Act 2020, Schedule 22, Part 3, subsection 19(2) is the power of entry they used. So, it was legal.
However, if you are of a mind not to consent to Acts of Parliament and prefer common law, there is a common law power of entry for Police where there is a disturbance within a premises. The courts have intentionally not tried to define a disturbance too narrowly as each set of circumstances are different so as little as one person could cause a disturbance and there is no limit on how loud or not such a disturbance needs to be. That falls to the discretion of the Police at the time.
A simple way to think about it could be that someone was being attacked but only cried out a little before being gagged. The police heard it and went into save them.
In this scenario, there was a party of sorts so that was a disturbance as it presumably was loud enough for someone to call and report.
Hope that clarifies.
I mean it is if you do your research you uneducated melt
It still isn’t.
The neighbor next door snitched
Watch out watch out the Gestapo are about
We call them the Yestapo up here.
I have upmost respect for the police and the law. What I don’t have is the way they behave and speak to people these days.
Alan, like you I have every respect for the Law, (even if some of the recent Public Health regulations are utterly divisive and have been sneaked in through the back door). Unlike you, I now have little to no respect for the rank and file Police. They appear to be generally poorly educated and trained, either misunderstand the Law or abuse it, and even though they regularly receive PST training and instruction on use of force and behavioural protocols in relation to the Police Code of Conduct, it has been my experience that few understand it or execute it correctly. Fundamentally, with the exception of a small percentage of officers, the average Response/Neighbourhood cop is either thick or unprofessional, or frequently both. Specialist cops, I find a different breed however. Again in my experience they are usually intelligent, reasonable and professional.
@@peterscott1252 This is my experience also Peter.I have had the pleasure of known personally a working with some great bobby’s over the years in various capacities.

They chose the strongest two to go out on streets
All staged for the cameras. You can bet your ass if the cameras weren't there they'd be forcing entry and detaining everyone in the house.

If they are hiding from the police they have not got the courage of their convictions.
