One of my favorite area's music. Sounds so regal and ancient, yet somber. Helps you to imagine how great this city was at its peak, and realize how far it has fallen.
you sir, are very good with putting your thoughts to words. You should be a writer. this is exactly what i felt like and the musicians wanted to represent. I guess it is also a testament to the composer's talent.
You walk through the heavily fortified gates, defeat the draconian tree sentinel. You’ve overcome every challenge before you, and expect this dungeon to be vast, and yet it’s just a husk of a capital. The guards wander aimlessly, they don’t feel in unison. Citizens lay in the ground, not even willing to fight. It’s like they’ve excepted their loss. It’s honestly sad, and this music captures this perfectly: a once great landmark, now fallen beyond repair.
I mean, the doors to most buildings are sealed with wax, the streets are empty and there's always danger lurking by, the palace is near impossible to get into, god is imprisoned, and yet there are still some soldiers going on patrol and performing their duties... It's beautiful but in a rather tragic manner. Can tell it was much more lively before.. Chances of seeing that in the DLC are none since ... It's the Ashen Capital now. 😭😭😭
When I first arrived there on my journey, I was tired playing like a day through and overlooking the city with this track playing absolutely blew my mind. I just had to gaze in awe and take in the moment. Elden Ring is such a beautiful game
This giant dead dragon body is monumental. Whole Leyndell is monumental. Like Anor Londo in DS1, Irithyll in DS3, Dragon Aerie in DS2 or Nightmare of Mensis in Bloodborne and Boletaria in Demon's Souls.
@@wojciechmazurk5468 more like its the area the other games areas wish they could be, lyndell is an actual city, the first one fromsoft were able to fulfill completely, rather than just a bunch of hallways and corridors with only scenery of buildings around you.
Damn, we're very different. I recall playing the game for 3 months and I didn't finish it. Though there's something special about slowly digesting this kind of masterpieces.
Fromsoft leans on the “decayed, past prime, shadow of former self” cliche a bit too often. I’d like to see them try their hand at an actual living city eventually
Many going to say "Oh but that's the charm of from soft games" but dude. I want to see one of these societies actually moving about in some sort of way. Or at least witness these atrocities first hand to have made the world so bad. Not just a weakened version of whatever made things so bad.
@@cinnamoon423yeah I would love to see that too but I don’t think something like that can work in a video game u know? Like say lyndell i don’t want to wander through it and see npcs doing npc things like many other video games it better stays in our head a society so alive so flourished so great or to see it in a movie or an animated form where u can get that feeling,i just don’t think “alive” cities can exist in video games and give you that feeling,at least now I don’t think in any way movies are better than video games but in this particular situation they might be,like imagine a scene in a ghibli film where they showcase the world and the people living in it that can’t be archived in video games at this time imo
It's the best game ever made. I have never seen anything even coming close to the scale and ambition of this project. The lore, the drama, the crazy ... Yet it's so beautiful, a total feast for your senses... Do play it right before the DLC comes out, it's nothing short of magnificent.
This is the one place in Elden Ring I can actually comprehend people living in it.

Every time I go thorugh this city, I always hear the white trumpet guys who also add sense to the music. It is perfect.
The fluffy cotton balls ...
"The Oracles are cute as heck."
"The Oracles are a proud noble people!"
My ears are still ringing from hearing those fucking trumpets

Majula and Leyndell: best places to relax
Can't wait for the DLC. The fact that its taking a while is actually a good sign and the anticipation builds!
Yes! I hate when people don't understand that the game is done when it's done otherwise it's just Cyberpunk 2077 or No man's sky all over again!
